They have the chemistry. You can't fake that, as actors they just connect. Honestly I think because of Ian and Nina's personal lives altered their on screen chemistry. When they were dating, their on screen chemistry was undeniable...but once their personal lives changed you could see the shift. You could "see" the acting. It was no longer natural. But Kat and Ian have a natural chemistry. Sadly, it's so true crim. They just don't have that chemistry anymore. It was evident to me in the first episode. It's a shame though, cause now is when they really need it. Sigh!

They are just better matched in every way. He needs a strong female to call him on his sh*t, and is powerful. Elena is none of those things and hasn't been for awhile now. He doesn't bring out Elena's strength but makes her weaker. Bonnie matches his strength and is fiesty and fearless. Just overall a far more compelling dynamic. If this show had any balls they would shift to Bon/Damon/Elena as more the triangle. Instead of Damon being insecure about Elena's love but Damon instead struggling with having real feelings for Bonnie. That conflict would be intriguing.

I'm interested in Bamon as a couple for the first time after last night. They're fun, they challenge each other, they're physical with each other in an natural way, like fighting over the cart. Bonnie acts like herself, more feisty than when she was younger. The big difference is how Damon acts. Even in their situation, his spirit is lighter and more spontaneous. He walked on eggshells around Elena until he couldn't, then was angry with her or did something stupid. Bonnie and Damon tell it like it is. I agree the triangle you're suggesting would be far more interesting and less tortuous crimmyj.

Not to sound crude, but the show kinda lost it's "balls" when Kevin left. Ha! Even though I despise the "triangle", I wouldn't mind seeing it if it was Bonnie/Damon/Elena. At-least it's something different, which makes it infinitely more compelling than the trite former version. Though that could cause conflict with Bonnie and Elena, which isn't something I would want. But the curiosity is very very tempting.

So yeh, i dunno

It really must be a sign of the apocalypse!
