I really have a hard time finding a connection between the flashbacks and the present time. What do the flashbacks want to tell me? I just don't get it. Ok, with Lian Yu it shows how they got to know each other. But the whole Island story was so confusing. Maybe because English is not my native language I might miss out on something
The "flash backs" were really kinda cryptic last season.... Even the zealots were crying .... The Island story was just background to show his progression through perilous times..... the stuff with Lian Yu was a bit deeper and had bearing on present day ( I admit I was saying ....WHY) more than once.
Still a great series.... I think the action scenes may be the best on TV..... lots of Choreographing, and they do it well....
man you are late for the game. Are you rewatching or what???
Arrow (The CW) When to Watch: Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. What to Expect: Season four is already off to a great start…and it hasn't even premiered yet! Executive producer Wendy Mericle says that Felicity and Oliver are going to be happy and together for a while. "We didn't come all this way to break them up right away," Mericle says. Plus, Diggle's got his own superhero suit, Constantine's coming to Star City to help with Sara Lance's resurrection, and Damien Darhk is set to be the toughest, scariest villain Oliver has ever faced. But at least he'll have a brand new suit to do it in. Bring it on!
When Season 4 opens, "The city has declined drastically despite the best efforts of Dig, Speedy and Black Canary," executive producer Wendy Mericle previews. "And with the arrival of Damien Darhk (Justified's Neal McDonough) on the scene, it's obviously big stakes." Hence, Oliver and Felicity's return – though not everyone is welcoming back the archer with open arms. Dig is still "frosty" toward his "brother," Mericle says, while Quentin still is not thrilled with the masked vigilantes yet has come to see them "as a necessary evil." Speaking of the Lance clan, Constantine (guest star Matt Ryan) will be "key" in resurrecting Sara, whose presence will be met by "very different reactions" from her family. As for Thea, her secret identity and new love interest (Suburgatory's Parker Young) will force her to tackle a challenge Oliver is all too familiar with: "She's now a superhero, and she wants to have a normal life," Mericle notes. "How does she balance both of those things?"
BONUS SPOILER!: Mericle shared this cryptic tease after we mentioned a popular fan theory about Oliver running for Mayor: "He will definitely be coming more to the fore as Oliver Queen and balancing that with his new role as the Green Arrow. He'll be bringing some light to the city. I can't say exactly how, but that's his goal."
For Arrow, anything Merlyn other than his connection to the resurrection? — Raissa I’ll let EP Marc Guggenheim take this: “The best way to put it is its father knows worst,” he says. “Malcolm comes into the story very much more in the role of Thea’s father than in the role of the Head of the League of Assassins. It’s so much fun to play with Malcolm as dad because his choices are just very unusual. Much to the chagrin of Thea, he doesn’t handle things the way a typical father would.”
Thanks for the Arrow scoop, but do you have more on the big bad for season 4? — Jesse Damien Darhk will be gunning for Oliver on more than one front. “Oliver’s going to be taking up more of an overt role in terms of the city is in a bad space,” showrunner Wendy Mericle tells me. “He’s going to be taking on Damien Darhk, and he’s going to be fighting him not just as Green Arrow, but also as Oliver Queen. It’s public and it’s part of him stepping into the light.”
I’m so excited for Season 4 of Arrow and Olicity. But I was wondering what we can expect from Felicity on her own? What kind of storyline will she have? –Natalie As we previously reported, Felicity will be stepping up and facing challenges as Palmer Tech’s new CEO. Speaking of the company’s namesake, the discovery that presumed-dead Ray is actually alive is “a huge emotional reveal, especially for Felicity,” executive producer Wendy Mericle previews. But don’t worry, Olicity ‘shippers — “It’s more of an emotional reaction to the loss of a friend than any sort of romantic rival. She’s very happy with Oliver when we come back in Season 4, but [she and Ray] were friends and they left on good terms. It’s more just the relief of, ‘Oh my gosh, I thought you were gone and now you’re not. How exciting is that?'”
What is Arrow‘s Diggle willing to do to find the truth about Andy’s death? Will flashbacks with Andy parallel his current life (as Oliver’s tend to)? –Ann First of all, the possibility of there being Diggle/Andy flashbacks this season is currently at “maybe,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim says, and there’s a reason for that. “In Season 1, we broke format and did a flashback from Moira’s perspective, in Episode 21. That worked out so well, we did more non-island flashbacks in Season 2,” he explains. “And that worked out so well, we thought, ‘Let’s do more in Season 3’ — but for my money, we ended up doing too many. Every time you did a non-island or non-Hong Kong Flashback, you stop that story so it prevents that story from gaining momentum.” As such, the first flashback to break away from format this season won’t happen until Episode 8. Any scoop about Felicity’s father on Arrow? –Sara Like, whether we’ll learn any information about the elusive figure now that Donna Smoak’s visit has been extended? “We’re hoping,” executive producer Wendy Mericle responds. Adds EP Marc Guggenheim: “We’re always talking about it, but we have to find the right story and the right moment. We trust that it will come to us when it’s meant to come to us.” Maybe it’s a good thing the daddy issues haven’t come up yet, because funny Felicity is back “with a vengeance” in Season 4, Guggenheim reports. “[Emily Bett Rickards is] on the top of her game. She’s hysterical. We’re definitely writing jokes for her, but she’s also finding humor in lines that weren’t intentionally humorous.”
WoW, was the season opener loaded with Olicity fells or what......
Everyones fighting better this season and the stunts were choreographed to a T.... I loved Olicity's time together in suburban bliss, but we all knew that wouldn't last.... Good intro for Daimon Darhk (gona be a great "Big Bad") , but is Lance doing working for him?
Now to the cliffhanger..... it's huge.... No I don't think that's Felicity, Thea, or Laural.... My money's on Lance.... it was a six mo time jump but no way would Olie and Barry be that composed..... My angst is maybe we just saw the final scene of the season and we'll have to wait to see who's in the fresh grave.....
Felicity, you've failed this omelet.... what a cheesy yolk....
