Marguerite.... She's an upper class girl who's dad had enough pull to get her into the palace.... What can I say, I feel sorry for her, yes she's betrayed everyone around her, but she was caught up in a whirlwind of lies and blackmail that she saw no way out. She was only trying to protect her family honor and in doing so dishonored them and herself....sad Look, love came to visit in the form of a dashing musketeer and she tried to pin it down, doing her best to grab onto the dream... Even with all her emotions up front, Aramis never committed.
Milady de Winter..... (get the bows and arrows/tomatoes ready, lol) A girl born to the bottom rung of the ladder, she learned to lie, cheat, and steal at an early age....She fell for a great guy in Athos and was scared of loosing it all if she admitted her past.. I've always had a soft spot, because I believed her accusations that Thomas tried to rape her and she was just defending herself... After Athos tried to hang her, she fell back on the only thing she knew to survive.... and boy, was she successful.... Confidant to the Cardinal...and the Kings mistress.... yes, I know she's taken lives in the process (killing the girl for the dress was a little over the top, lol), but she was only a reflection of her circumstances.... She's a "hard as nails " gal, made even harder by the love of her life believing everyone but her.
OK, I'm ready, let the tomatoes fly....
Nice piece shoe20, like something in a magazine. Now get ready........LOL. Marguerite, well, Milady is barely keeping on her toes around Rochefort; someone like Marguerite never had a chance. She's too scared, not clever and doesn't want to bring shame on her family. I feel sorry for her in the sense that her particular station in life didn't offer a chance to learn usable skills for the situation she's in. She was never going to be protected or educated like the queen, or have the chance to learn courage & cleverness through hardship, as Constance did. NOW, having said that, I felt sorry for her up to the point she led Anne and the Musketeers into a trap, then tried to save Aramis. Ignorance and lack of opportunity are one thing. Outright stupidity is another!!! So that's my main gripe against Marguerite. Now Milady.....here's where you'll want to duck, shoe20 The truth is I can't argue with your summary of her young life. It's probably all true. I also believed she was telling the truth about the rape and that's the case. I still hate her though! She's not a redeemable character! She chose to align with the Cardinal, Louie - she's never been naive - rather than being forced to do that. I see that Athos loved her once, but I haven't seen proof that Milady loved Athos. She even had someone ready to cut her down from the hanging tree: a man, of course. She's conned people too long, it's not something she can give up or put aside, even for love (if she feels love for Athos). Don't be lured in by her.

shoe20 Great summary on all the women! I want to feel sorry for Marguerite, but I just can't. She knew exactly who Aramis was when she got involved with him and said so herself "notorious womanizer!" So when she tries to play this naive victim I just can't feel sympathy for her. I guess I can't really blame her. If Aramis was trying to put the moves on me I'd have hard time saying no too! It's also the writers fault for making her so clingy and desperate plus the actress isn't very likeable. So I guess she just didn't stand a chance. shoe20 I know you've read all the comments on the other site and all the ladies feel exactly the same way about her so it's not just me! I was actually being nice! Milady... She did have a rather hard upbringing and she did what she had to to survive. She actually reminds me of Katherine from TVD in that respect. Although I really loved Katherine. I have mixed feelings when it comes to Milady.. Last season I couldn't stand her for everything she did. Seducing and trying to frame D'artagnan for murder & framing Athos as well! This season she's slightly more redeemable with helping the men of late, but it always seems like it's more self serving than anything else. As for whether she really loves Athos I honestly can't tell! You never know what she's thinking. Anne and Constance make quite the pair indeed! Those two can definitely relate to one another. If I were forced to marry either one of those "men" which is being generous, I'd probably want to have an affair too! Aramis and D'artagnan! Can you really blame them. Constance is actually lucky because she has a real chance to be with D'artagnan now that Louise murdered her husband! Thank you girlfriend! You did the world a favor! If only Anne could be so lucky. I know she and Aramis could never marry, but it would make it easier for her to see him I think. Speaking of them... jennifer and shoe20 Did y'all think Anne knew about Aramis and Marguerite from EP6 when they were being held hostage? A lot of people thought she assumed they were because of the way Marguerite acted when she saw him and threw herself at him. Why else would she act that way? What would Anne be thinking otherwise? I didn't really think she knew because if she did I think she was taking it rather well which seemed out of character for her. She was jealous of him with Ninon back in S1 when he gave her his necklace and even asked him if she was his lover and that was BEFORE they even slept together! It was rather early on in the season. They didn't hook up till EP9. I think for some reason she's always felt this claim on him? Does it seem like that to you? She was a little jealous at the convent questioning him about Isabel too.. The look on her face when Rochefort told him about the two of them was of devastation and betrayal.. How do you think it came across? She can't really think that he would be faithful to her as much as I wish that were to be true.. I guess she just never thought it would be with their son's nanny. If she really thinks about it, she'll probably realize why he was doing it which still doesn't make him look very good. I really wish we could get a conversation between the two of them about this, but I have a feeling we won't because of everything else going down. I mean they have to worry about not losing their heads! Look what Rochefort tells the King!!! SPOILER!!!

wednesday....... I was gona search for these very gifs....(you always do it so much better) You and jennifer have to admit that was a pretty smokin' kiss....Athos started it and Milady took to it like a "duck to water" Like her or not she a lusty little wench. She's hotter than a "two dollar pistol" for Athos.... Boy, jennifer and wednesday, you guys went real easy on me with the tomatoes..... I had this mental image of being in Merlin's stocks and being pelted with a bushel of rip fruit. I wasn't trying to make excuses for Marguerite... she's truly spineless... she always had the option to tell Rochefort ..... up yours buddy "go fish". Jen: (Milady) She even had someone ready to cut her down from the hanging tree: a man, of course. She's conned people too long, it's not something she can give up or put aside, even for love (if she feels love for Athos). Don't be lured in by herToo Late, Jen.... I know what she is and what she's done.... I still want to forgive her.... She has this power over us guys like a sorceress/voodoo priestess ... I really think she's a succubus. She didn't have a pre planned man, she just charmed the noose off her neck and the pants off the "Hangman" (see what I mean?) Thanks for the girly throws of the tomatoes, I was expecting bruises.... lol
Wed: (Marguerite) when she tries to play this naive victim I just can't feel sympathy for her. I guess I can't really blame her. If Aramis was te saying nrying to put the moves on me I'd have hard time too I didn't mean for it to come off as I had any respect for Marguerite's character.... she's never done anything for me other than make me shake my head and roll my eyes. lol She was written as the weak knees Bimbo who has no backbone... totally unattractive.... Aramis might have ask her to ware an Anne mask...what cha think? Don't forget who your talking to girl..... Aramis might work, but if a guy went to a plastic surgeon came out looking like Jensen and showed up at your door..... Shoot, he would even have to talk. You'd be on him like "white on rice".... Wed: Speaking of them... jennifer and shoe20 Did y'all think Anne knew about Aramis and Marguerite from EP6 when they were being held hostage?I think Anne already knew, Wed.... He was always hanging around trying for a glimpse of his son and the hug Marguerite gave Aramis in ep6 was a little over the top for a casual acquaintance... Anne always had her brand on Aramis and knows he's attractive to other women...the Ninon necklace thing really bugged her more than Marguerite, because it was her gift to him....Do you think she didn't remember Rochefort gave it to her? Things aren't looking too great for Annamis ATM.... Put aside both of them fighting to keep their heads... the stuff Rochefort is going to unload is going to keep Louis suspicious even after the Spanish Spy stuff is debunked. I think the only path forward to happiness for them is Louis' death.. I'll hit the new points on the Manuscript later

She's hotter than a "two dollar pistol" for Athos.... No, it was too gushy, they were making slobbery noises. I do believe Milady the Succubus has reeled you in shoe20. She didn't have a pre planned man, she just charmed the noose off her neck and the pants off the "Hangman" (see what I mean?) Thanks for the girly throws of the tomatoes, I was expecting bruises.... lol Girly Throws! Well I never....to tell you the truth, my heart wasn't in a rant. Milady is interesting and unpredictable. I was disappointed she and Athos went for the predictable. I like him best as a loner in his cups, not trusting her. It made him more interesting to me. Now he's just another guy, 'anything for love' and all that. I'll have to watch that bit again about the hangman; I thought there was the insinuation her wily ways stopped the hanging (or just her body maybe?).

Maybe having his son and that secret knowledge between them was enough for her? Anne can't expect much more than that. Of course, now the one private part of her life is ripped to shreds.

Really! If she did she needs to work on her poker face! If she's trying to hide the fact that she doesn't have feelings for Aramis, that they didn't have an affair and that she did know he was sleeping with Marguerite, she certainly shouldn't have turned to him with to me was a shocked look of devastation on her face! But maybe I'm just reading things differently. That's why I really wish we could have a conversation between the two of them!! I'm sure she definitely wishes there could be something more between them, but due to her circumstances she knows that's probably highly unlikely. However given the opportunities like she had when she and Constance snuck off to the camp to see Emilie she would certainly make the most of them! Again SHE was the one that put the moves on him because he said "I thought we decided not to" and she didn't let him finish his sentence because she said she was allowed to change her mind! Yep she'd take any chance she could get to be with him!!! jennifer Maybe she did forget that it was Rochefort that gave her the necklace. I really don't know. I'm still mad at that because it really taints the significance of the necklace. Knowing that it's really the property of a total psychopath, I wouldn't want it anymore! Aramis has carried it around as something precious because she gave it to him. I think if he knew now that it was originally given to her by Rochefort he'd toss it into the river! shoe20 Being in Merlin's shoes being pelted with rotten fruit and vegetables! Poor Merlin!! No I wouldn't go that far! I don't hate Milady, I just don't know if she can truly be redeemed. She's done some pretty heinous things. You'd like for her to be able to, but I don't know. I'm like jennifer I prefer Athos as a loner. Milady would only be his downfall and I don't want to see that happen to him! I would love for Ninon to come back or at least someone like her who challenges him, not tries to break him. No, it was too gushy, they were making slobbery noises. That kills me!!!! Yeah we'll just go with that she's a succubus! Marguerite! Total waste of space! Off with her head! Don't go soft on here Anne!!!! She's responsible for an innocent man's death, tried to frame Constance, accused you of treason, lead you to Rochefort which then lead to Aramis being arrested and Anne being held prisoner in her own home!!! B-|Yep she needs to die!!! Aramis might work, but if a guy went to a plastic surgeon came out looking like Jensen and showed up at your door.....
He wouldn't need to wear a mask!!! I'd take him in a heartbeat!!!! Yep, white on rice indeed!!! If you do see EP10 before me, NOT a single word buddy! You've heard the phrase "silent as the grave!" This time I'm not reading ANY spoilers! I'm actually going to enjoy it!

I don't know about the necklace either wednesday. That answer was only about Anne. So what episode did Anne have the shocked face, was it just last week? Maybe I missed something big! My impressions did come from the tent scene, when Anne was watching Marguerite and Aramis, and Aramis looked uncomfortable and they looked very familiar with each other...that's when I assumed Anne got the point or suspected at least. You could totally be right though b/c you watch that trio more closely. I'm watching tonight on BBCA, or will go the Amazon route if there's a problem. So no spoilers from me either!! I'll be thinking of you if they execute Marguerite.

Possibly the most captivating 59mins of TV I've ever watch...seriously. I'm still racing.... It's was a non-stop roller coaster of emotions.... on the edge of my seat with anxiety....pulse racing with fear for my favorites... jumping up and yelling YES when the story fulfilled one of my wishes.... crying with happiness... and grinning from ear to ear when the boys pulled together and kicked butt.... Thank you Musketeer crew for giving me the most satisfying Finale I've watched. Right now i have to watch it again. lol I think my heart has slowed down enough. I'll save the "Snoopy's" for the thread. But how great was it everyone got a piece of Rochefort... brilliant death. Ok just one. I'm such a goofball I wrote this for a PM and posted it on the thread.... does that tell ya how excited I am???

Warning: Novel review ahead!shoe20 and jennifer Ok I'm finally able to get my thoughts together! This review will probably be all over the place so just bear with me! WOW! That was a finale!!! shoe20 You said it! One of the best by far! Like I said in my PM, I think we kinda called everything that happened! I'm so glad they saved Constance in the beginning and didn't drag it out! What a rescue!! I about freaked when I saw D'artagnan's little eyes were peaking out at her from underneath the "death trap!" Treville told Rochefort which side he was on! Going back to Constance's former home was the perfect place to gather at! It made me think of last season when they would all get together and have their little covert meetings! I loved it! My poor Aramis! I think everything that has happened since his son's birth has probably just about broken him. I know these last 2 episodes will have the most profound affect on him for who knows how long. The thought that Anne and his son could die because of their affair! That was the reason he left to go to the monastery. I think he feels like that is the only place he will be able to find peace right now. I absolutely LOVED it when Aramis was reunited with the gang and they all hugged him! Athos actually kissed him on the head! Ok to backtrack a little bit. I loved Porthos! A man on a mission to save his friends! Taking those men out one by one! Can I just say I absolutely LOVE Howard's laugh!!! It just makes me smile!!! Our gang was awesome when they showed up to help him and Constance rocked in that scene with Vargas! "You bring women to fight your battles!" "Perhaps I bring men to fight mine!" Constance should be made an honorary Musketeer! This is the Constance I love and have been missing! I love how she put D'artagnan in his place when he tried to tell her she wasn't going with them. This was her fight too because like she said she was forced to watch Lemay murdered right in front of her and she wanted justice for everyone. She is good fighter thanks to D'artagnan! She's now married to a Musketeer so she can handle herself! Their wedding was so sweet with Athos walking her down the aisle! I just wish Aramis and Anne could've been there, Aramis more so because he's their brother! Milday certainly impressed me in this episode saving Aramis the way she did. She didn't have to, but I think she really is searching for redemption and I think what Aramis said to her about taking death so lightly got through to her. I think she does love Athos and really did want to try to start over with him. I just wonder what he would've told her if he's gotten to her in time. I was really happy that Treville accepted the position to be the King's Minister of War although I don't think he was going to be given much choice, but with everything they've all been through with Rochefort I think Treville was pretty inclined to say yes this time! I think it was a wise choice making Athos the Captain. He is the leader out of the 4 of them and is the most level headed. I literally did the when Marguerite killed herself! I know I should've felt sorry for her, but I felt none! She had a HUGE part in everything that was happening to Aramis and Anne. Was Aramis wrong for using her? Yes. But like we discussed before she knew what she was getting into before hand and she's an adult. She could've stood up to Rochefort because in the end she disgraced herself in open court to everyone anyway by admitting she had an affair with him and accused the Queen of having an affair with him as well. There really was no other option for her at this point so I felt nothing but sheer joy when she was dead! Call me heartless, but I don't care! She's responsible for Lemay's death and for Constance almost losing her head as well! Rochefort has to be one of the most vile and insane villains I've ever seen on any television show! Crazy doesn't even begin to cover it! He certainly got his in the end! He was still sick trying to tell Anne that thoughts of her where what kept him alive! I love how Anne told him she never thought of him. It broke my heart watching her try not to lose it as he was describing what they were going to do to Aramis. I was almost in tears myself! I think with everything that Anne and Aramis have been through it's only made their love for each other grow stronger. I kinda wanted Aramis to be the one to actually kill Rochefort, but I think with everything that's happened to him he almost doesn't have it in him. He even wanted to go over and close his eyes and do the cross sign, but I'm glad Anne told him he didn't deserve it! Sometimes D'artagnan scares me because he revels in the kill. I know we all certainly when Rochefort died, but sometimes he does it with such gusto it's a little unsettling. I saved Louis for last because he thoroughly disgusts me! I wanted him dead just as much as I wanted Rochefort and Marguerite to die! I know he was manipulated by Rochefort, but he has been married to Anne for a long time and he didn't have the decency to hear her out. He was worried about his pride so he signed her death sentence. The only reason he was hesitating is because he didn't want to be alone, not because he loved or cared about her! He sees Anne as some trophy. Someone to stand by his side and agree with him. I hope after everything she has been through she will continue to stand up for herself because she has been absolutely amazing and shown what a real leader looks like and what it means to rule! Louis man child is so fickle his mood changes as much as we change underwear so we never know what's going to happen from one day to the next with him! It depends on what side of the bed he wakes up on that day! He is absolutely selfish!!! It really ticks me off that all is just forgiven for what he put Anne through and he gets to just stroll off with Aramis's son like some prize he won! Do you really think it's the end of Anne and Aramis? shoe20 So Anne's brother was responsible this whole time for Rochefort being there spying on them, but was told not to hurt Anne? This is why they are going to war? I loved how at the end Porthos said it didn't feel right with it being just the 3 of them there and that if Aramis knew he'd join them and go fight. Do you think that he will or that he's been too affected by everything and will want to sit it out? I think he will go with them because he'll still feel it's his duty and he'll want to be with his brothers. I don't think we've seen the last of Milady. I think she'll be back somehow. Like she told Athos, they're bound to each other. Woooo! I think I covered everything or at least close to it! Y'all know me once I get started it's hard to stop so I hope you enjoyed my novel review!

I was hooked on this finale, edge of the chair time! Certain things stood out for me so here they are: I meant to mention this last ep.: Tamla Kari did SUCH an excellent job during the two execution scenes. Her emotional responses felt so real, and looked like how most people would react to watching someone murdered, then facing it yourself. Constance is always so brave that her emotions were like seeing another side to her. Not a weak side, just a very human side. Marguerite's suicide. This one was rough for me. My sense was she had to get out and there was no way to do that with Rochefort always hanging over her, using her, threatening her, so she finally took the only option available to her. I don't know that I'd rather have seen her go to trial and been hanged or killed by Rochefort though. Not sure what I'm saying here! Conflicted. Porthos! I loved his entire scene too, wednesday. Really his whole performance. His relationship with Aramis is so sweet, and Treville giving him his sword was a moving moment, kind of like saying, "I know your Dad turned out to be a dick but you always have me." The Rochefort thing was overdone imo. I was hoping for more of a 1:1 intense scene with someone. It does make sense to the story since all were betrayed by him and forced into horrible situations over the season. No sympathy here, only an "aha" moment when they talked about Rochefort as a creation of Vargas', that he was a monster because Vargas made him so. I found that part enlightening for the character arc. So, there was so much action and wrap-up, then suddenly, like a thorough housecleaning, everything was back to normal! Better than normal with the wedding, Athos becoming captain, Milady leaving (not for long like you said wednesday), and even Aramis heeding his bargain with God. I doubt it will last but his conviction is moving. He's always been a lover more than a fighter, even though he's an excellent fighter. I felt sad for him that everything went back to the way it was with him on the outside and not much access to his son. Constance is taking care of him though - excellent choice!
