I think the writers feel like its easier to write about Damon because of the fact that the character is written as having no real moral boundaries, accepting of his role as a vampire and being humorous about it. Even though their is some complexity to Damon especially through his relationship with Stefan and Katherine (in the first season), he really is the quintessential anti-hero badboy that every man wants to be and every woman wants to fix and be with. Stefan has more layers to him, the guilt of killing people as the ripper, guilt of turning his brother, being compelled and tricked by the woman he thought he loved etc. Even though I think the first 3 seasons were excellent and some episodes from the rest, this show has made me appreciate Buffy and Angel so much more because Joss Whedon and his writers really took time in creating character development. Angel with all his brooding could be funny, scary etc, while this show occasionally through Paul Wesleys great acting gave Stefans character some depth more than the typical hero vampire. Paul is a great actor but I have (particularly this last episode) felt that he seems so uninterested, like he wants the scene to end as fast as possible. Hopefully they can finally come to a conclusion regarding DE and focus on other relationships (dont have to be romantic), work on the storyline and try to give the fans a good show again. PREACH!

It makes you realize that TVD has a cast of very tall men. what Kiki said...not very tall. Paul is easily under 6'0". It is actually surprising how short a lot of actors are in real life. For the record, Emilio Estevez is like ridiculously short.

I am concerned a little about Stefan. I have noticed lately in some of the episodes that Enzo is always in Stefan's face about one thing or another. Enzo seems to think Stefan is keeping a lot of secrets. I think he is too. The question is what are they? We know he knows the location of Zack's daughter and has been watching over her all this time (my hero). What else is he hiding? Could it be about Elena?
Thoughts.

I think in the US the average male height is 5'9 1/2" or 5'10" and female average is 5'4 1/2" or 5'5", those number vary slightly by country. So for me, a guy needs to be above the average to be tall.

Thoughts. I feel you are onto something! Stefan could be holding a lot of Salvatore history. As he did not save "Sarah," it seems likely that Enzo will seek out the real Sarah?

Thoughts. . Hmm, really interesting. Initially I was annoyed and thought that entire B story was stupid--why is Enzo getting all worked up about Stefan? I realize they haven't been close, but Enzo's hatred seems like a stretch especially since they've given him such poor character development. The whole storyline just seemed unfounded. But then I read your post and rewatched 6x09. After he kills Monique, Enzo says to Stefan: "All this could have been avoided if you had just told the truth." I think there is a whole lot of meaning in that one line, like series-defining meaning. As in, "all" the pain and suffering Stefan-- and perhaps Elena and the rest--have experienced since meeting the Salvatore brothers. The question is, told the truth about what? What is Stefan hiding? Will it change the way we look at him? And will it retcon his character development? (I know this post should go in theories but I'm too lazy to put it there right now... :/

Maybe Enzo thinks Stefan did know about Augustine? Stefan withholds information to protect someone. What else could Stefan know that no one else -- but Enzo -- knows? Maybe Stefan did know about the prison realm but just didn't know how to get Damon back?

Thoughts. That is a very interesting theory, stelena4ever. Everyone thinks that, it makes no sense that Enzo hates Stefan so much. Stefan never really did anything to Enzo, Damon was the one who killed his girlfriend (and, don't ask me why or how but he forgave Damon imediately). So, Enzo was supposed to be Damon's best friend, right now, but they barely talk to each other. He's a Stefan hater instead. If you ask me, it's just bad writting and the writers creating an anti-hero (since Damon can't do it anymore because he's trying to get Elena back) to be opposite to Stefan's hero status... In s01 till 03, I would say that you're right and that the writers have a secret agenda. But now, I don't think so, I think it's just bad writting, really

The writers have proven inept at complex storytelling, did season 5 teach us nothing? look at all of us thinking there were deeper meaning to storylines and nope, we got nothing in return. Sorry writers, once bitten, twice shy I am
