shoe20wednesday and I have kinda turned this into our chat thread (but at least we're chatting about the topic...lololol) She has an uncanny ability to get me excited about a series... and I'm really enjoying this one.....
You're killing me with the compliments and making me blush! That' so sweet of you to say though so thank you. ;)We do try our best don't we! It's definitely one of my faves!!!  I've got good news for ya....Rochefort will only be in one more episode.....this is more than a prophesy. lol IMDB lists full cast and the # of eps they will be in.....Rochefort's in 5 (2014/15) and he played in the first 4 this season... My question is who do you want to take him out?
I don't always go by IMDB because if you notice on the others like Constance it only lists how many episodes she's been in right now so I'm not getting my hopes up yet. We know he'll be in EP7 for sure because of the pics. EP8 I'm not sure about yet because he wasn't in the first batch, but they usually release more later so that could be some time this week. I don't care who takes him out! As long as he's dead!!!!  For some reason I kinda wish it would be Aramis. Maybe because he's all stalker crazy over Anne and probably because he'll be gunning for Aramis soon so yeah Aramis gets my vote!!! You bet we'll do the happy dance when he dies!!! Snoopy can join the penguins!  I remembered it was 103, but not the name of the episode..... It's my "half-timers" affection. lol
The way I sort the files doesn't include episode names.
It's colder than a "well diggers belt-buckle" today.... good day to watch 107,8,9 Three of my faves.... Actually, there's been something about every ep I like..... rare for me....I really don't remember the names of them either. It's usually by the numbers or a pic of the episode that will trigger everything for me. I told you I went on an obsessive kick and watched it 2 or 3 times in a row!  Crazy I know!!! I'm like you too. I think there is some great stuff in each episode.  Certain scenes and lines usually by my guy!!! .gif) I think my least favorite was the one when Porthos went back to the Court of Miracles in EP5, but they still had moments that I liked in it. I think I like the pilot and 6, 7, 8 and 9 the best.  Constance was really brave, risking her life to save Henry (I'm not sure the series name either, maybe wednesday knows....Wiki says: Louis XIII, Anne, and their son Louis XIV) Any way Constance had to know how much she was rolling the dice.
what "series" are you talking about? Are you talking about a movie or tv show? I finally found my left handed sword fighter.(108 the Challenge) right at the beginning when the 4 red guard took on the boys... They must have a never ending supply of these "Red Guard" dudes the way the boys run through em (should be) run em through, right?I'm so happy for you!!!! I know that must've made your day!!! Now you feel represented right!  Absolutely they should run them through! You think the red guards would've learned their lessons by now not to mess with the musketeers!  Morons! Actually these 4 remind me of Jack Sparrow on a horse..
That is too funny!  But now I can totally see that! Sounds like you have lived quite the life!

jennifer I'm more of a casual watcher wednesday and shoe20, when comparing my thoughts to your extensive insights.
You think this is extensive! This is nothing! You should've seen me in the TW thread! Right shoe20 I like to drove him mad! When I become passionate or excited about a show look out!!!!  shoe20 knows me well! I'm just glad you've both enjoyed it. I really like discussing it with y'all!  Plus I'm the same way, I haven't been this excited about a new show in awhile. One thing about Milady is they push her as a villain so much that you start to wonder if that's all there is to her. So it's really hard to know if she loved Athos. It looked like it. I'm wondering if both things happened with the brother, that he found out she was a commoner & thief so he figured he could take her with no repercussions.
Yes they do make her out to be a total villain, but something horrible must've happened in her past before she met Athos. Maybe we could get some flashbacks. I'd rather spend more time with our guys honestly, but it might make us understand her more. We know she was a cheat and criminal, but what happened to put her in that position?  You really think Athos's brother could've done that to her? I guess we really won't know since he'd dead and there's no one else to tell the story. You can't really believe much that comes out of her mouth. shoe20 She may not exactly be evil, but she does evil things. I don't know about you, but I'd certainly call murder evil. I'm kind of enjoying Rochefort as the foil but thanks for the news that he's leaving shoe. His obsession with Anne is creepy. Maybe Aramis takes him out, if he finds out about his advances toward Anne? The Cardinal & Milady together were so much more effective trying to undermine the Musketeers than Rochefort is. He's just a brown noser. I agree shoe that Milady will get her revenge whether she's the one to kill Rochefort or not. She's scary
Yep! Just like I said above! I'm hoping it's Aramis for this very reason!!! I really miss the Cardinal. He was more entertaining because you never really knew what he was going to do. Rochefort is kinda predictable. He lurks, stalks Anne and just kills people. That's getting old. And yes he's the biggest brown noser ever! Milday is scary because look at how she kills! She just walked by the Ambassador and stuck him on the hand and poisoned him. No one would really suspect her! Maybe she'll do the same thing to Rochefort!  I think d'Artagnan is my favorite sword fighter of the bunch. He gets some extra moves. Aramis is the sharp-shooter. Porthos is the street fighter, using his fists and objects as often as swords and guns. What's Athos? Maybe he's good at everything but doesn't stand out. I like that the show is pretty clear about each Musketeer's faults as well as the good points. Athos can be overly bitter and arrogant at times, left over from his Lordly days I suspect. Then he's such a good mentor to d'artagnan. I noticed it more with this ep. wednesday after you mentioned it. They're good together.
I think you're right with your assessment of their skills. D'artagnan certainly goes at it with gusto! I love it when they fight with two swords! Aramis sometimes fights with a gun and a sword!  Yep he's right, women have a thing for musketeers! I agree about Athos. He doesn't exactly stand out which is why I find it strange in the pilot that they said he was the best swordsman of the musketeers. I beg to differ. I think Aramis was better than he was back then. Keep in mind D'artagnan wasn't a musketeer. I do love all the friendships. I think it's time for me to go on a gif spree soon! shoe20 The show runners were really smart having the "boot camp" They obviously paid attention to the actors natural talents.... d'Artagnan is by far the best with a sword.......Porthos is a natural "brawler" .... Aramis a believeable "sharp shooter/ chick magnet" ............ Athos is the brooding glue that holds them together.Agreed although I find it funny because Luke said he was having the most trouble remembering all the moves. He obviously improved a lot this season! Did you check out the videos I mentioned on P3? So I'll have to go with Jack Sparrow when it comes to Catherine's shot through the rope: "It's possible but not probable." LOL
Great line!!! LOVE Jack Sparrow!!! Did anyone notice the little boy at the end when the guys rode away? I wonder if he was thinking he'd like to be a Musketeer? That's the impression I got from the look on his face. I just finished watching it so that's the only reason I asked that specific question!

On THE MUSKETEERS episode 6, can Milady be trusted?
I didn't realize that was Porthos tied up with Rochefort. My poor Aramis!!! They make it look like Milday shot him!!! Friday can't get here fast enough!! We also have a new HOD!!! Fridays are must see tv!!!

wednesday (Milady de Thread) and jennifer.... here's what I come up with on Porthos' dad. (yep, still bugging me..lol) wednesdayWe know from ep 201 the discussion between Treville and General De Foix that Porthos dad's name is Belgard and his mother Samra (dead)... We also know what ever happened was bad and occurred in Islam. Emma Hamilton is scheduled to play Eleanor Belgard... She's a very light skined Aussie blond, so my guess is half sister... No other Belgard's that I could find.... I still have no clue what happened but it could be major for Porthos. It seemed to weigh heavy on de Foix's soul. Milady de Thread, (I like that, ha) the reason I went with IMDB on the Rochefort thing, is on the extended cast page they seem to be posting the complete both seasons roster..... The boys all are down for 20 eps .. Hey, we'll see if my guess of only one more for him pans out..... I can only be off by 4...  I actually don't care who shoots the "snake", I'm just hoping for this one to be bloody.

Poor Anne!!! I wish Aramis would walk over to Louis, punch him in the face, take his son, and ride off with Anne!! I wish Athos would out Milady like the fraud she is!!  Louis was a brat last season, but he has become unbearable now. What made him such a selfish little creep flaunting Milady like that in front of everyone in the palace and humiliating the queen!!! Ugh! He's almost as disgusting as Rochefort!  I really miss the Cardinal! He kept Louis in line and put him in his place!

shoe20 I know that was bugging me about Porthos's dad too and you could be right. That will be an interesting episode to see and I'll be happy to find out about his past. Poor Porthos.  He has always wondered about what happened to his father. I still don't understand why Treville just doesn't tell him!!!  Milady de Thread! I didn't see the extended cast roster. I hope you are right then and we get rid of him ASAP!!! We better get Snoopy ready!!!  Yep! Don't care who takes him out! I hope it's painful!  Maybe it should be Milady. I still liked parts of it, it just wasn't my favorite one. I did like how the guys were trying to rescue him. Especially the end where Aramis asked Porthos if he thought that they'd abandon him and he told them not for a minute! Eclipse was just the name of the clip they put out so that's why I left it that way. wednesday, I think the Porthos' dad thing is really bad, otherwise Treville would have told him already....  The writers have a big challenge writing this series, because we all know they're not going to kill one of the boy's.... So they have to come up with angst and conflict through their love life and character challenges. I like the fact they departed from the usual SL early and used the book as more of a guide to the characters (that's one thing that's kept it fresh for me)  No, you didn't mention "Forever" before, but I'm glad you did..... It wrote a really good hooker for me... I just followed your "bread crumbs" I'm definitely going to give it a try..... Probably get some tonight.... (side note)... I just did a double take and was scratching my head trying to decide if I was posting to our PM or the thread. LMBOThread it is.....Don't you worry your "BB", I've got Snoopy qued up in the wings for Rochefort's demise.... I''m locked and loaded, there maybe multiple Snoops.... I really can't envision a bigger wedge than Milady, can you? OK, you've shamed me into posting on the TO thread tomorrow.

It must be horrendous if he's keeping it from him! I just think this is going to put a HUGE wedge between them that's going to have long lasting affects. Hopefully whatever reasons Treville kept it from him, Porthos will understand that he had his best interests at heart. So they have to come up with angst and conflict through their love life and character challenges. I wish they'd focus more on the guys though. This season in a way has been kinda all over the place and less focus on the guys. Last season we had more character development and character building or at least male bonding! I miss seeing the guys all working together. They're just now getting back to that. I'm still waiting for the big reveal on Aramis's background. Next season I want less palace and more Musketeers! I know they work to protect the king and  but I liked how they had missions and were together more. I also loved Constance being more involved. I just hope there are some big changes and we get back to a S1 feel. I'm sure we'll still have the love life angst! I just wonder how all of this is going to unfold with Aramis and his son! It's got to be absolute torture watching Louis prance around with his son! They've really written Louis well (and Rochefort) No redeeming qualities what so ever.... Speaking of "Forever" (how's that for a segway?) .. It's in the que, I went with "Merlin" for the snow storm..... Your right about the postaholics on Spoiler.... they'd just muck up the thread....

But.... they can't do that every episode..... That's what took me a season to get addicted to SPN.... Hopping in/on the car/horse and doing a mission every week would get stale.... they need time apart to develop their characters .... then when they're together the comparison/contrast has some depth. They support and make each other better.... It's kinda a family thing... they don't shy away from calling each other out but get red eyes if anyone else does it. Outsiders be ware, your not just pick'n a fight with one, and it will end in a "dirt nap"....OH Yeeeeaaaaaa. The Musketeers probably need a warning lable on the back of their tunics....  |
