I am so much looking forward to this new show on Starz called "Outlander". It's based on Diana Gabaldon's bookseries which I read twice already. It's about a 2nd World War nurse Claire who is on her 2nd honeymoon in Scotland with her husband Frank. When she is hiking alone she accidently walkes into one of those stone circles and falls through time. She ends up at the exact same place but in the year 1742. Now she has to live among the highlanders and is forced to marry one of them, Jamie to be save from the English army. She falls in love with Jamie and has mixed feelings about trying to go back to the stonecircle and move back in time to her husband Frank or stay in 1742 with her new husband Jamie VERY good lovestory!!! The show will premiere on 9th August but because of the books it has already a huge fanbase here is a trailer and a 2nd one Does anyone know the books or is interested in watching the show? I hope I can find other fans to chat about it

Hi KikiI read the first book and loved it--Jamie Fraser is pretty amazing... In a Stefan Salvatore kind of way! I will definitely watch the show--just not sure if we get that cable channel here in Canada. I'm going to check it out! Thx for the heads up!

Kiki So glad you made this! You know I haven't read the books, but I'm still very excited and looking forward to it thanks to you! So keep the updates coming and if I find anything before you (which I doubt) I'll post it here too.

Eying it. At the very least, will give the pilot and second episode a go. Loved Spartacus from Starz and am also loving Black Sails so I'm willing to give this a shot (didn't care for Camelot and haven't really sat down for Da Vinci's Demons so can't say anything on that).

They are selling it internationally and I know that Showcase in Canada already bought it

Thanks for the update Kiki. I'm a book fan and heard about the show, but couldn't remember when it started. Did you pre-order the latest?? The last book was a 'meh' for me. I'm not sure if I got bored or what. If this one is the last book though, I might need to get it!

jennifer I loved all 7 books so far and I am counting the days for the release of the 8th. It will be out in July in Germany. The US version will be out tomorrow though. And it will not be the last book. Diana started writing the 9th already. I didn't preorder it because I'll read it as ebook anyway so I can just download it as soon as it comes out. But right now I'm so excited about the TV show I can hardly focus on the book anyway Sam looks just like I imagined Jamie and everything else fits so perfectly to my imagination. Only Lallybroch looks different than I thought.

I've never read the books, but my good friend absolutely loves them so I have heard so much about them that I am very excited about the show. Then I found out that Ronald Moore is in charge of bringing Outlander to television then I got REALLY SUPER excited for it
