TVD 7X17 - I Went To The Woods episode discussion

Likes: A lot! Great commitment and very strong performances by Paul Wesley. Lots of beautiful shots. Liked the woods. Damon adopting Matt's ID -- very funny. Script was good and well-acted. A good episode worth watching and re-watching. Alaric! Rayna has developed some great physical humour, as was the case tonight when she threw herself on the ground to break free of the chair and chains. Was it last week with that shot where she was running across the tarmac in the distance like Wile E. Coyote?

Dislikes: The snow fell a bit gently for what was supposed to be a blizzard. Also why is it so imperative that Damon's character HAS to be redeemed? He obviously HAS saved Stefan's ass about 50 times. Sure, he's also endangered him about the same. But he has saved Stefan. I'm not saying he should end up with Elena. But he has saved Stefan.

This episode had some nicely filmed scenes but its too bad the story line just wasn't there to support it. The Defan moment fell flat except for a brief moment where I was irritated with Stefan. Oh, writers what have you done!

The scene with Rayna, Alaric and Valerie was by far one of the most ridiculous scenes ever in TVD - EVER! If this was a comedy it could of been one of the best scenes but alas it wasn't supposed to be a comedic moment yet somehow it was.

Catching up with the episode now and I actually really enjoyed it. I think the scenes in yhe woods with stefan and the snow were beautiful. I enjoyed the defan moments but im kind of over the whole get at damon for all this stuff. I get it but they keep dragging it.

Im completely over Matt.

Im also over reyna i think shes been the worse villain on tVD along with marcos.
