Question: On Sleepy Hollow, we’ve seen Crane’s father, but what about his mother? —MorganAusiello: Good question! Too bad it’s one that won’t be answered for a while, if ever. Mark Goffman, the series’ former showrunner, told TVLine last year that Crane’s mother would be covered in Season 2… but that never came to pass. New showrunner Clifton Campbell now says, “We just felt, because of last season and some of the responses from the fans, that we should probably give Crane’s family a rest.” tvline.com/2015/09/18/bones-booth-season-11-death-spoiler-ask-ausiello/#more-642772

I’m all for suspending logic to enjoy genre television, but how exactly does Crane get to England with falsified documents on Sleepy Hollow? — BellaThat’s an interesting question that might be answered by this new casting for a potential love interest that comes into Ichabod’s life for a multi-episode arc. “There is a lady on the scene, her name is Zoe Corinth and she’s played by Maya Kazan,” Tom Mison tells me. “She’s introduced because she’s going to help Ichabod fill out the paperwork for his American citizenship. Of course, how could that not blossom into something when there’s something as sexy as paperwork? They’re kindred spirits, but he’s reticent, as you can imagine.” www.ew.com/article/2015/09/25/spoiler-room-greys-blindspot-murder-spoilers

Sleepy Hollow‘s Season 2 finale ended with Abbie and Crane in the past. Does Jenny wander roam a different period at any time? –RamonSo far, there’s no indication that Jenny will travel through time like her sister did last season. But she will traverse a path we haven’t seen before: gainful, legitimate employment. Lyndie Greenwood fans will be happy to hear that the job Jenny has in the premiere is an easy way to keep her deeply enmeshed in the Witnesses’ mission throughout the season. P.S. Our Kim Roots says the premiere is a “solid restart” for the Fox drama and has the potential to bring back to the fold many viewers frustrated by Season 2’s trajectory. If Sleepy Hollow‘s Crane just up and left Abbie without a word, and they’ve neither seen nor spoken to each other in nine months [at the point Season 3 opens], I imagine their reunion isn’t going to be lovey-dovey. Anything you can tell us? –BellaIt’s not “lovey-dovey,” but it’s also not as contentious as you might imagine — partly because of what’s happened for each of the Witnesses during their absence from each other, and partially because of the circumstances under which they reunite. tvline.com/2015/09/25/once-upon-a-time-mulan-ruby-spoilers/#more-644762

Question: Do you have any scoop on the upcoming season of Sleepy Hollow? Dying for anything after that last season of turmoil. Thanks! —TinaAusiello: How about a definitive explanation of Crane’s relationship with Betsy Ross, straight from Tom Mison? “She and Ichabod, in the 18th century, were sent on a few missions together by Gen. Washington. They were colleagues where, if Ichabod had Facebook, the relationship status would be ‘It’s complicated,'” he tells TVLine. “They’re work colleagues, first and foremost. But being in all those sexy situations, with subterfuge and battle, muddles things a little.” Meanwhile, despite this little detail, the friendship between Crane and Mills is “still strictly platonic,” Mison adds with a laugh. “Well, from my side, anyway. I can’t speak for Abbie.” tvline.com/2015/09/30/greys-anatomy-250th-episode-spoilers-arizona-season-12/

How Sleepy Hollow Became Great AgainThursday's Sleepy Hollow premiere (9/8c, Fox) makes no attempt to hide that the Powers That Be want to forget last season as much as we do. The episode wastes no time before unceremoniously disposing of the Headless Horseman - whose very head-having persona Abraham played a major role in the Fox drama's anemic Season 2 ratings - thus allowing Sleepy to do a hard reset and start this year off fresh. Picking up one year after the events of the finale, Sleepy Hollow's premiere quickly reestablishes why viewers were so addicted to the show in the first place. Rather than see Abbie Mills (Nichole Beharie) sidelined for a single moment longer, Abbie's reintroduction finds her back in her element, literally kicking butt and taking names. After not speaking to Ichabod (Tom Mison) for nine months - not by choice, might we add - Abbie has returned to being the dogged law officer with ambitions and interests outside of her fellow Witness. She's now one of the FBI's most promising recruits and seems to determine to hold on to the agency she's (re)gained after a season of being Ichabod's glorified sidekick. But when Ichabod calls from jail, Abbie is quick to rush to her friend's side - but not so quick to jump back into demon-hunting. Though Abbie isn't as gung-ho about digging deeper into their role as Witnesses, she and Ichabod immediately fall into their old routine of witty banter, gentle mockery and constant love and support. Upon his release from prison, Ichabod reveals that he's discovered an ancient tablet that he believes prophesies their ongoing mission in the war against good and evil. And once Abbie comes face-to-face with proof of a fear-manipulating demon, she can't help but acknowledge that evil has indeed returned to Sleepy Hollow. And so the team regroups, albeit with a new lineup. Gone are Irving (Orlando Jones), Katrina (Katia Winter) and Hawley (Matt Barr), which means the show actually has time to dedicate to Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood), who has begun to not only build a life outside of the tribulations, but also carves out a more important role within the team. Jenny's skills at tracking down rare artifacts are finally put to good use. And more importantly, she's allowed to do her thing without it being marred by sister squabbling or her attempts to breathe life into Hawley's deadweight character. Jenny will even be getting a partner of her own this season. As we previously reported, Joe Corbin (Zach Appelman) will return to work with Jenny on tracking down items to help Abbie and Ichabod in the second tribulation, all while investigating the truth about Joe's father August. Though the drama's mythology will no longer be tied to Abbie and Ichabod so closely that it strangles Sleepy's creative freedom (RIP Jeremy), the new player in town Pandora (Shaynnyn Sossamon) will be intimately connected to the Witnesses. In fact, the reason Pandora travels to Sleepy Hollow is specifically to seek their assistance. What Abbie and Ichabod don't know, however, is that Pandora is also the one responsible for unleashing demons from her infamous box. The Season 3 premiere excels at setting up an intriguing new mythology, but the most important thing it does is remind viewers how fun this show can be. Some of Sleepy's best moments are those in-between the big events, when Abbie and Ichabod can simply take turns being shocked and amused by what one another say. And so while the premiere features a badass monster-of-the-week, the best moment by far is when Abbie takes Ichabod to a kitschy colonial-themed tourist restaurant. "Eggs Benedict Arnold?" Ichabod exclaims in horror. "For shame! For shame!" This season will also begin exploring a new side of Ichabod's personal history - his romantic life before Katrina came into the picture. Namely, with Betsy Ross (Nikki Reed). And while we'll be the first to admit that the idea of a "sexy" take on the iconic seamstress didn't have us too excited about Sleepy's "twistory" this year, the Fox drama quickly had us eating crow. That's because Betsy's sexiness doesn't come from her looks, but from the fact that she's a brave, confident and an incredibly tough war operative who will go to any lengths to complete her mission. She's also delightfully forward with Ichabod, which makes the buttoned-up scholar hilariously uncomfortable. In addition to exploring the relationship between Ichabod and Betsy, the historical story line is filled with the clever minutia and interesting twists that added so much fun and depth to the show's first season, including the surprising "true" origin of the phrase "don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes." After the claustrophobic second season, it's great to see Sleepy Hollow once again return to the rich world-building of Season 1. There's a brief moment in the premiere in which Jenny and Ichabod bond over their lack of place in society, and one can only hope that was a sign of things to come. The more we get to see Abbie and Ichabod interact with other characters, the more we learn who they are, the more we learn about this world and the more we learn why we should care that this world - and everyone in it - survives the impending apocalypse. We can only hope that Sleepyheads will give the show the second chance it deserves. Sleepy Hollow premieres Thursday at 9/8c on Fox. www.tvguide.com/news/sleepy-hollow-season-3-review/

Sleepy Hollow Season 3: EP Teases Irving's Exit, Abbie's New Boss (and Beau?) and Crane on a Plane
Sleepy Hollow‘s Season 2 finale left Ichabod minus his witchy wife and surly, sorcerer son… and musing a fenestella’s worth of unanswered questions. “Coming out of Season 2, and with a lull in the evil, like Abbie, he was also asking questions about, ‘How do I fulfill my destiny as a Witness and still find a place in the modern world?” says showrunner Clifton Campbell (The Glades), who took the series’ reins after executive producer Mark Goffman left in May. When the supernatural drama returns tonight (Fox, 9/8c), we’ll begin to learn what Crane and Abbie Mills, his partner in apocalypse avoidance, got up to during the nearly one-year time jump between seasons. Much has been made about Mills’ transformation from Sheriff’s Department lieutenant to FBI agent; tonight’s episode also will explore how Ichabod traveled to the United Kingdom “to look for context for what his life’s purpose was about, what his mission is about, how far back they go, and ‘Are there any others in my family that have had a brush with this?'” TVLINE | When you say “went back to England,” the first thing I think is “Ichabod Crane was on an airplane.” Was he? He was… There’s some interesting things to play, post his return, that we put out there I’d like to keep secret, but yes: He definitely traveled abroad, and he experienced flight. TVLINE | Does Sleepy Hollow have its own FBI bureau? Where is Abbie stationed? They’re called resident agencies. They’re much smaller FBI offices, and there is one in White Plains, which is literally nine miles from Sleepy Hollow. So in our creative license way, we have a perfectly reasonable FBI presence within Sleepy Hollow that she’s been assigned to. TVLINE | Are we done with the sheriff’s department, then? Yes, we are. TVLINE | When Irving was around, he knew what the Witnesses were up to, and that greatly helped them with their mission. Does Lance have any inkling of what’s going on? He does not, and that’s why the accountability is so important. It gives us a lot of conflict in Abbie’s character, because she has been called to duty on something that’s of preeminent importance, yet developing her own career path and becoming her own person requires a very terrestrial commitment to her job, and we love the push and pull of that. And you know, I’m new to the show. It felt like they all too quickly coopted whoever was the boss in the first two seasons into the supernatural, or just ignored them entirely. It felt like there’s real drama there, and if it’s a personal relationship, even more so, it could be a nice challenge to Abbie’s character. TVLINE | Is Irving’s absence explained or addressed in the first handful of episodes? It is. TVLINE | Anything else you can tell me about that? No. [Laughs] We handle it respectfully for the character. It was always our intention to finish this character’s story out. For a handful of reasons, it became difficult to schedule and to make work out, but his character and what Irving did between seasons and the decisions that he made in prioritizing his life are definitely explained. TVLINE | We’ve known for a while that the Headless Horseman won’t be around this season. What was the thinking behind that change? We wanted to refresh the mythology and deepen what it meant to be a Witness, and really sort of confound everybody’s expectations about what fear and evil could be. As iconic as that character is — and it’s Sleepy Hollow: Anything could happen — but this season Headless is taking a break. TVLINE | Do you plan to show flashbacks to the time between Seasons 2 and 3? Oh, yeah. We’re going to have fun with that. TVLINE | The show has been having a good time with the idea of Nikki Reed as a sexy, spying Betsy Ross, but will we see her and Ichabod getting romantic? Well, they have a very close working relationship. Those moments, or those looks in between, are too much fun to play with, and I would say that’s about as far as we feel we need to go with that character. But it’s so far been very satisfying to watch these two carrying out General Washington’s orders and the fun that ensues. TVLINE | The last time we saw Zach Appleman’s Joe Corbin, Abbie wrote him a letter of recommendation for Quantico. Did he go, too? He did not… There’s a lot about his journey in the past year that comes into play in Season 3. Let’s call it being his own man and finding his own way, and to that end both Jenny and Joe Corbin have a lot of questions about August Corbin and what Joe’s father was really about that get addressed in season, which is really, really, exciting. tvline.com/2015/10/01/sleepy-hollow-spoilers-season-3-irving-gone/

I’m dying for a scoop on the Bones and Sleepy Hollow crossover event. –CordellIn addition to all that we have reported thus far, the official Fox synopsis for the Oct. 29 event says that in the Bones hour, titled “The Resurrection in the Remains,” Brennan, Booth, Abbie and Ichabod must figure out how to work together to discover the identity of a 200-year-old headless corpse and how it is linked to a contemporary murder victim. Then in the Sleepy Hollow half, “Dead Men Tell No Tales,” Pandora unleashes a force to awaken the dangerous Red Coat General Howe, forcing the two teams of crimesolvers to find a way to save the titular town from the British Army of the Undead. “Can the power of Booth and Brennan combined with Abbie and Crane be enough to stop Pandora’s evil forces?” tvline.com/2015/10/05/arrow-season-4-spoilers-felicitys-father/

jennifer I'm so excited!! Finally our show is back!!! What a great way to kick off the new season. I loved the premiere and can't wait till Thursday. They've finally gotten back to what made the show great. Gone is the mess that was S2. Abbie and Ichabod even got new haircuts which I really like! Poor Abbie hadn't heard from him in almost a year. Shame shame Ichabod, but he did go through something a bit traumatic although I think he was the only one in mourning. I was kinda skeptical of Nikki's character, but from the little I saw of her I think I will enjoy the flashbacks of her and Ichabod. She makes him uncomfortable which is always enjoyable to watch. Ichabod and his revulsion of modern times and how we continue to disgrace the past in his opinion cracks me up! Eggs Benedict Arnold! When he was leaving prison his speech about his time staying there with his mates. He kills me! Glad they are finally making good use of Jenny's character! I look forward to the new stuff with Pandora. A new villain and new mythology!! I can't wait!!

I look forward to the new stuff with Pandora. A new villain and new mythology!! I can't wait!! The difference was noticeable right away wednesday! The pacing, the jokes, the scene cuts, the haircuts..... Peter Weller is the director whose name I couldn't remember; pretty famous catch for a show on the bubble last year. Yeah, it sounds like Ichabod did some soul searching in his time away. Remembering Betsy Ross perhaps? It makes sense they'd bring in a female historical figure but imdb has her listed in every ep. this season. Is Pandora going to pull Betsy out of her little box at some point?? I like flashbacks so that'd be ok. It worked for them in S1. The theme restaurant was so perfect for Ichabod's righteousness indignation! I love that Jenny will play more prominently, too. Maybe Irving will show up again since they left the door open. I saw some sparkle between Jenny and Ichabod - what do you think? My only gripe was the demon looked silly from certain camera angles. Definitely a relief to tune in and not spend half the time regretting it....

jennifer I didn't like this one as much as the premiere, but it was still entertaining. We learned more about Ichabod and Abbie's past or rather their big secrets which I really loved. Abbie found her father! This is going to be interesting. That whole conversation between the two of them on the porch was so sweet. Him nudging her to open up after he shared a part of his past that he wasn't proud of. I wonder how Jenny is going to react when she finds about the dad because you know she will!!! Abbie hooked up with her now boss. That was interesting. I liked him and this should make for a complicated situation. He said that Abbie told him some things about SH. I wonder what exactly did she tell him? How Ichabod was acting when he came around was hilarious! Ichabod is trying to declare the archive building a historical place so from what I've read he's going to apply to become a US citizen. I wonder what kind of job he's going to try to get? Any ideas? He'd be a great history professor at a college. I was happy to see Joe back and look forward to whatever they have planned for him and Jenny. I wonder what Pandora's endgame is. Just to cause chaos? At least Abbie and Ichabod know who they're dealing with!!!

At least Abbie and Ichabod know who they're dealing with!!! After laughing through the first three minutes, it occurred to me Ichabod/Abbie would make a great roomie comedy. I think the addition of Corbin working with Jenny will be good even though their initial storyline fell a little flat for me. The comedy should continue as Ichabod goes through the citizenship process. Didn't he have a reference from Oxford one season as a cover? That might help if he teaches history. He'd be funny in a service job, maybe working at that tourist shop/restaurant. The plot about Abbie's father surprised me. Guessing he has an attachment to the supernatural like their mom did, and it does sound like a possible area of tension between the sisters. I'm finding myself more interested in the interactions than what Pandora's up to. World domination is always a good one! I suppose taking out the witnesses would be number 1 on a list of things to do for a supernatural entity. She's definitely de-stabilizing SH.

First Bones/Sleepy Hollow Crossover Photo: Ichabod and Brennan Confer and It's So. Awesomely. Weird.Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: A Revolutionary War captain walks into a lab run by a socially awkward genius… and we’ve got your exclusive first look at their meeting. During a recent visit to the set, Sleepy star Tom Mison told TVLine that he and Bones‘ Emily Deschanel had “just shot this morning a rather nice scene where Ichabod questions Brennan on faith and art and love, and can they be reduced to numbers? “It actually worked really rather nicely, ’cause they’re quite similar, actually.
