hopeful? Shoot, I guess that means they won't be killing her off...which is what I am personally leaning towards at this point. Except Caroline Dries using the word hopeful doesn't actually fill me with much hope at all. I've yet to make up my mind on whether I want her dead or not. I seem to be oscillating between the two. But I do want her to have a compelling, dignified exit though, whichever one they choose. The character deserves it. If she dies it should be by saving someone. Not some stupid, random accident. If she lives, it should be far, far away, from all the mess. Either one would make a good finale for her.

No sensational scene for the show's purpose but 100% for Elena. I can't even think about her end at the moment to be honest.

As you read this, Nina Dobrev is currently filming her final episode of The Vampire Diaries, which she’s chosen to depart after six seasons — but what can we expect from her grand exit?
That’s the very question TVLine posed to executive producer Caroline Dries, who could only speak in adjectives — extremely suggestive adjectives, mind you — for fear of spilling too many details too quickly. Here’s what we got: “Surprising. Satisfying. Intriguing. Hopeful. Sad.”
As for whether or not Elena’s exit, or Jo and Alaric’s impending nuptials, might bring another M.I.A. Gilbert back into the fold, Dries said we “certainly may” see or hear from Jeremy in the coming weeks. tvline.com/2015/04/13/vampire-diaries-nina-dobrev-last-episode-season-finale-details/

Any thoughts on Tyler's exit? I can't believe he's doing the police officer training when one kill, even accidental.....didn't we all decide here that was a dumb idea and why don't they listen to us?!? Michael Trevino posted a photo on Instagram saying, "Let's finish where we started" #TVD. Here's the link in case the photo doesn't post: http://instagr.am/p/1gsIh7vbaQ The chain made me think of Tyler becoming a werewolf again

TV GUIDE SEASON FINALE SCOOP
The Vampire Diaries (The CW)
Airs: Thursday, May 14 at 8/7c
With Nina Dobrev exiting the series, the big question is: Will Elena die? While our bet is that she takes the cure, executive producer Caroline Dries warns you'll want to break out the tissues regardless. "We've had the benefit of knowing about Nina's exit for awhile, so we were able to write what we believe will be the most satisfying goodbye for such a beloved character," Dries tells us. "It was emotional to brainstorm, even to write, but I think Julie [Plec, executive producer] will agree that when it came time to put pen to paper, the story just sort of flowed naturally." As for the rest of the hour, expect things to be slightly uncomfortable for Caroline and Stefan once she regains her humanity and the two finally talk things out at Jo and Alaric's wedding in the penultimate episode. "Caroline, like Stefan, is going to feel deeply shamed when all is said and done, and her struggle will be reconciling those feelings and finding a way to move past them," Dries says. "When she's in the murk of that guilt and remorse, a real relationship with Stefan won't feel possible." Oh, and don't count Kai out just yet! He and his new "menagerie" of blood-thirsty vamps will be plotting their comeback from 1903.

I swear, if Stefan is really stuck on Caroline duty for Elena's last episodes, I really might throw something.

Question: Longtime reader here. Now that Nina Dobrev is leaving The Vampire Diaries, does that mean Elena will be taking the vampire cure? Thanks! — KristenAusiello: It certainly seems like Elena’s jonesing to take the cure, doesn’t it, Kristen? (Especially after that clip we posted with her dreaming of having children with Damon.) We can’t confirm that Elena will end her run as a human or a vampire, but know this: Damon’s decision to share the cure with her (or not) will result in a “massive fallout” — not just for Elena, but for everyone on the show, according to executive producer Caroline Dries.tvline.com/2015/04/22/ask-ausiello-spoilers-on-big-bang-vampire-diaries-arrow-good-wife-castle-walking-dead-and-more/

Vampire Diaries Finale: EP Previews Jo's Fate, Steroline's Future and Damon's 'Choices' for Elena
tvline.com/2015/05/13/vampire-diaries-season-6-finale-spoilers-jo-dying-steroline-future/ TVLINE | Let’s start on a positive note: Before all hell broke loose, that wedding was beautiful. That is a full credit to our production designer, Garreth Stover and our line producer Pascal Verschooris. They are such geeks about sets and locations, and they knew how important it was that it was beautiful. They went out and found a barn, built the inside of the barn, added mirrors that the actual structure didn’t have, then VFX’d the mirrors into the barn on location. It was insane, a big endeavor, but they knew we had to get it right. TVLINE | And they did. But now I need to ask about Jo and her babies, because I’m very worried. Can you give me hope?I think you should stay worried. I’m not so sure that’s going to have a happy ending, sadly. TVLINE | That makes me really sad. I feel like Jo was such a fantastic addition to the show.I adore her. I love Jodi Lynn O’Keefe and I love that relationship. Maybe it’s because I’m a grownup, and I like seeing grownups fall in love, but it was definitely sad to bring it to the tragic place it is now. TVLINE | I’m also worried about Stefan and Caroline. I have to assume he’s not going to give up so easily…?Let’s hope not, because the last time he didn’t step up and make his feelings clear, there were six episodes of consequences. I think that, if nothing else, Stefan deserves his say in the matter. I think he’ll have a point of view that he’ll share and that’s important for [Caroline] to hear. TVLINE | With Nina Dobrev leaving the show, and Jo bleeding out at her own wedding, Stefan and Caroline are the only couple you guys have left. Does that add pressure on you guys to keep them together?Well, without spoiling too much, theirs is a relationship that I’ve personally been rooting for for a very long time. I love the idea of trying to explore if a show can be good when its main couple is happy. Often, you need conflict and hurdles and obstacles to keep a show spicy and exciting, so we’ll see what next year brings. TVLINE | I mean, I’ve been rooting for them since … I think the beginning of Season 2.Yeah, it was Episode 202 where he takes her into the bathroom and helps her. And in the next episode, they’re walking through the woods and bantering with each other. I loved those exchanges so much, so I’ve always had that in the back of my mind as something I’d like to see. And now it is here. TVLINE | Tyler’s comment about the full moon concerned me, because Tyler + full moon = trouble.I definitely don’t think it was called out without reason. TVLINE | There is that photo of him chained up in his basement. Is that a hint?[Laughs] It is a hint — probably a pretty blatant one. TVLINE | I liked seeing Liv back last week. What role will she play in Tyler’s exit? They start the episode in absolute jeopardy, because Kai has come back to put this coven in their place. So Liv, as a member of the Gemini coven, is definitely one of those people he feels strongly about. TVLINE | OK, let’s finish with that little thing called “Nina Dobrev’s exit.” Was Stefan’s warning to Damon, about how he’d have to isolate himself after taking the cure, a hint about what will happen to Elena?A little bit. It’s not a direct connection, but it’s definitely part of the choices that are made about how to handle what happens to her character. TVLINE | It kind of looks like she’ll go on a goodbye tour, spending time with each person. Will we see individual goodbyes?Yeah, you’ll see as many individual goodbyes as you could fit into the episode without it being a clip show. That was one of my and Caroline [Dries’] favorite parts about writing this episode was being able to honor each of those relationships in whatever small ways we could. TVLINE | What do you say to fans who fear what the show’s Nina-less future has in store? Will they be satisfied with the finale? To the people who will never be satisfied without Elena Gilbert in it, I say, “Sorry, it’s been a beautiful ride, and I hope you give us a shot moving forward, but if not, thank you for the passion and commitment you’ve given up to this point.” To the people who are ready and willing to see where the show goes without her, I think we’re going to take them on a really cool, exciting ride. There’s hope at the end of the series that we’ll be able to give Elena the resolution that Kevin [Williamson] and I have always wanted to give her since Day 1.

The CW wants 'The Vampire Diaries' to run as long as 'Supernatural'Nina Dobrev might be leaving "The Vampire Diaries" at the end of Season 6, but The CW plans the show to live on far beyond Elena Gilbert. The CW president Mark Pedowitz told reporters Thursday (May 14) that he expects the show will continue long past her departure. "We had a show run 11 years based on two brothers called 'Supernatural.' I have great confidence that this could happen the same way," he says of the series' hoped-for long lifespan. "Supernatural" is currently entering Season 11. With Dobrev's Elena exiting the story in Thursday's Season 6 finale, Pedowitz offered a tease of what fans can expect when it returns in Season 7. Put simply: Expect the series to look and feel significantly different. It's going to be much more focused on the brothers Damon [Ian Somerhalder] and Stefan [Paul Wesley], a lot of space for Kat Graham [Bonnie] and [Candice Accola's Caroline] to come out," he says. "We believe that with Julie Plec at the helm and Caroline Dries running the show that we will have a show. Most of this year has been getting to the point of where we would have a reset knowing that Nina is leaving." "The Vampire Diaries" will remain in its 8 p.m. ET/PT Thursday time slot when it returns in fall 2015. There it will be joined by its spinoff series "The Originals," which will air at 9 p.m. The CW's official plot synopsis for the new season reads: "In the wake of Elena Gilbert's goodbye, in Season 7, some characters will recover while others falter. As Lily (Anne Wersching) tries to drive a wedge between the Salvatore brothers, we'll still hold onto hope that Stefan and Caroline's love story is strong enough to survive." www.zap2it.com/blogs/the_cw_the_vampire_diaries_run_long_supernatural-2015-05
