Looks like Claire pissed off the Clergy big time, that's going to come back. I'm liking her friendship with the witch, but she's a nosy little thing. Your right Jamie getting his bandage checked was palpable.

I think for someone who didn't read the books it might seem to be a little slowmoving but you need a lot of information to understand where Claire is coming from and why she wants to go back to Frank so desperately although this beautiful hot highlander Jamie is right infront of her And believe me once this gathering is over things will move A LOT faster

My personal preference for Claire is Jamie over Frank at this point. Frank's just a little too impersonal for my taste. I know she's going to be torn between the two, and look forward to that story being told. I really liked Claire's fantasy about what would happen if she told Mrs Fitzgibbons... Demonstratd just how tough of spot she's in right now.

And while my lusty heart wants some Jamie, I think Frank is wonderful too. I can see why Claire yearns to get back to her adoring husband and modern time (plus they had a pretty hot and steamy sex life!) I am infinitely curious of where this is going! Plus my best friend is a huge fan of the books and she has dropped some hints here and there to help me better understand some characters.

So far they didn't miss much of the books though so you get pretty much what we got when we read it. I am reading the 8th book right now and still don't know much more about Frank but I have a feeling he has kept secrets from Claire which he shouldn't have. I didn't trust this guy from very early on. But this is no spoiler at all just my own thinking. And although Claire is torn between two men she is far from Elena Gilbert. She sticks to her decision and does everything to make it work no matter what.

I am a sucker for a steadfast and strong female character and I absolutely love Claire. She is fiery and smart, and very centered in who she is. Loved the scenes with her and the priest. How she is willing to risk her own life because she is driven to do what she thinks is right. Proactive and not reactive (the total opposite of vampElena Gilbert!)

And Jamie is this strong highlander who wants to protect her but yet he is vulnerable because of what he went through with Randal. The scars on his back and everything. But he finds someone to lean on in her and that's what I love about them. He is strong but she makes him stronger by supporting him when he is vulnerable.

I also love how Jamie is equally protective of Claire, you can see that they have this natural built in trust for one another. And while their chemistry is palpable, they have a wonderful friendship that developed. When he escorted her drunk self to her pharmacy, took her cues at Geillis Duncan's that she wanted to leave, then helped the boy off the pillory, and willingly took her to the "dark" ruins. Their progression into this deep friendship is wonderful as is the amount of respect he gives her (which for a female isn't a given in that time period, or even our own time!!) How can anyone not fall for a guy like that?!
