Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev on Elena and Damon's Goodbye, Caroline's Feelings for Stefan
www.tvguide.com/News/Vampire-Diaries-Nina-Dobrev-1082029.aspx
Well interesting. According to this person writing the article, Damon is the love of Elena's life! And Nina thinks Elena shouldn't have a problem with Stefan being with Caroline. I mean after all she did hook up with his brother. She can't really throw stones now can she. Click the link above to see the video. If The Vampire Diaries' Elena wasn't sure of her feelings for Damon before, she certainly is now.
On the Season 5 finale, viewers sobbed along with Elena (Nina Dobrev) as she realized the love of her life Damon (Ian Somerhalder) wasn't coming back from the Other Side.
"In high-stakes situations where anything can happen... it really makes you think about your life and what's most important and who's most important," Dobrev tells TVGuide.com in the video from the CW Upfront.
Although Damon won't be by Elena's side when the series returns in the fall, it's clear that she and Stefan (Paul Wesley) will finally be in a place where they can lean on each other as friends in his absence.
"If you look back to Season 1, it's been very hectic for her and it's nice [for her and Stefan] to be in a settled place," she says. "But it's the CW; we're not going to stay there for very long. She's not going to be happy for more than 15 minutes in the first episode of Season 6."
And speaking of Stefan, how will Elena handle it if he and Caroline (Candice Accola) get together?
mmmm... Idk....I must admit I liked Damon pulling the Sidney Carton, but Elena just sobbed too much for my taste. Some liked the meltdown, some laughed about it (read some comments over on youtube), I also liked the cliffhanger, it was so Spikesque a la Buffy series finale, the white light and all. And Smolder played his part very well. So what is bothering me about the article...I didn't howl like a wolf bec of Damon and Elena. It was their act to pull a Thelma&Louise, and sometimes there are consequences and sh** happens. I even admit that I was sad that Damon got stuck on the other side. But Idk...Damon is suddenly the love of her life She is 19 ys old. Season 1-3 Stefan was the love of her life she was 17-18 ys old. Anyways there are theories that the end is already determined, and that SE is endgame. But I am not happy with that anymore. So am I rooting for Car and Stef. Personally I think they would have the makings of a fine vampire couple... but if sth goes wrong...and Elena decides in season xyz that Stef is her one one and most very true love of her life? Don't want my girl Car to get hurt. And their beautiful friendship might go down the drain as well. This is tricky, very tricky. The scene that really led to my personal meltdown, was the goodbye Bon gave Jer and when he ran through the woods screaming her name. That was tragic and man was it well played!!! I can't get that song out of my head anymore ... Wings by Birdy. Why does Chris Molliere always use Birdy for these tragic scenes They really get to me.

After Thursday night’s Vampire Diaries finale, we knew Enzo was back from the dead, but will he be sticking around Mystic Falls? The short answer of it all is: Yes!
Julie Plec revealed that not only will Enzo be returning as his vampire bad-boy self, but Michael Malarkey will officially be a Vampire Diaries series regular in season 6. “We have not seen the last of the delicious Michael Malarkey,” Plec said. “He’s a wonderful addition to the team, and he will be officially a series regular next year.”

SPOILER:
Poor Stefan was so distraught at the end of The Vampire Diaries finale. Will he ever recover? — Cathy
At least he's got Caroline, right? Unfortunately, that relationship won't necessarily fill the void left by the disappearance of his brother Damon. "It's really a character-defining journey for [Stefan], and it'll change him quite a lot," executive producer Julie Plec says. "At what point does he decide to give up or keep searching for answers?" Well, that doesn't sound very promising for Damon now, does it?

So happy you talked about Stefan's loss-in my mind, he's the one who's lost the most...we've never seen him break down like that. he had to suffer through dying, he 100% lost Lexi, now his brother. Defan have not always been together. (An understatement) but at Least Stefan always knew he would see Damon again someday...now he has no hope. As a defan shipper, and someone who believes they are closer than sometimes they let on, I think Stefan's going to have the roughest time at the beginning of s6. I predict he's going to competely seperate from the group between seasons, travel and prob do what Damon would do-drown his sorrows in booze-maybe only having limited contact with car. Damon will be back, which I hope will be an epic moment for defan (though I've been let down before). Until then, I wish Stefan all the best, he's going to need it!

SPOILER:
Question: I would love to get scoop on The Vampire Diaries‘ Stefan and Caroline! Will they start dating soon? –Amy
Ausiello: Paul Wesley thinks they should bypass the dating stage altogether. “They need to have sex, just get right to it,” he says with a laugh. “We’d have sex in the Salvatore crypt. That’s the way to go, man.” Nina Dobrev, meanwhile, has a hunch Elena will “figure out a way to be OK” with Caroline’s feelings for Stefan, adding, “It’s going to be a little awkward, but let’s be real, who is Elena to judge? She dated a brother, then dated his brother, then went back and forth. She can’t say anything. She has no right.”I love Paul and his sense of humor!

Here's the thing though....I do understand why they have explored Delena. A) They can't promote a triangle on the show and not explore all the sides. B) They wanted to capitalize on the popularity of the relationship in accordance with the Delena fan base. I don't have a problem with either one of those reasons. And as a big Stelena fan, I knew Delena was going to happen and needed to happen at some point. However, a relationship should not relegate other main characters and the main plot arc to background status. And that is essentially what happened this year. I think Caroline Dries is a wonderful woman but I just don't think she is a great show runner. This season was the worst as far as story lines go. The plot was so incoherent and had way too many actual stories they tried to tell. The mythology with the travelers was kind of lame...same with the doppelganger prophecy. It seemed like both those story lines were only there to create drama in the Delena relationship. But I am with this show until the end and I will hope for a better season six this fall. Although the past 2 seasons suck the show is still better than everything else on TV so I will watch season 6, too. As long as Paul Wesley is on this show I will watch Um, No! This show USED to be better that everything else on TV. It's not anymore. Not even close. It's not better that Scandal, or Vikings, or Game of Thrones, or The Blacklist, or 24, or The Originals, or even Arrow. All these shows have surpassed TVD in every category, so that old slogan that perpetuated the lips of every TVD fan does not apply anymore. TVD has a lot of catching up to do. Hopefully this new season quickens the pace.

From all the spoilers I've been reading about S6, debbie.....I'm thinking they are not going to write Stefan or Elena the way we think they will respond to Damon's demise.

I honestly would like more Defan scenes too but I just don't know if Caroline Dries really understands or likes writing that relationship. I used to really ship Defan a lot but I, too, have been let down so many times that my love for it has waned so much. Julie keeps preaching that the one true relationship on the show is Defan....well do something about it then Julie. Talk is cheap. Until I see more scenes, actual continuity and love between the brothers, I'm holding my breath. I would hope and think that Stefan would be in a rough place as far as handling this. Losing both Lexi and Damon is devastating to him. Everyone is worried about how Elena is going to be dealing with Damon's death, and rightfully so, but honestly I think Stefan is going to be taking it worse. Damon was his last bit of family left and now that is gone too.

From all the spoilers I've been reading about S6, debbie.....I'm thinking they are not going to write Stefan or Elena the way we think they will respond to Damon's demise. If Elena and Stefan are not heartbroken it would be completely unrealistic in my opinion. Still think Stefan will spend the next few months completely alone in his own grief. Elena will not be as outwardly grieving but not because she's not upset, she's probably in shock (she discovers the love of her life is dead the same week she realizes how great he is?)...she'll do what Elena does, be there for ric and Jeremy, maybe travel a little, make sure Stefan is safe. How do you think they'll react?

There is not a lot of mention of Damon's death, the most shocking part of the episode? Have fans really lost that much interest in Damon?
