I've yet to re-watch season 5, so I can't really say which episodes were my favorites. I've basically forgotten all of them, cause..... come on.... it's wasn't exactly a stellar season folks. I'm as excited to watch these episodes again as a kid being ordered to eat his vegetables. Yeah... that excited! lol But I'll drag myself to do it and probably give an opinion soon enough. This is what TVD has become to me: a chore! Thanks Caroline and Julie. You = hitting the nail right on the head. I've been sitting here trying to come up with three favorite episodes for this season and I keep drawing blanks...it shouldn't be that hard, should it? I mean I like this show, right? Don't I? I mean I can think of moments or scenes that I enjoyed but overall episodes top to bottom that I just loved...again, blank slate. *blink* I guess I will go with 5x11 500 Years of Solitude. Mainly for the moment when Stefan gives Katherine peace. I thought it was a beautiful moment showcased nicely by Sarah Blasko's song Illusory Light. *side note can we have our favorite music moments of TVD because Chris Molliere KILLS it every week. Chris Molliere is one of the causes for my emotional TVD breakdowns...he uses so much Birdy...so sad, but so beautiful Aunt Jennas and Uncle John's Funeral The ride back from Chiacago Bonnies funeral Season 5 finale ...the last 5 min

I love Birdy, but Chris has almost made it where I can't listen to Birdy anymore because I could be in a friend's car and "Skinny Love" comes on and boom, I'm crying and said friend who DOESN'T watch TVD is all...WTF is wrong with you>?! And I say..."Aunt Jenna!!" They think I am nuts. The Fray's "Be Still" = ugly sobs forever. Damn it, Chris Molliere...you are killing my emotions.

Season 5 finale killed me off with Birdy Wings...the combo Birdy and jer running through the woods and screaming for his girl...they were poisonous for me. Death by emotion overload

Day 1.What was your favorite 3 episodes and why?
1. My favorite episode has to be 5x18 because it was directed by Paul and I loved all the Stefan and Elena visions.
2. My second favorite is not an episode it is all the scenes with Silas. I loved the character Silas and how Paul portrayed him.

While we're on the subject of music, does anyone remember how "Say Something" by A Great Big World was playing when Katherine was trying to seduce Stefan the night of the Bitter Ball? That almost ruined one of my favorite songs. I love the music on TVD, but sometimes the right song plays at the wrong moment.

Day 1
I liked the epizode No. 100 (I think it was 100 years of solitude). What I loved about this episode was that they gathered at Salvatore house (I always like when they gather somewhere, and I love Salvatore's place) and that this episode totally confused my feelings for Katerina - I had always hated her through the seasons and I had wanted her death a hundred times, and now in this 100th episode I almost wished she could stay alive! And we saw Alaric again..
I also liked the episode where Kat actually died or disappeared or whatever happened to her (Gone girl?). Nadia's flashbacks and everything.. (although I still think that it was too crazy that Nadia had not found Kat earlier if she was looking for her so pleadingly for so long).
To define the third most fave episode I will have to rewatch the whole season. I suppose I will get there in July or something. Now I'm in s02e12.
I'm not sure if I answer well using this "Quick Reply" window.. If it's not correct please tell me.
And as for the songs, I couldn't get one of my head after hearing it.. it was playing when Kat was seducing Stefan at the motel room. It was just a melody, played on the piano, no words.. beautiful melody. Have a nice day!

Day 2.What were your least favorite 3 episodes and why?
mmm...difficult, very difficult, there were many episodes I didn't like, because they didn't make sense to me at that time. These episodes were somewhere around 5x09-5x15 It started with The Cell and ended with the death of Katherina, whom I was seriously very tired of. The Augustine SL, the story of Katherina and Nadia didn't really fascinate me, neither did the travellers tbh. OMG so that makes 7 episodes that were my least favourites WTF I think I hated ep 5x12 The Devil Inside because Jeremy was yet again tortured by Enzo and Damon. That really pissed me off to a maximum!!! I didn't like ep 5x10 50 Shades of Grayson...because it was built up to a so big secret and then we found .... A DIARY!!! Doc Grayson healed with vampire blood. Big revelation. smh!!! And the episodes where Katharina slipped into Elena's body were NOT my favs at all. It was long drawn out and absolutely silly the way she was written. Like a clingy demented old cow. Would have been better if she had gone out with a bang when Damon fed her to Silas! The irony of it, after she did the same with Jer on Silas island. It would have come across like the judgement of The Powers that Be. But I might add that to be fair I would have to rewatch the entire season again. Right now I am rewatching season 3, so that will have to wait.

Day 2.What were your least favorite 3 episodes and why?
What only 3?! I'll try. 1. Fifty Shades of Grayson (Ep510) moshe12 pretty much nailed it already. Just a waste of some good potential story involving Elena's dad's previous activities involving vampers, et al. that ended up being a whole lot of nothing. but a lot of *yawn* which was a huge chunk of the Augustine plot overall...only good out of it was Enzo. because ACCENTS are AWESOME! 2. While You Were Sleeping (Ep516) There is so much suck going on in this episode that I can't even begin to dive into the whys. Everything was a hot mess. I wanted to slap every character at least once. But it wasn't just the shoddy writing and plot resolutions, the pacing of that episode was just WTFing itself all over. And how much did Elena care about Damon's latest murder run, something of which was such a concern leading up to it. Oh nothing...bygones and all. Just like a lot of episodes this season...a lot of lead up to something happening then ends up being limp and flaccid. Talk about disappointing. 3. What Lies Beneath (Ep520) Again...a lot of build up then...limp flaccidity. Enzo, your logic makes all the sense that is not. Bad enough the episode prior he turns off his humanity and does the whole death by revenge suicide to destroy Damon. Problem being Damon doesn't really give a rats ass about much but Elena (so you should have used her not Stefan for your revenge) and then this episode you decide you want to live again. Make up your damn mind, Enzo. Do the writers know what they are doing or are they getting drunk in their weekly meetings and just use a dart board to decide what to do next. I hope that is true, because it makes more sense. "Oh I got another bullseye....next episode MORE CHANTING"

"Oh I got another bullseye....next episode MORE CHANTING" Makes one wonder that elena didn't know or care that they tortured and almost killed Jer once AGAIN!!! And Enzo's suicide was not only stupid...it was completely brainless, and why did he whine on The Other Side all the time. The only thing the idiot achieved was that the whole passing throughBonnie twice was a burden for her.

Seriously...that was so totally glossed over I was all WHAT THE HELL>@!@#*(& Elena, remember Jeremy whose death sent you into a humanity less shame spiral that could almost make the Rippah (cmon who doesn't say it like Klaus?!) blush?? Plus you burned the Gilbert house down, girl I am not over that! Guess what Elena, Damon put Jer's life at risk again and totally allowed him to be tortured, but that is ok because he totally thought you broke up with him even though it was Katherine so whatevs, right? These thing happen. Why would you and Damon even mention it over the phone in that episode when the writers felt it was much more worthy to have your conversation include references to sex instead. SERIOUSLY! I'm sorry day drinking is calling me.
