I really liked this version of the episode. Like I liked the dark feel to it even t the opening flashback. It was cool and mysterious.

I think Elijah might be back episode three but the writers could be messing with us.

I'm still mad at klaus for that. If they stay with tvd time next episode should definitely be a time jump meaning Elijah has been down for three or four months
