Like TVD, I've been having a falling out with the show. The campiness/cheesiness is just too much at times and Sookie is insufferable. I liked that they kind of went all around with creatures but at times it felt half-assed or just downright not doing justice. To the latter, the Werepanthers. Backwoods, inbred country 'folk' Just...wow. And I've felt that never concluded. Werewolves are another sore point, especially with the V fixation for them. It's only 10 episodes but not sure if I'll tune in for the final season =/

Trubies...where you at? Just watched the season premiere, did anyone else? I like the show, but I'm not necessarily a "trubie." I did watch the premiere though, and I have to say, it was pretty good. We got to see all of our favorite characters again (where was Eric BTW. Sigh!), and it tied up some of the plot from last season. I was a little disappointed that Tara died (wink wink), but who knows, it might end up being good for the story by galvanizing everyone to do something about the mess they've found themselves in. I felt really bad for Sookie though, cause Tara was her best friend, and now she's gone. Plus, she has to deal with the fact that everyone hates and blames her for everything that happened, with the added torture of hearing what everyone really thinks about her. (That power of hers is a real b***.) Jason complaining about his "blue balls" was one of the funniest scenes of the show. Really hilarious stuff! Thankfully his "girlfriend" finally caved and allowed him to get some of his "frustrations" out. Poor guy. (BTW, try not to do that ladies, it's no fun for us guys.) Also, it looks like Jackson from the Originals is Jessica's boyfriend now. I guess they decided to change the previous actor. Oh well, it's not that big of a deal anyway. I get the feeling that this role might fit him a bit better than it did on TO. His sort of passive mentality is more apropos here. I'm bummed I didn't get to see Eric. True Blood isn't the same without him. I wonder what happened? Last time we saw him he was burning up in the sun. And now Pam is scouring the earth looking for him, obviously thinking he's still alive. But would the show be stupid enough to kill him off? One of the more popular characters they have? (Hmm... remind you of someone? lol) I doubt whether they will, but the mystery is killing me right now. I hope Pam finds him, cause he's definitely missed. True Blood is a fun, campy, hilarious, bloody mess of a show. And as long as you don't take it that seriously, it can be a fun ride. I'm glad it's back.

Trubies...where you at? Just watched the season premiere, did anyone else? Patients woman. lol "D" hit a lot of my points. (nothing new) I was really looking forward to the return, been a long time. Alcide and Sookie just don't quite do it for me, she needs Eric, but in keeping with TB's standard of having Sookie work her way through the cast, I get it. He's just a little substandard to hold her "DH" interest for long. lol Obviously, Sam and Andy will never get a shot. @dman24, I think Jessica may have some competition with Layfette for her new boo. =) I'm with ya where's Eric Northman? It's great to keep Pam's character so connected to her maker. Jayson's new flame is hot. (pun intended) I did like Tara's character and was sry to see her head to the other side, that's no longer there. lol bet they don't bring her back. So the theme of this season is going to be "protect your bloodbag"? Bon Temps is going to be a hot bed of problems (again, nothing new) Just bring Eric back to town. I though Anna Paquin looked great after having her baby. Sookie should send Elena a case of "True Blood" and tips on honing her "DH" rep. =)

Trubies...where you at? Just watched the season premiere, did anyone else? I am right here.
I loved the season premier. Though it was sad that Tara died. I do not care for Sookie and Alcide. Love Jason and his balls. I hope Sookie and Bill get back together again. He is her one true love.
It is sad to know this is the final season. Hopefully they will go out with a bang.
Did anyone notice the actor who plays Lafayette's Vamp partner is the same guy who plays the wolf on The Originals, I forget his name, but the one who is suppose to be betrothed to Hailey. This actor is busy. I remember he was also on General Hospital, a soap opera in the U.S.

Talk about an unceremonious death. RIP Tara. I was sad but at the same time I wasn't that thrilled when they decided to turn her into a vamp. Having her sacrifice herself for Sookie and getting killed for it should have ended that, and have Sookie deal with the aftermath of that guilt. Because she didn't seem all too guilty about making her a vamp. oh Sookie.
I thought the premiere was fun for the most part as it almost had all the elements I enjoy from True Blood, Jason antics (finally Jason gets relief!...that backside, whew Ryan Kwanten, nice) and LaLa antics (Jess is totally going to lose her man to Lafayette, at least I hope so) and Andy Bellefleur is becoming my favorite every season. Seriously, the path his character has taken from season 1 to now is just fantastic. I'll make an Angel reference, Andy is like the Wesley Wyndam Price of True Blood.
What was lacking? That is obvious. ERIC FREAKING NORTHMAN. Pam better find him, and they both better ride off in the (not so sunny) sunset together, alive and like a boss. Besides they need to come back and clear out all the hep v vamps out of Fangtasia.
End game appears to be Sookie and Bill, sorry Alcide.

Nice cold open for True Blood last night! Thus proving Eric Northman has sexual chemistry with EVERYBODY. But please please please can we not have Eric die from the hepV virus!?! C'mon! You might as well just had him die in a blaze of naked glory on that mountaintop.
And I love Alcide for his wolfy sexiness, but it just seems his character has outlived his usefulness on the show, and is now just the object standing in the way of Sookie & Bill. Very boring arc for me right now because it just isn't a compelling dynamic, maybe that is because I don't feel a strong connection between Alcide and Sookie.
Also, is Pam too locked in to finding Eric that she couldn't feel the death of her own progeny? I hope sometime soon they address Pam's reaction to Tara's death.

I felt the episode was a little boring. Did not like the Jason and Erik scene in the beginning. It was just nasty in my opinion. Alcide and Sookie definitely do not have any chemistry at all.
I didn't learn anything new in this episode. They need to speed things up a bit, we only have 10 episodes left before the end.

Hard to believe its 10 episodes then it is all over for good. I am really going to miss some of these characters.

Like you, I thought the opening scene was totally unnecessary. I'm not h...fobic, but they took my two favorite male leads, both of them are at the opposite end of the sex line from Lafayette and put them in bed...........WHAT FOR? It did nothing to advance the SL, so all I can assume is it was for shock value. JUST WRONG. I agree Alcide and Snookie have exactly no chemistry....Warlow was more interesting and that was close to zero, too. Snookie needs to be with Eric or Bill ...... I wouldn't even mind giving Sam a couple of weeks, he's earned it. LOL Ah, Sookie the "Danger Hoar", my favorite line of her's last year. LOL Funny I don't have a problem with Sookie working her way through the cast..... like I do Elena. Why's that?

shoe20 Because Sookie is so irritating that I don't even hope for her to be redeemed. So might as well let her sleep with all the hot guys on the show. Granted in the books she was DH so it fits. It is funny I honestly have zero ships for True Blood. I love that they gave Eric and Sookie a season (it was the best book moments too, shower scene!) but I am not pining away for that couple if they do or don't happen. Even though I really am not a fan of Bill (he is even worse in the books) I actually am not adverse to him ending up with Sookie either. But I am with you, let Sam get a chance! Doubtful that will happen with him having a baby on the way (booo on that SL *yawn*) besides it looks like he might get shot next episode or something (morphs into something at the last second maybe). Would love to have Sam, Jason, and Andy team up to save the town yet again, very reminiscent of season 2 with Maryann. One of my favorite seasons!

Well I guess we don't have to worry about the lack of Alcide and Sookie chemistry no more. The showrunner is being flat out ruthless with unceremonious death scenes. Loved the moment with Reverend Daniels and Willa, loved that backstory moment for him.

Finally the show is picking up the pace. OMG! they killed off Alcide. Did not see that coming.
Love Willa. I hope she won't die.
It was nice to see Bill and Sookie working together for a change, instead of against each other.
