So I guess Lily had to be a siphoner witch before she was turned or she wouldn't have been able to perform magic on the ascendant. I wonder if she was cast out of a coven like her other 6 friends were cast out of Gemini? I'm still hoping for a Fell connection! Provokes a lot of questions. Why couldn't/wouldn't Kai just be sucking the magic out of whatever makes vampires vampires all along? It's only the Immortality Spell. Why was he eating pork rinds when Damon could have been his little juice box back in the prison world? If the magic that makes a vampire can be siphoned in the same way Kai has been sucking up magic, if a vampire's magic was siphoned, wouldn't they just revert to their dead state? I believe that Kai wasn't aware of his siphoner power potential at all. I mean, maybe he thought that he could drain the magic only from a witch, not from vampires, or other species. And If he did drain the magic from vampirism, that wouldn't last for long, just like he also did with the magic from Bonnie or Liv. Anyway, If a vampire would be siphoned of his vampirism, I don't think he will die, I rather think he would just get weak, beacause since he's a vampire he has a prolonged lifespan, in other words immortal, but not like Silas immortal. xD Y'know. Anyway. Or maybe he'll start to desiccate. . . and then get back to his normal self after a while . . who knows. X'D

Maybe damon takes the cure accidently? The latest preview photos show him and elena on top of the clocktower and i saw photos fans took when the scene was filmed and they jumped. Maybe damon takes the cure but doesn't want to be human. So he drinks vampire blood and turns back by jumping off the tower? Any other idea why they would jump? What do you mean I dont get it? Fans jumped? And turns back??? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using proboards

OR. Maybe Damon wasn't a vampire in the prison world? Now I have to go back and watch everything to see if he vamped out. Is that why Bonnie protected him in the supermarket? Perhaps she presented him with the Cure knowing from her own experience of living with him in the prison world that he could live as a human? He tells Bonnie he still has fangs, that he's still a vampire when they first arrive in prison world MF. Can't remember if he uses vamp speed or power though.

In case anyone hasn't noticed, I'm super pissed that the writers have done nothing with Elena's character since s4. It just boggles my mind that they would keep her dark and selfish. Then I got to thinking that the writers knowing Nina was leaving decided to keep her character a vampire, dark and selfish in order to keep the endgame neutral.
The writers could have flipped her back over to human and played out s7 with her ending back with Stefan (obviously my bias but it could've gone either way for s7) but of course this can't work if Nina won't be around for the last season. Having Elena's 'endgame' favouring one brother over the other serves no purpose for s6 because TVD is coming back without her. Why piss off either fan base when there will in fact be no Elena in the equation for the last season.
The writers' best option is to end s6 with Elena confirming her love of both boys - this isn't new information - but leaving them because they don't/can't meet what she really wants which is a human life with a family.
Elena is meant to be human. She was never meant to be a vampire and she never wanted to be one. Elena as a human isn't meant to be with vampires even if she is capable of loving them.
Damon has been spouting since s1 that he doesn't want to be human with as recent as s4 Damon refusing to take the cure with Elena even if she'd still love him as a human. Damon can't play house with her. Damon can't be a dad.
Stefan on the other hand can become human in a heartbeat and lead a great human life (with or without Elena) but somehow the cure will not be able to be used on him so a human life is out of the question for him.
As a human Elena admitted to Stefan right before Klaus' sacrifice that she didn't want to be a vampire and that she mourned the loss of a lifetime of choices. It was clear that even though Elena loved Stefan she still didn't want to be a vampire. Lexi and her human-turned-vampire-boyfriend were the perfect example of when it's real you can't walk away (1x08) and if you want to be with someone forever, you have to live forever (1x11). With all this Elena still didn't want to be a vampire to be with Stefan forever. This is going back far but Elena broke up with Matt because she didn't want her whole life mapped out (3x22) and she was freaked out because she doesn't know what she wants out of life.
Elena will finally decide what she does want out of life, a human life with a family, and realise it doesn't/can't include Damon or Stefan.

Maybe with Elena gone the show will turn into some kind of Vampire version of Supernatural? With the 2 brothers remaining? This way they would calm the shipperwars and can focus on storytelling?

I think and hope you are probably right...those last shots of ND filming near or on wickery bridge, I will bet you that Elena does pull a Kelly Taylor of sorts (choosing herself). She is driving out of town as a human and the last thing we see is her throwing her daylight ring into the river.

From the latest episode synopsis it seems as though Damon remains firmly in the driver's seat of her future. I'm waiting for this show to redeem themselves.

Unfortunately anyone with "bad boy" romantic issues is going to identify Damon' actions as purely out of love. When really, Damon is the most insecure/selfish person on this show and has typically acted in his own best interest when it concerns Elena. He only loves and protects his brother when he isn't trying to steal Stefan's girl...he only cares about Elena's friends lives when they don't conflict with her life.
He is the epitome of codependancy. Quite disturbing if you ask me. Him keeping the cure is ridiculous and Bonnie handing it to Damon and not telling her friends about it, bugs me.

Based on the last web clip with no-humanity Caroline mocking DE's doomed relationship makes me believe DE won't be doomed at all. This is Damon's show now (The Vampire Damon) so building all this Damon angst is simply to get the viewers all riled up about Damon's future. Damon will offer Elena the cure but she'll refuse because she can't live without the love of her life. Damon's admission that human Elena would have never chosen him was stated for this build up. We're meant to believe human Elena won't love Damon so vampire Elena won't choose to be human because she believes it too. tvdfansince1991 I love the idea of Elena choosing herself but it's The Vampire Damon show which has taken me awhile to finally come around to. I'm still somewhat in denial and still falsely have hope in the writers that they'll have a proper send off for Elena but they've ignored Elena all season so why would the writers worry about her now. (You see how crazy this show has made me that I can't even complete a thought without oscillating back and forth.) You're right too that Damon forcing Elena to take the cure will be viewed as a pure act of love. Damon will also compel her to lead the life she's always wanted. This will 'redeem' Damon because it'll be what he should have done for the sire bond. There are so many similarities between s6 and s4 with the cure, the angst between DE whether or not Elena would still love him as a human and with Damon being solely responsible for Elena's fate exactly as it was for the sire bond. In the end Elena will 'die' - until the series finale - because Damon would never really be able to let her go off and lead her own life without the gang, well Damon, interfering with her life. SE are soul-friends. The won't leave DE as soul-friends.
