I see Ms. Glau is as pretty as ever. Felicity, you have some actual competition now. No, Laurel is not in the running.
Anywho, Oliver went *BACK* to the island? What!? Is he just comfortable there or what? His family and friends thought he went to Europe but Dig and Felicity had to track him down back to the island where he's back in his old home.
He comes home to a mess of sorts. His family's company is about to be taken over and he's put in a spot where because of his parent's attachment to the Undertaking, it would be hard to get needed money to buy the shares for majority ownership, his mom is in prison awaiting trial and people have taken up the whole vigilante thing and dealing out their own justice in a radical way. What remains of the Glades is a mess with crime out of hand. Good on Thea for stepping in and keeping the club open and Roy too for helping out in more ways than one (the bar and trying to do some good at a cost and risk to himself).
Laurel now works for the DA and wants the 'Hood' brought down cause of the whole Tommy thing. I'm mixed on this. Yay, he's gone and is a bullet point for keeping the 2 apart but Eh to them being hung up on it and dancing around it so it's going to cause this awkward tension when those feelings do arise. Laurel is just...ugh. I just can't like her character. She took some more self defense classes and boy was I praying that she would get her head blown off and we'd be done with her. Boy...was I praying...
We got a glimpse at Canary, who saves Roy who tried to save a girl being harassed.
Lol at Felicity keeping the bars cause she liked seeing Oliver use them. Nice move by Oliver in getting her out of there when the gunmen showed up. Jumping out a window and grabbing a blinds chain to swing to a lower level? Risky. On the matter of not having the money to buy the needed shares to keep from losing the company, was glad to see Walter come to the rescue and buy the extra 5% Oliver needed to keep the business/go forward as partners so Glau's character (need to look up the name) can't do anything really without both parties agreeing.
Back on the island in the flashbacks, we see that some new party has arrived looking for something.

Slash for some reason i cant with Laurel's character. She gets on my nerves and i cannot explain why! I see now her dad is just a regular officer I was glad to see Walter back and was actually surprised because i forgot about him so when he walked in i was like awww yay! felicity was on point this episode I enjoy her presence on screen so much. I am glad Laurel and Oliver are not together. let it stay like that and its weird that canary looked slightly like Laurel so who knows if writers are trying to trick us. i know its doubtful but still. I like how Felicity stands up to oliver telling him what he needs to here. and how she upgraded his place. Looks like china white is back next episode

It's just something about the way she's presented that is all wrong to me and annoying. Also don't like how she gets into stuff or acts like she can handle it and things go wrong for her. I remember when the one guy came to her apartment and she had the shotgun and after one blast, she jams the thing Tonight, she could have died playing hero. I also don't like the fact that she's targeting the Hood because of Tommy's death. Tommy died trying to save her ass from saving some files (if I remember correctly) and even then, she can't point her finger at the Hood as being responsible for the circumstances cause the Undertaking was long in motion and wasn't some end game for some Archer v Archer war like she thinks. This isn't the first time she's flip-flopped on the Hood either. Yep, forgot about Walter too. Was nice to see the little hello/acknowledgement between him and Felicity. Felicity really does give Oliver a kick every now and then that he needs. She's pretty vital for him outside of a tech role and friendship role in that regard. China White and Bronze Tiger next episode. Oliver will have his hands full.

Nice synopsis Slash. I agree on Laurel, and I don't get the "bring down the hood thing" either. Boy Oliver looked awfully comfortable on top of Felicity after he saved her, took his time getting up too. lol Black Canary's got skills, and easy on the eyes. How close did Oliver come to saying "green arrow" at the end, I swear I heard it. Still the best choreographed fight scenes on TV. Looks like Marvel's found a home now that they saturated the movie market. lol

How close did Oliver come to saying "green arrow" at the end, I swear I heard it. Still the best choreographed fight scenes on TV. Looks like Marvel's found a home now that they saturated the movie market. lol Laurel is blaming the Hood/Malcolm for Tommy's demise despite Tommy dying trying to save her who was trying to save files during a man made earthquake I just don't like the Tommy's death angle right now cause it's just going to muck things up further or be looming for quite some time (like with Oliver now wanting to change his name/mission to honor Tommy's memory simply because the guy jumped to conclusions and called his bestie a murderer/was hurt Oliver didn't tell him about his secret). Even in death, Tommy is ruining the show with his partner in crime Laurel still doing a bang up job on her own. I'm now wondering if Oliver is going to get Felicity to make him some specialty arrows. He's got a problem with killing now so I wonder if he'll want some more less lethal options at a range (instead of having to go hand-to-hand) such as taser arrows or something of that sort. Problem with that, in a real world setting unlike the comics, he's got to sort/select them in the heat of battle while being shot at with guns if he goes that route. Marvel is still moving ahead with the movies, even more so now and going bigger. SHIELD just offers them another route for heroes/villains who don't make the cut for movies (lesser heroes) and can spin out from there if they choose. The + to Marvel's approach is that SHIELD is still tied into the movie universe (MCU). DC needs to do the same. They're doing it with both the Arrow and upcoming Flash show being in the same universe but then they've got a variety of other shows on the way on different networks that could make a unified universe hard, not including the recent Man of Steel movie and the upcoming Batman-Superman one. Kind of wondering if we'll see Canary next episode. Oliver has to take on China White and Bronze Tiger himself it seems in hand-to-hand so it'd be nice to see him have another team up that doesn't go south (Huntress...-_-).

Slash, I shouldn't have said I don't get Laurel, I do. Her blaming the hood and Oliver's guilt over Tommy are simple plot devices to keep them apart. That guy was sooo close to pulling the trigger. prob solved. I like the custom arrow idea - maybe an instant paralytic. Whatever we know Felicity won't have any trouble coming up with the ideal solution. ha I've always enjoyed he fast they let Oliver shoot and reload, and what about his quiver - is it mind-linked or what - he always gets the right arrow for the occasion. Maybe you can help, because I forget which ep. But the bad guy knew how many arrows hood carried (32 I think) so that's how many minions he hired for protection. I LMAO That was just too good. Glad it's back this season should be fun.

Think he keeps 24 in a quiver. It was the one with TVD's John Gilbert. He sent 25 guys I think cause he knew the Hood would be out of arrows.

ARROW’: FIVE SCOOPS! Enjoy the season premiere of Arrow? So did I! And if you’re anything like me, the episode left you hungry for more. So here are some teases to whet your appetite.
Vertigo returns. Arrow is far from done protecting Starling City from one of the most dangerous drugs around, says Haynes. But the reappearance of Vertigo will also mean the return of some of Roy Harper’s skeletons. “Vertigo comes back into the storyline this season and that could set up a possible appearance from somebody from Roy’s past, which, in a way it does with the character Sin (Bex Taylor-Klaus),” he reveals. “[Sin] starts to make Thea a little curious about what happened in their past, and she’s definitely a big part of helping Roy and Thea grow closer…you’ve got to break them apart a bit to make them grow stronger.”
John Barrowman’s return as the Dark Archer: Not what you might think. News of John Barrowman’s return sent fans clamoring to Speculation City, and exec producer Marc Guggenheim wouldn’t have it any other way. “We said at Comic-Con that John was coming back — but we didn’t say when and we didn’t say how. So, I’m going to continue to not spoil that. But I will remind everybody that you know we tell stories in two different time periods — we’re actually doing an episode where Oliver sort of has hallucinations, we’re doing flashbacks from different people’s perspectives,” he says. “OK, I’ll make a joke — we’ve got a lot of different arrows in our quiver. So just because you think you may know something doesn’t mean that you know how it’s going to happen.”
Barry Allen/Flash (Grant Gustin) — will he anger Olicity shippers? Haynes was happy to report that he quickly got along with new cast member Grant Gustin (they bonded over IKEA, in case you were wondering), but there’s one segment of folks who may not be so happy about the arrival of Barry Allen. Namely, Olicity fans. “I know his chemistry with Emily [Rickards] is electric,” says Haynes. “Olicity shippers are going to be in for a little rude awakening this season. I don’t know if they’re going to get what they want.”
Another death? Are you — like Oliver and Co. — still reeling from the death of Tommy? Then you better brace yourself. “I would say there is one more fatality that is coming up,” Guggenheim says.
Summer Glau reveal coming. We met her in the season premiere, but there’s still much for the audience to learn about Summer Glau’s Isabel Rochev. “She has a surprising connection to the Queen family, which will be revealed in episode 8,” teases EP Andrew Kreisberg. “She’s not an adversary for the Arrow, she’s really an adversary for Oliver.”

Yeah, so far, my favorite scene in the episode. And to hell with Laurel I wanted to do her harm after her little speech abiut the Hood while/after talking to Roy (who was carrying a red arrow with him). Just sickening her fixation is. And what the bloody hell was she doing on the scene when the police showed up? And kudos to Roy for doing something about the stolen medicine. Edit: Yeah, go die in a fire Laurel After explaining what her deal is now with the Hood, Oliver should have put 2 in her chest. Saddest thing is we're stuck with this sorry character.

Really Laurel? In one episode, I don't think I could be any more sick of her. Canary next week! And Roy getting in somewhat with helping the Hood now. Episode was amazing/funny between Oliver, Felicity & Dig. Love the friendship between these 3. So to close this, f*** Laurel
