wednesday .... I sat down to write my review and realized after reading
your "Novel review"
again, you didn't leave much unsaid. You just did too good of job writing down my thoughts.
hehe
As one buzzard said to the other " You pick that carcass clean"
As I said before, it was probably the most satisfying finale I've every watched..... The writers hit all the points I wanted to see, head on, and then went on to tie up all the loose ends....
This season was romance weighted and much darker than S1, but the show runners managed to take all three romances to the happiest possible conclusion that the story line would allow. Brilliant....
Then they set the stage for S3 ... Athos as Capt leading the brothers to war...with Treville still guiding them as "War Minister" (at least "Little John Louis" has a voice in his ear that loves France and the "Muskies", who better than Treville to pull the strings of our beloved "Manchild Marionette "? Mr "Open mouth...Insert Thumb" Not Treville's style though.
You ask if there would be more Aramis and Anne.... Silly girl, of course. The attraction and love they share is not going away.... I was really glad that Aramis was going to follow through with going to the monastery and try and find peace.... This season had to tear him up wanting to be with Anne and his son.....
But like he said.... He would do anything to assure their safety... even going away.... (It will be interesting in S3 if the writers let him control his active libido and stay true to the family he can't have.....OMG there's some angst. Honestly I don't think Anne wants a celibate life for him....I do feel cheated they had no alone time to talk about Marguerite and their feelings.... It just didn't fit in the flow of the episode)
I loved
the ending with the boys riding down the same tree lined lane they rode out on in the S1 finale and back in on in the S2 premier..... nice continuity writers
Racing each other to go get their brother
I already know the opening scene of S3
Of course Aramis will go with his brothers to was.. It's his duty.... But not only that..... he doesn't allow those he loves to be in harms way with out having their back.... That's Aramis' core... he emotionally invests himself in the people he loves.
It's so nice to invest myself in a series that someone sat down and thought about the story they wanted to tell and stuck with it....(rather than checking SM for the next story arc and scene.
)
Wed: shoe20 So Anne's brother was responsible this whole time for Rochefort being there spying on themI do think that's the assumption being made by Louis & Co..but I'm not absolutely sure that's correct. Vargas being head "Spy Guy" could have been acting on his own with the Rochefort caper.... I didn't hear dialogue that he was acting on direct orders from the King of Spain...... If he was acting alone and ended up starting the war, I sure he'll be joining Rochefort in the "sweet bye and bye" lol
Milady de WinterThank you
writers for not making me look like a complete stooge supporting Milady and her wicked ways this season.... I knew there was something worth rooting for deep down. (Athos does too)... It was perfect how they finished the season with them.... Milady layed all her cards face up and told Athos she wanted him.... The wedding just reminded Athos of how much he wants back what they had.... although I know he wasn't going to meet her to leave for England with her.... He wanted to tell her he still has the same feelings for her, but the duty of leading his brothers into war has to come first....
I'd bet ya my best horse, we'll see that glove again next season.... he may keep it tucked under his sash.... Their next meeting he'll have to be the one to lay himself bare, because Milady thinks he rejected her...... Also frees her to continue using her body to get her way.... ( I honestly don't think the sex mean much to her, it just a tool... a means to an end....power and security)
The glove will be the big "Ice breaker" for their relationship to go forward, and as smart as these writers are it may not surface till the second or third meeting.... Milday will be the "Muskie" Spy in the English Court during the was and will probably liaise with Treville and Anne.....Milday has seen more of the thumb sucker than anyone should be subjected to.
Hiatus would be a good time for Louis to take that permanent vacation to paradise.
I just can't envision where their going to take his character.... he only works as a dufus that someone manipulating and Treville is not going to be the Cardinal or Rochefort.... Surely he's not going to play with Aramis' son all day.... Even though according to Louis is like looking in a mirror.... Give me a break "Manchild"..... it's like looking at the North end of a Southbound Mule.
The post wouldn't be complete without a little dance for Rochefort's demise.... Perfect... everyone got a swing at him.....Snoopy had his chance to cut a rug, so..... Happy Dance...
Adiós Rochefort, you Snake Funny,
I thought this was gona be short....
