Thank you Damonsgirl for these visually stunning videos! The rain kiss was an iconic moment in the turbulent but passionate journey of these two lovers. Have you ever seen Elena more alive, more in love or happier? Hi Damon lovers! Finally here? I’ve got this great feeling in spite of the sad fact Elena is out of the picture. Damon got to understand that he was Elena’s best choice through every single possible incarnation of her character! She loved him as a human, she loved him as a vampire, she loved him through compulsion and any other rank obstacle thrown their way. Their love was 100-proof and it began with “I’m Damon…and a kiss on the hand.” Of course it did! Then it soared through deep friendship and the reining in of feelings and the test of time until it broke wildly open and found a way, like true love often does. This is really a time to celebrate together even while we respectfully say goodbye to a beloved character.

Who knows where this series will go? Brother bond? Pretty whisper-thin as the writers have ignored it since Damon rose from the dead. Now Alaric & Damon back as strange bedfellows I could handle again. That bond was depicted so well once upon a time in spite of their blustery beginnings. Remember a dead-sexy vampire circling Ric and our brave Ric just going for it even as Damon gave him breadth to walk away? The joint pursuit of Isobel? The vigil Damon held by Ric's side at his deathbed? So the brother bond lies in the two characters who have fought like a cougar and a panther. Let's hope they revisit it! |

 Lol. I realise most people on this site are no big fans of DE. It must have been really hard for you guys to watch the last four seasons. On one hand I'm impressed you've been holding on to your ship all this time. On the other hand it's a little sad the show has failed to sway you in favour of DE as the story and characters have moved forward. For me the DE story was always the greatest pull of TVD, the heart of the show, and an unforgettable, extraordinary love story. Both in the books and in the tv show. I will miss them so much. |

fangfairy -- great name BTW -- Delena occasionally worked for me. I just thought they were far funnier and sexier apart than together, though in recent episodes Elena has demonstrated a mature knowingness about Damon that I found charming. I have felt bad for your ship though in the past few weeks, because we have had years of heartbreak and we are STILL not over Stelena. I have also appreciated the fact that the actors themselves have actually been trying to tell us the truth about what was coming to pass in 6X22. I'm glad you got your scenes in 6x21 and 6x22. I hope they will keep you watching the show next year.

To be a DE fan has not been an easy ride, I can tell you that. They've been put through every imaginable heartbreaking obstacle, yet their love has survived every single one of them. The writing on this show is hideously sadistic. I'm just glad Elena regained her memories before the end and their love was complete again, and more powerful than ever with their plans for the future. (Not a big fan of the turning human story line but it was the greatest commitment on Damon's side for sure.) DE is now laid to rest with Elena put in a coffin to sleep (the mind boggles) but with the clear promise of 'to be continued', one day, in the series finale, most likely. So we move on and remember fondly, what else can we do? I will definitely carry on watching, because I adore Damon Salvatore. (Lol, also not the most popular choice here, I gather.)

fangfairy - Hello. Going forward, how do you see the Defan? (I think they should be called DamFan myself.) Would Stefan replace Elena in Damon's estimation? I thought that declaration by Stefan was sketchy and not in line with the feel of Season 6. I'm enjoying your posts.

DamFan going forward? I'm not particularly thrilled by that. I don't really need to see heart to heart between them. I like them best when they kick ass together as a team. Stefan has a long way to go still to get to know his brother, but at least he is beginning to appreciate him. Damon knows Stefan well and loves his lil' bro. But if it came down to a choice, he would choose Elena. Always.

I think Caroline will help him on that front. He is beginning to realise she is The One, and when they finally start their relationship in earnest, no doubt he will get the balance right too, between love and family.

You are one who always gets the crowd thinking. Thought I would try to help you get this "corner" to a whopping 5 pages! Seems it's either the corner or the debates threads regardless...two choices, lol! You spend a lot of time in the corner, don't you? There is a quote some famous person coined (name escapes me at the moment), "It's the truth that brings out the moderators, not the hate." You are a great poster who keeps her cool while the hate stands generally unopposed, countering it all calmly with knowledge and generally a POV I can agree with. You are a Damon warrior. I think what I've seen in your posts is a propensity to support something and enjoy something, rather than tear something down. I like that about you. You also do not rub victory in anyone's faces or have that mean streak that hopes people with dissenting views dreams are dashed. I am not as magnanimous but am trying to learn from you. Kudos to you and congratulations on the season finale where so many questions were answered for inquiring minds! fangfairy - call me Pippi for sure! There was a long discussion on the brother bond quite some time ago - most likely in a debate thread as there was support for Damon involved. Dammit - don't remember who posted what. There aren't many Damon supporters here so it shouldn't be too hard to find, but it covered both sides of the argument pretty well if I recall. In retrospect, I think damonsgirl was involved in the convo. Right? Stefan needs Damon like a child needs a touchstone or a blanket. Damon doesn't need Stefan in that way, hence I also am of the mind he would definitely choose Elena over Stefan, like grownups do. Imagine if you needed permission from your sibling to marry someone? I find Stefan's relationships generally unhealthy with a bit of a child needing something or taking something he needs without considering the consequences. Perhaps he is manning up with Caroline and taking the reins in a leading man sort of way (though I'm not convinced he can pull it off for many reasons which out of respect for those on this forum who appreciate him I will not enumerate, but mostly I would point to his insecurities). Well, theoretically DE in the flesh is on a 60 year waiting list. They did come together in the sweetest most complete way in the season finale. There were lines spoken that debunked the whole SE thing as still having a pulse. (Wasn't that already obvious?) It was over officially on the roof...it was over long before the roof. *See the 1st DE meeting to the necklace to the finale goodbye. Perhaps we need to meet in the Damon thread. There is one, correct? I imagine it is sparkling and squeaky clean from lack of use. Will check back in!  |
