So, dropped Weeds 5-6 seasons in, can't make it the 8. Horrible characters.
And just wrapped up S1 of New Girl. I don't really bother with comedy shows outside of animation so this was kind of a random watch for me after seeing Zooey Deschanel in Weeds and knowing she had her own show (so...not so random?). Was a surprise cause I found it genuinely funny and all the characters are great (Jess, Cece, Schmit, Nick and Winston). I usually avoid comedies because a lot of the time, the 'funny' is a miss so I might run through a few other shows to see if I'm missing anything that is up my alley.
So aside from that, probably back to X-Files till new episodes of other shows are upped (don't like the idea of juggling another show alongside something like X-Files).

I'm glad to see Zoey's show doing so well. I've always been a fan of hers from her movies. I thought about watching it when it first came on but decided against it because the new shows I get into usually get cancelled! So I decided to wait until it was on for a few seasons before giving it a try. Good comedies are really rare these days. The last comedy I watched & enjoyed was Friends.

I can't even think of any recent comedy that I've watched. I think Modern Family is the last but that was during the first season, which I didn't even finish. New Girl is the first in some time. I do watch Married with Children reruns but I think that's it and that's a different setup (audience overlay).

Watching LOST but I think I'll call quits on it at the end of S1. I like Kate, Claire, Sun, Hurley, and Sayid but everyone else kind of bothers me. Charlie and Michael I mentioned in the chat, Walter is a clown (burning the boat cause he didn't want to leave the island but watching his father and Chin build *ANOTHER* boat now), Locke is so-so as I don't like how he's been acting lately (he's good but just trying to keep people in the dark lead to Boon's death), Sawyer I'm just sick of the accent and some of his general actions (the whole inhaler thing for instance; he got tortured for it and beat Boon up when he didn't have the inhalers to begin with. All he had to say at the start). Jack, oh boy. He has this perpetual look of "I'm stupid" on his face. He's got a very punchable face because of that.
Gonna check out American Horror Story. Netflix only has S1 though. I remember trying to watch the premiere but my interest was elsewhere at the time so I left it alone.

3 episodes into AHS and I like it. Liking all the history the house has. They change up the location each season I assume? I know S2 is called Asylum and the upcoming season is called 'Coven', dealing with witches/witchcraft. Nice way to keep things fresh.
And took a look today and saw that Netflix finally added S5 of Fringe. So after I finish AHS, gonna finally finish Fringe afterwards.

Finished S1 of AHS. Sad how things ended for the family but at the same time, they're together now and it seems like they're going to make things work in the afterlife since they had trouble doing so living. Not only that, they seem to have given themselves a purpose going forward (scaring people out of the house and not letting the other malicious spirits do to those families what they did to them). So now I'm waiting for them to add S2 (Asylum).
Also started The Killing and finished up the 2 seasons they had (there is a 3rd which takes over a new case but S1 & S2 follow the case of Rosie Larsen's murder). They drew out a murder investigation over 2 seasons (some 20-ish episodes) with a few false arrests and some shoddy police work at times. Leaks and the sort and roadblocks from higher up trying to stop progress. Kind of sad when you get the whole picture to how Rosie died. Wrong place at the wrong time and to make matters worse (SPOILERS >>>), her aunt is the one who drowned her. She was tied up in the trunk and when her aunt's boyfriend (who was having an affair with her and planning to run off with her or so he said) was called by the guy who had chased her down cause she had overheard his plans with some other high officials, Rosie's aunt got out of the car, walked over to the one Rosie was in (not knowing it was her niece), put the car in Drive and let it roll into the lake. Case went on for nearly a month and she couldn't save the rest of the family (who was getting pretty torn apart from the loss) about her role in killing Rosie. She didn't know but it's worse that she knew the entire time (or after the body was found).
EDIT: And on top of the new episodes of Fringe being added, just saw that S2 of New Girl was as well so I'm back to that too. Also looking to maybe start 'Haven', about the supernatural town in Maine. See how I like that.
EDIT2: Also forgot to mention what a horrible parent Sarah was in The Killing. She's got a 14 (?) year old son with her when she gets the Rosie Larsen case and she's about ready to retire, leave to LA and get married but gets consumed by the case. She's missing her flights to leave (on top of her LT at the time telling her she's on the city's dime for another few days), she's not going home which is leaving her son neglected outside of phone calls to check up on him and he starts acting out (sends the dead body photos of the photos to a friend which gets out to the media), people are having to tell/remind her to EAT & SLEEP, and it's just all around a horrible look for her. Her son's father comes back into the picture after like 10 years and instead of letting him see their son or take him for a bit while she handles the case, she threatens and pushes him away which leads to Child Protective Services being called into the picture (which she runs from) which is stupid cause when her back is to the corner (after her partner gets beaten and left for dead looking for evidence), she sends her son to live with him in Chicago anyways. She's a product of the Foster System but damn. Her partner even mentions to her that because of that, she never had the 'Mother' blueprint to follow for Jack (her son).

Slash My parents are huge Haven fans. They've been trying to get me to cave! They said it's right up the alley of fans who love spn shows so I may give it try. I just don't know when since I'm adding like 7 news shows!

I just don't know when since I'm adding like 7 news shows! I watched the first episode and I like it. The humor is nice, going by the first episode. Her boss comes to give her her new assignment and sees a Vampire romance/YA novel on her table and tells her she needs to be focused on reality and before she leaves to get ready, she tells him to put it back on her table when he's done. He proceeds to put it in his pocket. When she arrives at Haven and is saved from an accident, she's pointing her gun at the cop, reaching for her FBI badge and he tells her to stop and she asks something like, "What am I going to do, pull another gun?" So there is some charm to it.

I'm not sure if I'm in the right spot but I watched Cairo Time (it's on Netflix) and I was just stunned with how much I loved it! It's a love story and I suppose I'm a sucker for a good love story. Here are a couple of review snippets from www.rottentomatoes.com/m/cairo_time/ where it received 81% from critics' reviews and the movie trailer below. It's hard to call Cairo Time a "romance." Really, what it is is one of the rare realistic movies about attraction. September 15, 2010 Full Review Source: Seven Days Margot Harrison Seven Days Flirtation is often sexier than consummation. There's a constant 'should I or shouldn't I' tension that gives a tale some spine. September 3, 2010 Full Review Source: MovieMaker Magazine Dan Lybarger MovieMaker Magazine

Since you seem to like spn shows and are watching some that only lasted one season you might want to check out Moonlight. The leads have great chemistry. I'm still ticked at CBS for cancelling it even though it was years ago and Alec has gone on to Hawaii 5-0 which I watch! It was different and came on before the vampire craze caught on.

Well I hope you enjoy that one! Family drama's huh? I can't remember the last family drama I watched? Does Beverly Hills, 90210 count? I'm talking the original, not the crappy remake. No offense if you were a fan. Nothing can touch the original! That had enough drama to last a lifetime and had to deal with the Walsh family so that should count right? Most of the shows I watch tend to lean toward the spn variety. They all have family/friendships that deal with drama, they just happen to live in the supernatural world. SPN for example is a show about spn things, but it has more family drama with the two brothers than I've seen with regular shows! Ask any SPN fan!!! It's what's kept the show going for 9 years! If you want family drama might I suggest Dallas. It's a different drama than what you're probably use to, but family drama nonetheless. Nothing like backstabbing Ewings! I love it!
