DESCRIPTION "PROMISED LAND" 5X21
OUTRUNNING DEATH — When Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) escape from Markos’ (guest star Raffi Barsoumian) control, only to find themselves stranded in a remote location, Stefan gets philosophical with Elena about her relationship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder). After their attempt to protect the dopplegangers goes badly, Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) and Luke (guest star Chris Brochu) come up with a dangerous new strategy. Damon recruits Matt (Zach Roerig) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to help him set a trap for Markos, who turns out to have a devastating surprise of his own. Bonnie (Kat Graham) finally admits to Caroline (Candice Accola) that she’s been keeping the truth about the Other Side from everyone. Finally, while Bonnie searches desperately for a way to stop Markos, Caroline is witness to an unthinkable act of violence by one of the Travelers.

I think the incident with Luke and Liv will get busted up when the Travelers find Stefan and Elena again. They're supposed to escape Markos' control, and later on, Caroline is supposed to witness some terrible act committed by a Traveler, which I'm sure is whatever will happen to Stefan. His body will probably be the devastating surprise that Markos has for Damon. I wonder if the Travelers will try to reverse Elena's immortality. Maybe that'll happen in the season finale? It would make one interesting cliffhanger if Elena became human and didn't die.
Another thing that occurred to me is that getting picked up by a Traveler and then stopped and attacked by two witches might be a dream or hallucination keeping Stefan and Elena compliant while the Travelers take their blood. Luke and Liv might do something dangerous from a safe location since they haven't bothered to fight any Travelers so far. I think the witches just want to keep the curse going.

how is it possible that Damon talked to Enzo in the burning barn but now needs Bonnie to translate between both sides?

Hey Kiki. Damon didn't actually talk directly to Enzo. He was spewing his mouth out loud, as usual, hoping Enzo would hear him and he did.

I'm looking forward to this episode for one reason. I want to see once and for all what exactly why the witches keep attacking Elena. It's too weird that they keep targeting her and not Stefan, especially now that Liv has said that both doppelgangers should die. Then suddenly she changes her mind? I'm not sure if there's some connection between Elena and the witches, such as an unexpected backstory, or maybe they just hate her because she's probably a traveler now, even though it isn't her fault. Maybe Luke has feelings for Stefan. I hope we find out in this episode or the finale, once and for all, what exactly is going on with those witches. I'm not the only one who finds it very strange that the rest of their coven remains unseen, with the exception of the witch who was killed by Enzo. I also don't get how Luke and Liv will be able to use magic when Markos is stripping magic away. It's possible that witches still have power outside of Mystic Falls, but the spirits are disappearing. Luke and Liv are going to have to change the way that they practice magic in order to hold onto their power. They'll have to pull a Bonnie and start using their own life force like travelers do.

That would help the story but the travelers story line is one of the most boring things I have ever seen. There is nothing of interest so yeah it would be nice if they explained everything but will it be interesting when they do. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using proboards

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using proboards I'm hoping no one lied and this episode leads to more than just Elena's attempted murder as far as the witch twins are concerned. I read that a few characters are getting killed off because the writers are having trouble keeping up storylines for all of them, so it's possible that there will be some explanation for Luke and Liv, but Season 5 is shot to hell on account of too many characters being around and Julie Plec paying too much attention to the spinoff. It seems like Caroline Dries and the EP of The Tomorrow People have both been on their own most of the time. As far as I know, The Tomorrow People didn't make it, but Caroline Dries is doing what she can to make The Vampire Diaries into something fans will accept and the writers can manage starting in Season 6. I'm sure the Season 5 finale will give plenty of surprises to lead into that, since the deaths in this arc are leading up to whatever will happen in the finale.
