Scoop: Supernatural Spin-Off Premise Revealed
The Supernatural spin-off will have Chicago roots.
The potential offshoot, which is still in the early stages of development, will be set in Chi-town, — and it seems all is not peaceful there.
The project will explore the clashing hunter and monster cultures in the Windy City. The planted pilot will air as an episode of the long-running CW series in the spring and will feature several new characters.
Still on the fence about this. I don't know if lighting could strike twice. Chemistry like Jensen & Jared's doesn't come around very often. This show would have HUGE shoes to fill.

UPDATE ON POSSIBLE SPN SPIN OFF- MONSTERS BUT NOW WINCHESTERS IN CHICAGOA few more details about the potential "Supernatural" spinoff came out of the CW executive session at the TCA press tour on Tuesday (July 30). Network president Mark Pedowitz was asked about the show early on and was willing to share what he knew. Alas for the "Supernatural" spinoiff, there aren't many details available yet. That would be because the development of any new series remains in the earliest stages. The spinoff will first appear as an episode implanted into Season 9 of "Supernatural" and will continue the parent series' focus on the fight between hunters versus demons, monsters and the like. Unlike the constantly traveling "Supernatural," this spinoff will have a very set location: Chicago. There will be one other big change between the original and the spinoff as well -- none of the actors known from "Supernatural" are expected to appear regularly in the new series. "I don't think anyone's planning to have continuing characters" Pedowitz explained when asked about who might carry over. There is obviously a chance that the Winchesters or Castiel might show up at any point, but whoever the regulars of this spinoff might be, they will be new. EDIT
While discussing the spin-off Pedowitz had this to say about the current series "the ninth season may not be its last "as long as there are great stories to tell... there's no reason why it can't continue."This is the best news I've heard all week!!!

tara I have a feeling that's going to be a Cass heavy episode. Then again maybe not since angels literally fell from the sky! I can't wait for any of it. They said in the premiere we were going to see Cass doing laundry? Of course that could've been Misha messing with everyone, you never know with him!
