wednesday, Did Athos' brother really try to rape Milady, or come on to him? So this episode it was the five musketeers. lol I loved Treville joining the boys for a little dustup. Catherine, what a bitter b*** and what's with her gunning up at the end..... going after Milady, maybe? And no one shoots a rope at that distance when Athos was strung up. lol I tend to overlook what they can do with those terriblely inaccurate pistols. She really has a case against Milady, doesn't she. I enjoyed the writers taking Athos back to his roots and giving us some more backstory....... How happy did he and Milady look running in the field.... Are you seeing her side alittle? More later, gona watch it again.....

What if Athos brother really tried to rape Milady? Athos didn't believe her and tried to hang her for selfdefense? He hates her for killing his brother although deep inside he still loves her. Maybe she only became the woman she is in present because Athos didn't believe her and left her on her own. Those times were dangerous for a woman without the protection of a family or husband. She had to fight with all options (even the unfair and cruel ones) to stay alive. What if Athos would have believed her... maybe they would still be a happy couple. And what if the truth (if it is the truth) comes out now. Will they find their way back to each other?
I liked this episode although I was a little disappointed to not get more input on the other storylines. My fave storyline right now is D'artagan & Constance and Aramis & Anne. And I am so curious how Anne and Constance will handle the fact that Constance knows about Anne and Aramis.
Well... next week then

shoe20 If I recall correctly she murdered him because he found out about her past and was going to tell Athos. She didn't want him to ruin what they had and just claimed that he tried to rape her, but Athos knew that his brother would never do something like that. I can't remember which episode that was in so I'd have to rewatch them which I wouldn't mind! Milday obviously resents Athos for what he did to her because she really did love him and he tried to kill her, but she also had seduced the guy in the village because he was the one who cut her down otherwise she would've died. She's not all innocent like she claimed which is why I don't believe his brother tried to hurt her. I really enjoyed this episode. No it didn't exactly follow the rest of the other stories, but it felt more like S1 with all of the guys working together and I loved that!! We've really been missing that lately plus I loved the fact that we weren't having to deal with Rochefort and Louis at the palace! Having a break from creepy and little temper tantrums was a breath of fresh air!!! I love seeing Athos and D'artagnan's friendship continue to grow and how D'artagnan got through to him. I loved that Aramis got a break from all the heartache he's having to endure from his son and Anne. He was able to help his friends and save other people which as he said is what makes him feel most alive! Even though Treville may not technically be Capt. right now he's still very much in charge and he certainly proved that in this episode and the guys are more than willing to still take orders. The fight scenes were amazing! I think the guys did a great job especially since they all do their own stunts!!! Poor Porthos. I wish Treville would just go ahead and be honest with him. He's going to find out the truth sooner or later and I'd rather it come from his father figure than someone else. shoe20 Catherine was a crazy b***!!! I don't think we've seen the last of her!!! I think she will definitely go after Milday and honestly I don't blame her. I've heard rumors that there could be a death at the end of the season. I'm hoping it will be Rochefort or Bonacieux! I could even handle it being Milady as long as it's not Constance!!!!! I'm dying to see next week after all the pics and the promo!!! My poor Aramis falling out the window!!! Friday can't get here fast enough!!! Since we missed last week we should've gotten 2 hours this week! Don't y'all agree!!!

It was in 103... "Commodities" The one with Emile Bonnaire the slave trader.... the flashback was at Athos' house..(before Milady burned it down, ) I remember it like you do, but clearly this episode Milady said "he tried to force himself on me" She looked really sincere, but she is an excellent lyer, isn't she.... I know she did a bunch of bad stuff as the Cardinals spy, but I think the series might pull a "Switch a roo" on her character.... we'll see...
The fight scenes were amazing! I think the guys did a great job especially since they all do their own stunts!!!
Yes, thanks to our fearless and brainey thread leader, I got to see how they learned to do it. I did recolonize one of the master sword instructor as the guy d'Artagnan was fighting at the beginning of 102 (I know you remember that ep because it was when Aramis jumped on Anne the first time. lololol) Occasionally you'll see one of them pull a punch, but they're getting really good at it..... I like the scene when d"Art jumped the barricade and took on the 4 guys with his sword...... I want to learn more about the guns.... the muskets need the burny wickie thing and the pistols seem to be flintlocks... gotta look that up...
One thing I really like about the boys working together is the writers do a good job of mixing up the pairs, so we get to see them in all combinations.....
The sets and costumes are impressing me....I think the BBC is doing a great job with the series. I'm so glad we're getting a third season....
You should be use to Aramis coming out of windows.... what about the Cardinal's squeeze? I want to see Porthos fight someone with a fork again...... I've given up trying to figure out who Porthos' dad is, I think it's someone we haven't met....

Good memory or did you look that up? We've seen her look very sincere and then she turns around and outright murders someone!! She killed some poor girl to get her dress just so she could be presentable for Louis. She tries to blame Athos for everything, but she's a grown woman and she's responsible for her own actions! No one is making her murder people! I can understand her being bitter about love over what he did, but the things she does Yes they will try to redeem her, but with her she will always have an ulterior motive and be looking out for herself first! Yes, thanks to our fearless and brainy thread leader, I got to see how they learned to do it. I did recolonize one of the master sword instructor as the guy d'Artagnan was fighting at the beginning of 102 (I know you remember that ep because it was when Aramis jumped on Anne the first time. lololol)
You're so funny! Fearless brainy thread leader! Thanks for the compliment! Yes the master swords man is Roman! Of course I remember that episode!! Do you know how many times I've watched those scenes!! I'll never tell! They were very impressive in this episode and I need to watch it again. Those were some of my favorite scenes! If I remember right one girl started whacking some guy in the head with a stick or something!! That was hilarious! I posted some videos about the guns and swords they use on P3. They have Roman showing all the swords they use and the guys demonstrating how they load their guns and how they wear them with their costumes. There are two 8 minute videos. One thing I really like about the boys working together is the writers do a good job of mixing up the pairs, so we get to see them in all combinations..... The sets and costumes are impressing me....I think the BBC is doing a great job with the series. I'm so glad we're getting a third season....
They're all very close and yet each relationship is different. I think Athos is like the daddy figure no matter how screwed up he is. He keeps them in line or at lease he tries to when it comes to Aramis. Look at the huge secret he is keeping for him. The sets are beautiful and that's what makes it stand out. I loved hearing them talk about that in the videos and how it makes their jobs easier with their surroundings. I'm so glad we got a 3rd season as well!!! I thought we were told we'd learn something about Aramis's past that we didn't know, but nothing has happened yet? Maybe EP9 or 10? If not now definitely next season! I hope they get back to more of S1's stories and episodes like this one! Can we get rid of Rochefort!! You should be use to Aramis coming out of windows.... what about the Cardinal's squeeze?
That was different!!! He willingly climbed out the window!!! He didn't get tossed out backwards or head first!!! It also looked like he got shot because one of the others screamed his name! I've given up trying to figure out who Porthos' dad is, I think it's someone we haven't met....
Maybe it's the guy standing next to him in the pics I posted for EP8? I like the one where the guys do their all for one, one for all shot!! Nothing will come between them!

Hey, Milady de Thread.... wednesday, I've got good news for ya....Rochefort will only be in one more episode.....this is more than a prophesy. lol IMDB lists full cast and the # of eps they will be in.....Rochefort's in 5 (2014/15) and he played in the first 4 this season... My question is who do you want to take him out? I'm rooting for Constance, but Milady is probably a better bet (she didn't look very happy when he slammed her against the wall, lol) Besides you don't blackmail a blackmailer. She does have Louie's ear and pretty much every other part, too. Milady is a master at using seduction to get what she wants.... That another reason she's so drawn to Athos.... he's immunized to her charms. It was in 103... "Commodities"...... Good memory, or did you look that up?
Actually a bit of both I remembered it was 103, but not the name of the episode..... It's my "half-timers" affection. lol The way I sort the files doesn't include episode names. It's colder than a "well diggers belt-buckle" today.... good day to watch 107,8,9 Three of my faves.... Actually, there's been something about every ep I like..... rare for me.... You can do your "Rochefort is gone soon "Happy Dance" I'm very confident there's only one more....

I'm more of a casual watcher wednesday and shoe20, when comparing my thoughts to your extensive insights. One thing about Milady is they push her as a villain so much that you start to wonder if that's all there is to her. So it's really hard to know if she loved Athos. It looked like it. I'm wondering if both things happened with the brother, that he found out she was a commoner & thief so he figured he could take her with no repercussions. I'm kind of enjoying Rochefort as the foil but thanks for the news that he's leaving shoe. His obsession with Anne is creepy. Maybe Aramis takes him out, if he finds out about his advances toward Anne? The Cardinal & Milady together were so much more effective trying to undermine the Musketeers than Rochefort is. He's just a brown noser. I agree shoe that Milady will get her revenge whether she's the one to kill Rochefort or not. She's scary. I think d'Artagnan is my favorite sword fighter of the bunch. He gets some extra moves. Aramis is the sharp-shooter. Porthos is the street fighter, using his fists and objects as often as swords and guns. What's Athos? Maybe he's good at everything but doesn't stand out. I like that the show is pretty clear about each Musketeer's faults as well as the good points. Athos can be overly bitter and arrogant at times, left over from his Lordly days I suspect. Then he's such a good mentor to d'artagnan. I noticed it more with this ep. wednesday after you mentioned it. They're good together. I was impressed with that shot through the rope shoe20 - too bad it was impossible to pull off in that time period.

jennifer, glad you posted... wednesday and I have kinda turned this into our chat thread (but at least we're chatting about the topic... ) She has an uncanny ability to get me excited about a series... and I'm really enjoying this one..... Come on, riding, shooting, swords, and womanizing.. ...hey, I've been into 3 of the 4 all my life. One thing about Milady is they push her as a villain so much that you start to wonder if that's all there is to her.I agree on this I think she did both.....Milady is just using what God gave her to make her way in the 1600's. Sure a lot of what she's done is over the top, but you have to admire how well she plys her chosen trade. She's the perfect spy that men just don't see coming...their too busy thinking with the other brain. I don't consider her "evil", but "treacherous" I'll actually miss the "snake" Rochefort..... very seldom does a villain have NO redeeming qualities. Your right though messing with Milady will bring about his downfall...dumb move. I think d'Artagnan is my favorite sword fighter of the bunchThe show runners were really smart having the "boot camp" They obviously paid attention to the actors natural talents.... d'Artagnan is by far the best with a sword.......Porthos is a natural "brawler" .... Aramis a believeable "sharp shooter/ chick magnet" ............ Athos is the brooding glue that holds them together. I was impressed with that shot through the ropeI wouldn't say impossible, jennifer.... but highly unlikely... I've known some really excellent women marksmen (or should that be markswoman. ) With a short unrifled barrel....no sights... shooting a round ball... at that distance.... a master marksman would be lucky with a 6" group.... then it would have had to hit dead center to have a chance of breaking the rope. Like I've said before those little things I just overlook. Hey, try riding a horse at a gallop and hitting something.... I have. lol

I'm pretty sure your often charming posts extend to real life. Somewhere in there is a set-up for a joke but you won't hear anymore from me! Did you grow up on a ranch or something? You sound like a cowboy from your comments here and there. Treacherous and Milady go very well together. She's not heartless, and like you said, we have to always keep in mind the limited power of women in those days. The women in Musketeers have to constantly act behind the backs of the men & sometimes other women, like Constance taking Henry (?) to the steam. The Cardinal certainly put Milady in her place several times even though no one else seems able to do that. So I'll have to go with Jack Sparrow when it comes to Catherine's shot through the rope: "It's possible but not probable." LOL

jennifer, haha I'll resist taking the joke to the conclusion.... Handled a sword a few times but I'm not proficient with it....the other three however....... Actually these 4 remind me of Jack Sparrow on a horse.... Milady and the Cardinal did play off each other well, she got a couple of jabs in too.....Remember her telling the Cardinal how she was going to seduce d'Artagnan to the dark side? (108 I think) Constance was really brave, risking her life to save Henry (I'm not sure the series name either, maybe wednesday knows....Wiki says: Louis XIII, Anne, and their son Louis XIV) Any way Constance had to know how much she was rolling the dice. Yep, I'm a 100% cowboy....born and raised in OK.... Made my living as a blacksmith... ridden 1000's of miles...I've lived on a farm all my adult life....cities for more than a day give me the creeps. lolol I hunt, fish, rope, ride, and spit (but not in the company of ladies) I like your "Bonnie" bye the way, I hope she comes back with some serious attitude! wednesday, I finally found my left handed sword fighter.(108 the Challenge) right at the beginning when the 4 red guard took on the boys... They must have a never ending supply of these "Red Guard" dudes the way the boys run through em (should be) run em through, right?
