THIS IS A DEBATES AREA THREAD
Lets discuss:
What did you like? What you did not like? What was your favorite scene/quote? What scene was the most shocking or caught you off guard?

What did I like? Bonenzo. Explosion of feathers when Bonnie was aiming at Enzo. Stamon. Lovely scene for Matt with Penny. Classy Alaric. Favourite quote: Damon a) "Then I will kidnap those innocent children because that's the best thing to do." b) "Enzo's still alive?" What did I not like? Not sure why Bonnie didn't die with the last Everlasting. Not that I wanted her to die. But I did feel the writers did quite a bit of holding their noses and just doing things because they had kind of expected to get cancelled. Sweet moment with Stefan and Caroline -- "I feel a thaw." But on the whole, I hope next year that thing actually gets played out. I really don't feel the actors are into Steroline. This year was a filler year.
Totally forgot that the twins being used as "the key" is a complete quotation from the books.

I agree 100%! This is written way better than anything I can say, so I'm going to leave it at that lol I gave this episode a 1 because for a season finale (that was supposed to be a series finale), I found the whole episode lacking. At one point I realized I was way more interested in the game on my tablet than I was the spisode. As a whole, I give this season a 3 only because it came back strong for the second half before quickly sizzling out. Here's hoping season 8 will be redeemed!

I know I am not allowed to curse on here so my review will be brief. for a finale that was AWFUL.
Cons... um where do I begin. How about everyone just nonchalantly walking through the armory with little care or hurry. or the fact that both Damon and Enzo shut the door behind them with no need to do so (hell the door was opened when they showed up) but yeah contrived plot reasons. or taking away all of Bonnie's power (oh I am super pissed about that). Steroline, and mother of the year, Caroline Forbes. I just can't with this show right now.
Pros... Caroline Dries wont be showrunner anymore. but that is all I got.

If only Kevin Williamson would come back for Season 8. I don't see him coming back any time soon since his new show Time After Time just got picked up on ABC which looks really awesome. Maybe for the series finale though. They could go out on top.

I just watched it and I actually didn't mind the finale. It wasn't their most amazing, gut wrenching, heart breaking, on the edge of my seat but I still enjoyed it. Yeah the door of the vault being open that whole time and then Damon and Enzo both closing it seemed a little unnecessary, the only reason I could think of is the big bad was only wanting them two in particular for some reason? Enzo being the only one that can open it, but why would he shut it behind him? Everyone else that came into contact with the vault lost their conscience and killed each other but D&E sort of shrunk out of there and disappeared. I guess it couldn't be Stefan and Damon who turned evil as Stefan will need to put on his hero hair to save him.... Yeah why was everyone just strolling around the armoury like it was the holiday inn? Umm hello you know there's something really bad and really evil and there's like dead bodies everywhere yet we are all a bit casual about it. I actually found the Bonenzo scene quite touching and emotional for a onscreen couple that hasn't had too much time invested in them. When Bonnie stabbed him but said she loved him and then Enzos words of he's been alive for a century or whatever but those 3 years of love with Bonnie were everything - I actually cried during their scene together here. Cried for Bonnie who is always losing the ones she loves and cried for Enzo as I've actually grown to like his character now they've decided to do a bit more with him. I'm actually digging the Bonenzo chemistry more than Steroline..... I'm glad Stefan finally said what he needed to say to Damon face to face. Yessss Damon you're a big scaredy cat when it comes to Elena. Finally admits it after how many seasons! Their scenes together were nice. Stefan being able to out manoeuvre Damon with the plane because his brother is so predictable Yeah the Steroline scene was nice, but really with how this show treats relationships I don't feel myself too invested in them. That could change with S8, time will tell. Ok I'm intrigued about this apparent big bad. We haven't really had a main cast member go all evil since Stefan ripped it up in ripper town have we? What will S8 have in store for us with Kat & Ian both leaving? Maybe Damon will kill Bonnie, Enzo will stop being evil and kill Damon. Elena wakes up and moves into the Salvatore mansion with Steroline, Alaric and the girls and they all play happily awkward family Or Elena will wake up and realise she's still cookie dough and needs to go off on her own and be vampire free
