Once Upon a Time exclusive: Barbara Hershey set to return in 100th episode
Barbara Hershey will return to Once Upon a Time for the upcoming 100th episode, EW has learned exclusively. Hershey will reprise her role as Regina’s (Lana Parrilla) mother, Cora, otherwise known as the Queen of Hearts. The last we saw of Hershey’s Cora in present day — Rose McGowan plays a younger version of the character — she had attempted to obtain the Dark One’s dagger, but was killed by Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin). It’s unclear whether Cora will appear via flashback, or there’s something surprising in store for the big episode, which is slated to air as the spring premiere in early March. Other familiar faces slated to return this season include Jamie Chung, Meghan Ory and David Anders www.ew.com/article/2015/10/27/once-upon-time-barbara-hershey-cora-100-episode?hootPostID=b6eb149ffdeb529e39d43b7f27bb7082

Once Upon a Time' Casts Merida’s Parents
Caroline Morahan and 'Sons of Anarchy' vet Glenn Keogh will portray Queen Elinor and King Fergus in the Nov. 15 two-hour episode. Once Upon a Time is adding a touch of royalty. The ABC fantasy drama has cast Merida's (Amy Manson) parents, King Fergus and Queen Elinor, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Fergus will be played by Sons of Anarchy and Scorpion vet Glenn Keogh. Elinor will be played by Caroline Morahan (Doctor Who). The characters were voiced by Billy Connolly and Emma Thompson, respectively, in the 2012 Pixar film Brave, from which Merida originates. The duo will be introduced to the Once Upon a Time world on Nov. 15. In the special two-hour episode, Merida teams up with Ruby (Meghan Ory) and Mulan (Jamie Chung) for an adventure. It's unclear in what capacity the king and queen will be introduced; Once Upon a Time's Merida has said her father died. But the series is also no stranger to using flashbacks and other magical devices to showcase dead characters. www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/once-a-time-brave-meridas-834971?utm_source=twitter

Emma really blew it with Henry didn't she? I don't like Arthur at all and I don't trust Genevieve either. And please keep Zelena in the closet or fridge or wherever they left her last time. Loved it when Regina called her Greenie in season 3 hahaha

SPOILER:
Any clues as to whether Once Upon a Time viewers are literally going to “hell” aka the Underworld, and if so, as a whole cast? Or is it possible it comes to Storybrooke? –KarenDetails — on any confirmed trip to Hell or otherwise – are scarce thus far, but this much I can share: For an early Season 5B episode, the ABC series is guest-casting the roles of a “dashing, strapping young man” who is “single-minded in his pursuit of his destiny: to be the greatest hero who ever lived” and a “plucky, 18-year-old female adventurer with a sly sense of humor and a tough, no-nonsense spirit.” tvline.com/2015/10/29/arrow-season-4-felicitys-mother-returns-spoilers/#more-654530Meg and Hercules? Did Emma have to crush a heart to cast this new curse on Once Upon a Time? — Kat“Yes,” EP Edward Kitsis says. “Can’t make a dark curse without crushing the heart of the thing you love most.” Which begs the question whether someone in Storybrooke pulled a Snowing and split their heart. “There’s other stuff going on than what appears on the surface right now,” EP Adam Horowitz says. Adds Kitsis: “The question you’re asking is whose heart is it and is someone going to die? We’re not going to answer that, but we will say the information you need to guess has not appeared yet … or has it.” www.ew.com/article/2015/10/30/spoiler-room-supergirl-htgawm-once-upon-time-spoilers

Once Upon a Time's Amy Manson on Merida's Brave quest
Once Upon a Time’s brave lass is about to take a deadly turn during Sunday’s episode. With the Dark Swan (Jennifer Morrison) in possession of her heart, Merida (Amy Manson) will take an unconventional route in making Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) less of a coward by targeting Belle (Emilie de Ravin) — though, as it will be revealed on Sunday, the two share a past in Camelot. Will Belle be able to help Merida save her family? EW caught up with Manson to get the scoop on what’s next, including whether Merida’s team-up with Mulan (Jamie Chung) and Red (Meghan Ory) could be the answer to this: ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Let’s talk about how you landed the role. Had you seen Brave yet?AMY MANSON: No, I actually hadn’t, believe it or not. I hadn’t seen the movie. Initially, when the sides came through, the synopsis wasn’t Merida. The name was Evanna, and she was coming into the show as Rumplestiltskin’s mother. The scenes that I got really were similar to a few of the scenes in the animation Brave. I put my own spin on it and my own take, and labored on the pain of a mother-daughter relationship more so. I sent those tapes away and then Eddy [Kitsis] and Adam [Horowitz] got back to me and said, “Can you do the scenes again, but with humor?” Then I did those tapes and sent those back and then here I am. Did you know how to shoot a bow and arrow at the time? No. I’ve never shot bow and arrow in my life. Actually, they flew me over quite quickly for San Diego Comic-Con, to do the promo. I got a bow and arrow stuffed in my hands, like, “Right, on you go,” quite quick. I had about an hour before we shot that with an archer. Then I requested if I could have maybe a couple days with proper archery lessons, which really helped and I thoroughly enjoyed. Turning to where we’re picking up with Merida in Camelot, what can you tease of this journey she’s going on with Belle on Sunday?Merida kidnaps Belle for a reason which you will find out in Sunday’s episode. She requires Belle’s help to help her in her quest to save her brothers, who have been kidnapped by the united clans of DunBroch, because they’re unsure if Merida can actually lead, being a woman on her own. Merida takes Belle on this journey to DunBroch, and Belle ends up saying, “Yes, I’ll come and help you.” You find out the reason why she’s willing to help Merida. They go on this mission, and it’s whether they do manage to save her brothers or not really in Sunday’s episode. Do Merida and Belle find a friendship between them?Yes, they absolutely do. Not initially. It takes a long time on the journey to DunBroch, and to actually find where the clans are keeping the brothers captive. But by the end of it, Merida and Belle strike a friendship, absolutely. In Storybrooke, Merida is being forced to make Rumple brave and targets Belle. What can you tease?Obviously she doesn’t know what’s ensued in DunBroch. Dark Swan has taken Merida’s heart, and is controlling her to make Rumple brave. She goes and gets the cup and uses that. By the end of the episode, she’s needing something stronger, so she goes on the journey of using Belle against Rumple. Is that hard for her to do?Yeah. After striking this friendship — she doesn’t know about the friendship while in Storybrooke — she’s just under Emma’s control, so the two worlds never meet. We’re going to be meeting her parents. What can you tease of their relationship these days, and maybe what we’ll see of how her father died? That’s on Nov. 15, episode 9, “The Bear King,” and it’s taking off maybe 10 years after the film Brave. She’s got a great, strong friendship with her mother, and also with her father. Episode 9 actually goes in flashbacks from present day DunBroch, and then back to before her dad was killed. We find out during episode 9 why and who killed her father. And she’ll be teaming up with Red and Mulan in an upcoming episode. How does she know them and what sort of relationship do they have?Mulan and Merida are similar characters in that sense, very strong women who fight for what they believe in. You’ll find out how she’s met Mulan in flashbacks in that episode 9. She’s actually known Mulan for quite a number of years. And then, in the present day, she goes to speak to Mulan and asks for her help on another journey. Given that the show is going to be exploring an LGBT relationship at some point, and given that Merida didn’t want to get married in Brave, is there a possibility there could be more between Mulan and Merida?Absolutely not. I was actually on Instagram the other day and there were some of the fans discussing that. It’s better just to say what I know about that. But there’s talk within the episode of a past relationship, like you said, but not for my character. Merida has mentioned before that she has a darkness within her. Will we see that come out more in ensuing episodes? It is in episode 9, because that journey is her avenging her father’s killer, so in that sense, she goes to a lot of other places to find who killed her father. It’s just what she does to that person, really, is maybe a dark side of Merida, but nothing like the Dark Swan, nothing in that mental state. Does she see any good within the Dark Swan?Oh, in episode 9, she repeats something that Emma has taught her before, so yeah absolutely. What Emma said to Merida is having an affect on her because she repeats some of her lines from previous episodes. What surprised you most about Merida? The fact that she just never gives up. She wears her heart on her sleeve. She is that Brave character. She’s a warrior, but she does it for the love of her family. She does what’s right. She’ll always do that over being mean to anyone. And I guess maybe her heart and her spirit. www.ew.com/article/2015/10/29/once-upon-time-amy-manson-merida-brave

Merida, Mulan and Red Riding Hood Storm Camelot on Once Upon a Time
Oncers, take a deep breath. On a special two-hour Once Upon a Time airing on Sunday, Nov. 15, not one but two beloved characters will make their return to the series: Mulan, the bisexual Chinese warrior, and Ruby, the show’s sassy, animorphing Little Red Riding Hood. The event, which is actually separate stories woven together with a connecting plot thread, begins with an exploration of the choices Emma (Jennifer Morrison) has made as the Dark One in Camelot. “Viewers are going to get a pretty big reveal on the mystery of what has been happening and why she is doing what she is doing,” cocreator Edward Kitsis hints. “We’ll be answering more questions than we’ll be posing.” But the magic really begins in the second hour as Mulan (Jamie Chung) and Ruby (Meghan Ory) each makes her first appearance of the season. (Chung was away in part because of NBC’s Believe, while Ory spent time on CBS’s Intelligence; both shows are now dead.) When we last saw Mulan in Season 3, she was heartbroken over Aurora and was off to join Robin Hood’s posse. Those Merry Men have gotten plenty of screen time in recent seasons, but Mulan was nowhere to be found. “We’re going to catch up to what she’s been doing for the last couple of years, and we’re going to get a piece of her backstory that we never knew,” Kitsis says. The same can be said for Ruby, who will be in “a dire situation” when we first see her again, says cocreator Adam Horowitz. As to what exactly the ladies will be up to, Kitsis and Horowitz are tight-lipped but do reveal that the two fan favorites’ triumphant comeback will take them on a journey with Merida, the Scottish princess from Pixar’s Brave, who was introduced earlier this season. “Merida’s facing a problem in the present day that involves Zelena and King Arthur,” Kitsis says. “Mulan and Ruby are going to be enlisted to help her solve that problem. [So] it’s your normal show where Merida, Mulan and Little Red Riding Hood team up to fight the Wicked Witch and King Arthur. It’s just another day in Camelot!” Once Upon a Time, Sunday, Nov. 15, 8/7c, ABC www.spoilertv.com/2015/11/once-upon-time-season-5-first-look-at.html

Once Upon a Time: Greg Germann Cast as Season 5B's Devilish Mystery ManABC’s Once Upon a Time has cast one helluva role for the second half of Season 5. TV vet Greg Germann (Ally McBeal) has landed the heavily recurring role of what is for now being dubbed “The Distinguished Gentleman,” TVLine has learned exclusively. ABC would confirm no further details on the character or his storyline, but the casting call described him as “a mysterious figure with god-like powers who is always clad in a perfectly tailored suit,” someone who can “strike fear into people just by being friendly” and “the last person you ever want to share a drink with.” Last month at New York Comic-Con, Once co-creator Eddy Kitsis summed up Season 5B as “hell,” spurring speculation that our heroes next will brave the Underworld and perhaps clash with Hades himself. Subsequent casting calls cited by Matt’s Inside Line — though not confirmed — suggest we will meet Hercules and Megara at some point this spring. Germann will make his debut in this season’s 12th episode aka the series’ 100th, which will launch the second half of the season sometime in March. In addition to his aforementioned run as Ally McBeal‘s Richard Fish, Germann’s TV credits include arcs on House of Lies, Raising Hope, NCIS, SVU and Chasing Life. tvline.com/2015/11/03/once-upon-a-time-greg-germann-devil-season-5-cast-gentleman/#more-655654tara Richard Fish!!!!! This is so crazy!!!! I just told my dad last night I was thinking about watching some Ally!!

Once Upon a Time' Scoop: Emma Caulfield to Return as the Blind Witch in 100th Episode!Once Upon a Time's 100th episode is getting an extra dose of magic! Emma Caulfield will reprise her role as the Blind Witch in the highly anticipated -- and star-studded! -- event, ET exclusively reveals. True Oncers will remember this iconic villain, (and her hauntingly beautiful blue eyes) from her brief, yet memorable appearance in the magical drama's very first season. In the episode "True North," the Blind Witch resided in a candy-covered gingerbread house and lived a peaceful life of eating children. That is, until Hansel and Gretel -- sent on a mission by Regina -- locked her in her own oven in their attempts to escape. Needless to say, she did not survive the fiery tomb. The landmark episode is going to be jam-packed with many more familiar faces, so get ready for a trip down an enchanted memory lane. ETonline confirms that Giancarlo Esposito will shimmer back in as the Magic Mirror, Robbie Kay will take flight once again as Peter Pan, and Barbara Hershey will magically reappear as Cora. Once Upon a Time's 100th episode is set to air as the spring premiere in early March. The details of the epic episode are being kept extremely under wraps, but given how many deceased characters are set to take part, we've got a magical hunch that we could be traveling backwards through time, or undoing every spell that has every happened in the series, or… we could go on forever because we just have SO many ideas! www.etonline.com/news/175352_exclusive_once_upon_a_time_scoop_emma_caulfield_to_return_as_the_blind_witch_100th_episode/
