Supernatural Names New Showrunners as Jeremy Carver Moves to Frequency
Supernatural will be heading into Season 12 with new leadership. TVLine has learned that showrunner Jeremy Carver will step down at the conclusion of the current 11th season to focus on his new CW thriller Frequency, which earlier this week was ordered to series. He will be succeeded by the new co-showrunning team of Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb. Singer has been with Supernatural since Season 1 as an exec producer, director and occasional writer. Dabb joined the series in Season 4, working his way up from writer/story editor to co-executive producer. Carver, meanwhile, began as a script writer on Supernatural in Season 3. He left following Season 5 to work on Syfy’s Being Human, only to return in Season 8 as showrunner. Supernatural’s renewal in March positioned it to be the longest-running show in CW and WB history. The season 11 finale airs May 25. tvline.com/2016/05/13/supernatural-season-12-jeremy-carver-leaving-showrunner/

Anna More GG updates I thought you'd find interesting. I'm not sure if you were a fan of Jared's character, but he seems pretty excited about what they have in store for his return. Dean's returning to Doose's! Jared Padalecki talks his Gilmore Girls revival sceneFor those of you under the impression that Dean Forester still spends his days working at Doose’s Market in Stars Hollow … well, there’s a chance you’re right. Although we still don’t know exactly what is going on with Dean’s life when we catch up with him in Netflix’s upcoming Gilmore Girls revival, titled Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, star Jared Padalecki revealed a few details about his return during a recent fan convention for Supernatural. Speaking to his conversation with Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino about the revival, Padalecki said, “I was doing Supernatural, so she basically said, ‘Listen, we’re going to write you a really cool scene, and if you get a day off, let us know and we will just put your scene on the schedule for that day.’ She was like, ‘Listen, it’s a set that we already run and own, it’s an actress that already is working every day, so let us know.’” And in the end, not only did it work out for Dean to make his return, but Padalecki revealed that the scene takes place in Doose’s Market, the location of Dean and Rory’s first kiss. “Dean has a cool scene in the market he used to work in,” Padalecki said. (Whether that actress he spoke about is in fact Alexis Bledel is still unknown, but odds are, if she’s working every day, her character’s first name is Lorelai.) Padalecki added: “It’s a really nice scene that gave me closure.” According to Padalecki, he’d never had closure prior to the revival simply because he got Supernatural while still working on Gilmore Girls, which pulled him away from Stars Hollow without much warning. Many years later, Padalecki was able to say goodbye to Dean, and viewers will get that chance when Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life hits Netflix later this year. See all that Padalecki had to say (starting at about the 3:20 mark) in the video below. So tara and gclm I know we're a little behind, but what did you ladies think of the finale? I read online that a lot of people didn't like it which is kinda sad because I remember Jensen talking in one of his panels that this finale is one of the most collaborative they've ever had between the writers and actors. I guess people were expecting something explosive to happen or someone to sacrifice themselves which I was perfectly fine with not happening!!! I was glad Dean didn't have to die for the thousandth time!!! Yes it was a little low key for a finale, but that didn't make it bad. I wasn't expecting them to let Amara live so that was a little disappointing. I was hoping we'd never have to see her again, but she did heal Chuck even though she was the one that nearly killed him in the first place! Leave it to Dean to talk some sense into her. And she did bring Mary back which is going to be very interesting! Is it just for an episode or will they bring her back for good? So Crowley and Rowena teaming up with the Winchesters? Is this truce just a one time thing or will they go back to being enemies again? I kinda like it when they're all getting along. Who is this new British chick from MOL? How much trouble is she going to cause for our boys since she's apparently going to be around for awhile. We know she obviously didn't kill Sam even though we heard a gun shot. But Sam thinks Dean is dead right now so we'll get to see another epic brother reunion which are always awesome!!! This brings me to my favorite scene of the episode!!! A chick flick moment!!!! tara love your signature!

A chick flick moment!!!! tara love your signature! I enjoyed this finale. It wasn't as eye-catching as the angels falling from heaven or Dean going to Hell but I liked {Dont read if you havent watched the finale!} the mom coming back and the overseas men of letters shooting Sam.
The part I found a little ho-hum was the quick resolution of god and Amara. I mean, he's supposed to be GOD, and he was set up pretty great in previous episodes but their resolution seemed rushed and too simple. I just think the theme of selfishness, Amara being jealous of people, could have been explored earlier as the source of evil and better (selfishness leading to all evil is something the viewers - I guess I mean me (selfish?) - could relate to versus a vague EVIL). We're all capable of (pure) evil and I believe its a choice to be good - see why I love(d) Stefan so much!
The revelation of god could have made a spectacular finale. It's just their resolution (god and Amara) sort of just fizzled out for me.
Everyone working together was a great idea and I liked how it was executed. Supernatural is such a solid show in every aspect and even though it wasn't all fireworks the finale still piqued my interest of what's to come for next season.
