Ok So I decided to make a thread for possible theories out there for season 5 =)Rules for this thread. **If you going to reply to someone's theory try to list the pros and cons you might have towards their theory
especially if you might disagree with them or facts that might contradict their theory.**This is my first theory: it's SE Based so be prepared! =)The fact that Silas has Stefan as his Doppelgänger makes me wonder if Silas' true Love is the first Petrova. Think about it There is something magical about the Salvatore line or theres a possibility there is something magical about them especial since silas is a warlock. SO if he is a descendant of Stefan and Damon, there must be witch/warlock in their bloodline either through their mother or their father. I am thinking it might be through their mother.
All Silas wants from what we know is to be reunited with his love on the other side to find peace. A Side effect from the curse and the casting of the immortality spell was the Doppelgänger. How coincidental that Stefan has dealt with two doppelgängers. First Katherine and then Elena. Kind of like they will always be destined to cross paths and fall in love. Both Elena and Katherine fell for Stefan declared their love but something always got in the way.
So what if next season is based on this..showing they will always be meant to be Stefan and Elena • Silas and His True Love?
I hope I am making myself clear haha
It kind of reminds me of the Series Fallen by Lauren Kate with the Angels and the curse that was casted on two fallen angels. Everytime she remembered who he was she would die and be born again and no matter where he was at in life his path always crossed hers until their curse was broken.
Anyone cares to elaborate more on my theory? |

Anyone cares to elaborate more on my theory? I like your theory and would not be surprised at all if most of it is revealed as part of TVD storyline. The only part I hesitate is that Stefan and Elena are destined to be together. The first 3 seasons were all about not only Elena's choice and free will but Stefan's too. It seems to be contradictory. I would be a little disappointed if SE end up together only because of cosmic forces. I want Elena to grieve, feel guilty and ashamed the way she's treated Stefan and I want her to fight for Stefan because she knows he is her true love.  Even though the sire bond may have screwed with her logic for now, I want her to develop into the strong but compassionate Elena from earlier seasons. Similar to Stefan overcoming his ripper ways but still maintaining his pure heart. I'm sure there is a way to incorporate cosmic forces and free will together so I hope the writers don't ditch free will for the sake of the other. |

Lol I was thinking that same thing but maybe that was why Lexi was saying vampires have multiple loves. I mean she never said that before.

Maybe but I am sick of Damon I want stefen to have a story but that actually would make sense after pondering it. Because really what is damons story line other than boyfriend. Future bonnie protector |

okay so I found this from another site but I am not sure if it is a confirmed spoiler so I decided to put it in theories for now but share your thoughts about it! 
Amazing news for fans of The CW hit show The Vampire Diaries! We had access to the script of season 5 premiere and there are shocking news to share! Apparently, a new way to drop the veil and guarantee access to the great beyond will be possible. But it’s kind of tricky. Only a child from two doppelgangers could finally reunite the new big baddie Silas (Paul Wesley) and the love of his life, currently in the other side. Stefan’s doppelganger will try at all costs to have a baby with another doppelganger, Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) but her boyfriend Damon (Ian Somerhalder) can be very protective and this should be a challenge for Silas. Fortunately, now with Katherine Pierce avaiable as a human, he can hope again. What is happening in the supernatural world with all the babies lately? We’ll have to wait and see.

I like that theory... It could be fun to watch Silas ruining DE and Damon being really jealous (aka, Silas doing to Damon what he did to Stefan for 3 seasons... I can only imagine DE's rage and all the anti-Silas threads and videos and comments out there... that could be hilarious!... I just hope they don't turn against Paul because he's just the actor behind Silas, not Silas himself, but many many times DE's can't tell the difference!!!!).
The problem with this theory is that Elena, being a vampire, can't have a baby. Also, if he has human Kat, why would he chase Elena!?!? I know this show doesn't make much sense and it's probably just fan service (to make SE's happy but I won't be shipping Silena, Silas isn't Stefan!)...

I read that spoiler too about the doppelgänger baby but when I clicked on the source a picture of Damon appears with the words 'you've been punked'. Although even if it was true it's a little weird even for TVD standards. They already have hybrid baby so doppelgänger baby would be too much.

the spoiler says Silas is the doppelgänger. That's wrong. Silas is the original and Stefan is his doppelgänger because silas is much older than Stefan. And if the doppelgänger can have babies it's unlikely that Elena didn't get pregnant already. Why would she take birth controll if she is sure that Stefan cannot have babies. And since Stefan is the doppelgänger Silas will have to reunite Stelena or Steferine. I wonder how that will work.

It could be a nice story, though... Probably better than the one they are actually writing I remember, before the finale, seeing some real great theories and fanfictions, much better than the senseless finale they gave us... |
