crimmyj, thanks for giving me some sense of hope. I love the show and wouldn't want them to turn it into a disney-fied version where the hero always wins and everyone is happy and the world is a wonderful place. I guess what I am getting at is that you hope there is some payoff and satisfying story lines coming up. I have no issue with the "hero" being punished for making a wrong decision. Having consequences for actions is important and GoT has done a great job at pushing consequences for actions. But as a fan, I don't always want doom and gloom. I don't always want the "heroes" being killed off or punished. Sometimes I would like the "villians" to answer for their transgressions. Give us fans some hope. Also as a fan, I would hope that having invested a lot of time into this series...that GRR Martin would provide a satisfying end to the series and not just a dark cynical ending.

I promise guys, I will try my best to not let spoilers slip in this thread. shoe20 of course I had to start yet another thread for people to follow. You can't shut me up!! Simple solution girl..... use that cute little spoiler "sad face" at the end of the format menu. Works like a charm, and easy. I know what @dman24 is going to come back with...."use it yourself" lol I do post a lot of personal spec, but it's not from books. lol

I still can't get over them killing Ned Stark. Up until that point he was my absolute favorite character, and him dying was not only a shock to me, but a "stark" realization that this show has some real guts and was playing for keeps. Cause if they can kill off the great Ned Stark, no other character could be considered safe anymore. Watching other shows numbed me to the idea of the hero dying, Game of Thrones came along and blew that out of the water. And it's been a trilling, unpredictable ride ever since. I hope it doesn't have a dark cynical ending either. Cause even in the real world the bad guys get caught and are punished for their crimes. I wait patiently for that to happen, cause.... come on.... a lot of people have it coming. But in the mean time, I hold my breath for some of my favorite characters (Jon Snow; Tyrion; Arya; Daenerys), hoping the producers are merciful enough to spare them for another season. (Wait.... what show am I watching? LOL) We'll to have to wait and see how they -- or George -- decide to end things, but I'm sure it'll definitely be "interesting." That's for sure. Whether we'll be happy about it remains to be seen.

This was definitely the best season finale so far. So many characters going in interesting and fresh directions. I will admit I was kind of bored with Bran's story line but I love where that arc is going now. It was so sad to see what Dany had to do with her dragons. Arya...she is slowly becoming my favorite character. Can not wait to see what awaits her across the sea. Finally, Tyrion gets some much needed revenge and dishes out some justice. After reading many other fans' comments on Twitter/Social Media...they were upset that Lady Stoneheart was not introduced. I know who she is and what her purpose is by reading many comments and spoilers. However, I think she could easily be saved for S5 without hurting the story line. But I do think she needs to be introduced on the show and not become a book-to-show casualty.

Psst don't spoil it Andrew55 It was an awesome finale. What I didn't understand (watched it in English and I'm German) was Arya asked the captain to bring her to the North but he said they were going to Braavos and didn't want to take her with him. When she showed him the coin he changed his mind and said she will have a cabin. But where will they go? To the North or to Braavos?

Andrew55 I thought you would be happy with that finale considering some of the bad guys finally get their due. Happy Father's Day, Tywin! I've been eagerly anticipating that moment since the day Lord Tywin stepped foot in King's Landing. As for Lady you know who, I was glad that they didn't shove that into the finale, there was already so much going on that I am totally ok with waiting for that character. Kiki Arya's journey will continue on in Braavos. Her story keeps getting more intriguing and further away from her old life both figuratively and literally.

Here's the advanced preview for Sunday's episode. 5x01 Season 5 is finally just around the corner, and like last year the premiere is airing simultaneously around the globe in over 170 countries through HBO’s various affiliated partners. The multitude of teaser clips and promos that have already hit the internet have made it clear that the remaining contenders for the Iron Throne are gathering their forces for the battles ahead. Players such as Varys, Tyrion and Littlefinger are also choosing which camp to back in the ‘games', while characters like Brienne or Arya are as resolute and tenacious as ever in their continuing missions. As is usual with an opening episode there is a certain amount of catching up to be done to remind us where the characters are and what their next moves will be. It appears that this season, more so than any of the preceding ones, will be changing some of the source material from the novels - personally I haven’t found any of these particularly jarring, though I do tend to keep the two mediums as separate entities. Both the first and last scenes this week are examples of this. It was revealed in reviews from last month’s Tower of London screening that we start with a young Cersei (Nell Williams) visiting the witch Maggy the Frog (Jodhi May) to receive her fortune, and end with Stannis (Stephen Dillane) requesting that Mance (Ciarán Hinds) bends the knee and accepts him as King of Westeros. Both are in the novels, sure, but there is a slight twist within each that causes them to deviate from their written counterpart. Both scenes could well be revisited later in the season - which would go some way towards explaining some of the subtleties that one of them appears to contain at least – but for now they are only the start of the alterations we will be experiencing this year. You have probably seen Varys almost recite the title of the episode to Tyrion in one of the sneak peeks that have been released, but there is someone else who quotes the line verbatim too. The Spider is perhaps forgetting, or unaware, of the threat north of The Wall when he refers to the battles ahead in the fight for the Iron Throne. The White Walkers are biding their time, waiting for winter to fall before they make their move south. Whoever finally wins this game will have to fight wars on two fronts if they are to succeed and be the last man, or woman, standing and crown themselves ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.

Please tell me this didn't happen for real The "like" thumb was for the gif, twin..... not that your upset...... Jon is going to be just fine.... I have spoken. Just a cliffhanger for us to try and figure out.... Mr and Mrs Stannis are in far worse shape... and Cersei's not going to be waring shoes all summer.... I think the Jon Snow thing will push the story line to reveal he's not Ned's son.... Possibly related to Daenerys. lol There's a power couple. I hope that was a deep snow drift Sansa and Mr No Winky jumped into. lol Poor Ramsey....Won the war and lost both girls...
