Time for a gif extravaganza!!! What a great extravaganza it was, Milady..... You giffed all the scenes I like the most in the episode.....thanks.
I am curious about the ledge scene too.... I told Kiki when we were chatting the building climb was great (in boots too) To tell you the truth I think he may have done the window fall stunt himself. The looks he shoots Anne are unmistakeable, and she beams when ever he's around.... I just don't see their big secret staying hidden much longer....
I like the way TPTB finished last season with the boys riding away together..... and started this one with them riding back together..... It's nice not to have some giant cliffhanger to fret about... It's a real shame we didn't start this thread with the pilot.
What did you think of Athos & Milady?
I'm glad your warming up to Milady, BB.... Yes, I know all the dastardly stuff she's done, but I still have a soft spot for her... I knew she was going to help this ep and Athos is shooting her some looks that prove he has feelings for her other than anger and guilt..... He did tell her she had his respect, when Louis gave her the boot. I think his guilt about hanging her and drinking alone to escape it prove he still questions if he did the right thing.... maybe there was truth in what she was saying...
Do you think Marguerite will go to Rochefort willingly or he will go to her threatening her
It wasn't only the look Marguerite gave him when he was gushing over his son, but the real daggers came at the end of the episode when Aramis when straight to Anne to make sure she was OK, then he turned and walked right past her without a work or glance....Aramis wouldn't have survived this ep if looks could kill..... Of course Rochefort will pressure her, but I don't think it will take slamming her against the wall like he did Milady.... At this point I think she won't fight a bit about betraying Aramis. She has no doubt he was just using her to be close to his son and Anne. I wonder how much of her suspicion she will share with Rochefort?
Maybe Louis has the hots for Rochefort..... he does have a crown and knows where Anne keep her dresses.
I'm with wednesday on you peeping up Kiki.... share your thoughts on the "birdhunt", I know you liked the "beak boys"
I've decided the risky job in Paris is being a "Red Guard" They stacked up 5 or 6 like cord wood at the beginning of this ep.... Every episode more die... they must have a never ending supply....

Athos was barely on this ep. but he got two of the funniest lines, telling Aramis to come back after taking Anne to safety and then comparing Porthos to a wounded bull. I can't add anything that hasn't been said but I loved d'Artagnan & Constance, particularly Constance, who's so brave and clever. Aramis with his son - love his protection and longing. And to Louis and Rochefort!!! The higher you go the farther you fall is all I can say about Rocehfort. Oh, and Milady. I thought for a minute she was on Marmion's side until it was clear she really did get help, so kudos to her even if it was selfish. Yep, seeing more than guilt in Athos' face these days wednesday. I did miss the usual amount of humor in the show although they managed to get in some good lines in. I do hope Louis learned something from Marmion even if the guy went about it in a such a violent way, but from the sound of his whining to Anne, it's still all about Louis. I'm wondering if Porthos picked up on Rochefort's obsession with Anne too, although they portray him as not particularly interested in court intrigue, maybe a little less savvy than the others. You asked why Rochefort is so stuck on Anne when they've barely seen each other wednesday; were you including the time period where he tutored Anne when she first came to France? My impression is he fell in love with her (or whatever it is!) at that time. Good episode as always, very entertaining although brutal at times. Admired the brother for doing the right thing.

You crack me up shoe20! I'm still leaning toward Louis discovering Rochefort's obsession with Anne and that he's a weirdo and doing the deed himself. If Louis wasn't already a major weenie, this ep. sealed the deal. Dude needs to get some manhood back, NOW, or he's truly hopeless and useless.

I think the very last scene of the ep, where Aramis goes straight to Anne to see if she's OK then walks right past Marguerite with out a glance, sealed the deal.... She'll do anything Rochefort asks, now.... no need to blackmail. There's no hope for Louis. lol I think he has the hot's for Rochefort. .... wonder how he'll look in Anne's dress and crown? From you great post above...... Athos was barely on this ep. but he got two of the funniest lines, telling Aramis to come back after taking Anne to safety and then comparing Porthos to a wounded bullThe scenes he had were important to the story.... Talking to Treville about him moving on... and his interactions with Milady bordered on affection....The look he shot her when he gave her a "leg up" on the horse.... the "You'll be safe here"... and telling her she had his respect..(really big) There's no doubt he's still smitten.... Aramis with his son - love his protection and longing.Big feels there.... also Anne gushing with pride and love when he was holding his son..... I'm wondering if Porthos picked up on Rochefort's obsession with Anne tooHe knows something's up but no one other than Marguerite and the ho have seen the "creepy side".... He's just not around the palace at the right time to put it together yet..... Constance has a better shot at guess Rochefort's driving obsession...

Here are the new dialogue teasers for 207 (Spoiler TV) and my guesses.... “In the meantime, I am going to bed. I am very tired!” Louise to Louis“Doctor Lemay asked me to assist him” Constance to Anne“I realized I didn’t want to leave this world with any secrets on my conscience” Treville to Porthos“You and Constance, you’ll never be happy together” Aramis to d'Artagnan“You have too much to lose and I’m not the man to make you happy” Aramis to Marguarite“This marriage is my death sentence” Constance to Bonacieux “It was a team effort, but yes, I believe we did” Treville to musketeers“From this distance it’s more accurate than a musket, and it’s easy to conceal” Aramas to d'Art“You’d be wise not to make an enemy of me” Milady to Rochefort“The regiment will need a new Captain soon, I could recommend you” Treville to Athos“Porthos needs your loyalty now, more than ever” Treville to musketeers
Aramis (20?) and Athos (205) being cool ....

shoe20 What a great extravaganza it was, Milady..... You giffed all the scenes I like the most in the episode.
No problem!! There were so any great moments between everyone it was really hard to narrow it down!! One of the best episodes by far! I am curious about the ledge scene too.... I told kiki when we were chatting the building climb was great (in boots too) To tell you the truth I think he may have done the window fall stunt himself. The looks he shoots Anne are unmistakeable, and she beams when ever he's around.... I just don't see their big secret staying hidden much longer...
I'm really hoping they have a bts video for that scene!!!!He certainly looked like he was up there! It is so hard for them doing scenes like that in the boots. In fact they all said running in the boots all over the place is one of the toughest things to do more so than fighting and riding the horses! You might be right about him doing that stunt and ledge scene because they did have him hanging from the window in the pilot! I have a shot of him wearing a wire for it. Poor Santiago! I feel for him because he's afraid of heights! I can relate!! I want Porthos to find out about Anne and Aramis so Aramis doesn't have to carry such a heavy secret and it will help take some of the pressure off of Athos! I like the way TPTB finished last season with the boys riding away together..... and started this one with them riding back together..... It's nice not to have some giant cliffhanger to fret about... It's a real shame we didn't start this thread with the pilot.
I'm glad they didn't either. That would've been agony! I hope we're not left with one this season!!! I love it when they're all riding in together too!!! You let me know when y'all want to have discussions for the other episodes because I'm totally down for it!!! I have tons of gifs for all the episodes that I'm more than happy to post!!! Who am I kidding! You'll get to see them whether we have episode discussions or not!!! Here's your shot of them riding off!! I'm glad your warming up to Milady.
Well she got a few brownie points in this episode, but I still don't really trust her. She really did it for self preservation. Now that Louis has thrown her out of the palace I wonder what she'll do to survive. I read the advanced preview as I'm sure you did and it doesn't sound very good. She turns Athos's offer for help away probably because of her pride. I can't imagine her going to Rochefort for help!!! He's a nightmare and I wouldn't want to owe him a thing!!! Look at what he's going to try to do to Marguerite. The others were talking and don't think she will make it through the end of the season which is fine by me. I don't care for her. She's going to try to have a talk with Aramis about how he feels!!! Seriously! I don't think he can get more blunt than he was in this episode!!! Did he break off their affair before this episode or were they suppose to still be involved? I'm still wondering if Anne really knew that something was going on between them. How could she not if he was seeing her at the palace because Rochefort knew about it. Marguerite threw herself at Aramis when she saw that he was alive. Anne tried not to show emotion, but I'm sure it hurt her. At that moment I don't think she cared too much because he was there and they had a moment to be together with their son. Maybe Louis has the hots for Rochefort..... he does have a crown and knows where Anne keep her dresses
Right now I wouldn't put it past him the way he threw himself at Rochefort when he thought he was his hero!!! Milday was too much woman for him!!! That was just sick to watch!! I don't blame Athos either, I'd want to go back to the garrison too! Ok Kiki what is this about you having a thing about the "beak boys?" They were freaking creepy weren't they!!!

I agree with shoe20 all of his scenes were very important to his story and actually stood out to me more so than some of the others and he did have some of the best lines to a very dark episode. I loved it when he told Aramis to come back too because he knows him so well. I really love the different relationships that Aramis has with both Athos and Porthos. I think Athos keeps him in check and tries to keep him grounded. I loved all their scenes together in S1 and really hope we get more of that in the next season. I'll be posting a bunch of gifs soon on all their scenes together. I love the more light hearted moments. Oh, and Milady. I thought for a minute she was on Marmion's side until it was clear she really did get help, so kudos to her even if it was selfish. Yep, seeing more than guilt in Athos' face these days
That's the thing about her, you never know who's side she's going to be on! I guess it's whoever can give her what she wants at the moment and whatever serves her best interest. She is a survivor that's for sure and for someone in her position you kinda have to be. Like I said above to @shoe it's going to be interesting to see where she goes from here. I do hope Louis learned something from Marmion even if the guy went about it in a such a violent way, but from the sound of his whining to Anne, it's still all about Louis.
I don't think Louis is ever going to learn his lesson. He certainly didn't after he was kidnapped in EP2 or here!! After everything D'artagnan has done and layed his life on the line to protect him he's the one that gets blamed for putting his life in danger when it's all of Louis's own making!!!! I hope his treatment of the Musketeers comes back to bite him in the butt when he learns the truth of Rochefort and his true colors are shown! I almost laughed when Louis was saying that the people that are after him are around every corner!!! You asked why Rochefort is so stuck on Anne when they've barely seen each other wednesday; were you including the time period where he tutored Anne when she first came to France? My impression is he fell in love with her (or whatever it is!) at that time.
Yes he fell in love with her back then and she was nice to him, but she's done nothing now to prove or let him believe that she cares for him other than a friend. Other than the time she thought the baby was kidnapped they've barely spent any time together or at least from what we've seen. Has your opinion changed a little bit toward Anne after this episode? It just made me ship them even more! I just don't see how they're going to have a happy ending though!

Marguerite is definitely the weak link here, and now the spurned lover. Rochefort will keep her in line so far as Anne is concerned, but watch out Aramis. Not that she seems the type to try anything against the queen, too timid for treason, but angry enough to get back at the Musketeers. Oy, Rochefort and Louis. Can think of a few better pairings if we're going for slash fiction. I totally agree with you and wednesday about Athos' scenes having more importance than humor; his honor & loyalty are ever present. I was very surprised by the respect comment. Thought Milady would need to prove herself for a longer time period after the stunt with Louis. I suppose as a smart 17th century guy he looked upon that for what it was: survival of the fittest.
