I'm still in shock and crying ! It was too soon! I wasn't ready!!!!!!!!!!! shoe20 what about you? I thought about you when I read about this tonight! Hang in there sweetie! Here's what you have to look forward to if you chose to stick with the show. Reign boss on what comes next after that heartbreaking death
We knew it was coming. We just didn’t know when. And now, only five episodes into Reign’s third season, King Francis is dead. But before you relive his best moments, EW spoke exclusively to showrunner Laurie McCarthy about what Francis’ death will mean for those he leaves behind and whether Mary will find love again. Here’s a rundown of what’s coming next on the show that McCarthy says will “embrace change as opposed to hiding from it”: On Catherine: “It doesn’t just affect Mary’s life, it affects Catherine, who after a lot of really interesting, dramatic struggle, goes on to become a leader in her own right,” McCarthy says, adding, “She becomes the regent of France for decades to come.” However, nothing will be easy for Catherine. “[His death] shifts the power dynamic at court between Narcisse and Catherine. There’s going to be a huge battle for the regency coming up and a blossoming relationship between she and Narcisse because his ambition is going to be awakened again.” Sorry, Lola. On Mary and Elizabeth: McCarthy says Francis’ death “heightens the dynamic between Mary and Elizabeth, because suddenly they’re both vying for the same men, really. It makes Mary more of a threat to Elizabeth because the question becomes who is she going to marry next and because she has to make a political marriage, will it be something that puts Elizabeth in even more jeopardy?” Furthermore, his death “puts a young king, even younger than Francis, on the throne and that shifts the dynamic in France as well.” Hope you’re up for the challenge, Charles. On Claude: It’s sometimes easy to forget that as a member of the royal family, Claude can also be used by both allies and enemies, a fact that could become more prominent now that Francis is gone. “Claude has a close relationship with her brother and she’s got his protection but once he’s gone, what does that do to her life, knowing that nobles get traded for marriage as well,” McCarthy explains. On the loss of an epic romance: By losing Francis, fans also lose Frary, the couple at the center of it all. But McCarthy is confident that they will be able to fill that void … if they feel the need. “I think that there will be another epic romance. I’m not promising that it’ll be an epic romance for Mary right away, but there are other epic romances coming, and one of them is Elizabeth and Dudley in England,” she says, adding, “I think the show’s more than that. I trust that the architecture of the show can hold an epic romance but that that’s not all that the show is.” www.ew.com/article/2015/11/13/reign-postmortem-francis-deathReign': Francis' Best Moments

Honestly i know this was the storyline history wrote but they didn't stick to history that much. The real francis died as a kid... i was hoping they would just go on ignoring real history. How can a show that's struggeling with ratings already survive the loss of it's main love couple???

I'm still in shock and crying ! It was too soon! I wasn't ready!!!!!!!!!!! shoe20 what about you? We both knew it was coming, that's for sure..... I was just shocked it was so early in the season... I'm happy about the way they sent him off.... Saving Mary's life, and not wasting away in bed... Still the main reason I watch the show is/was Fiary.... the only other couple of any interest is Claude/Leith.... Too bad they sidelined Bash so much and made Mary distasteful by cheating on Francis with Conde..... I'll probably still watch gclm, but a bunch of the joy just got buried.... It was just too soon!

Reign's Toby Regbo Says Goodbye to Fans: 'It's Been an Absolute Pleasure'
“So, after a [few] good innings, Francis finally bit the bullet,” Regbo posted to Twitter on Sunday night, just two days after his royal character’s death aired on The CW. “A rare ear infection/assassin combo.” “I just wanted to say it’s been an absolute pleasure,” he continued. “I want to say a massive thank you to you, the fans, who make it so worthwhile. … It’s been a blast being the king.”

SPOILER:
Is there any scoop for Reign? –LoriCW boss Mark Pedowitz hopes that the historical drama sees Season 4 — if only because “we’ve got to find out if [Mary] goes back to Scotland!” When I asked if there had been any talk of keeping Francis alive even longer than he should have been, Pedowitz said, “No, because we wanted that moment, because there is a level of history. We get knocked on that, but we always knew Francis would meet his demise. And the real richness of the stories this year I think are coming from [his death], the introduction of Queen Elizabeth…. And I think it’ll even be richer when we move her to Scotland.” tvline.com/2016/01/19/sleepy-hollow-season-3-papa-mills-spoilers/#more-675785

‘Reign’s Torrance Coombs Departs To Join ABC ‘Star-Crossed’ Pilot, 2 Others Cast Torrance Coombs is segueing from one soapy costume drama set in 16th century Western Europe to another. The Reign co-star has been cast in Still Star-Crossed, ABC’s Romeo & Juliet sequel drama pilot from Shondaland. Also cast in the project, written by Heather Mitchell, are Wade Briggs (Home and Away), who has landed the male lead after a global search, and Ebonée Noel. Coombs, who plays one of the leads, Sabastian “Bash”, in Reign, will depart the series after the current third season as a regular but may come back as a guest star for a few episodes should the drama is renewed for a fourth season. Based on the book by Melinda Taub, Still Star-Crossed is set in 16th century Verona and picks up where William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet left off. It charts the treachery, palace intrigue and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate. Canadian-born Coombs will play the handsome Count Paris, “your basic Prince Charming.” The Count of Mantua, he is betrothed to marry to Juliet, a woman he’s never met, but as a respectable young nobleman well-versed in the art of romantic chivalry, he is greatly saddened when she dies though there is hidden darkness to him. I hear Coombs’ deal is for one year. deadline.com/2016/03/reign-torrance-coombs-exit-abc-pilot-still-star-crossed-cast-1201717210/

Reign Star Previews Mary's Next Chapter, Laments Bash's 'Bummer' Exit
After a four-month hiatus, Reign returns to The CW on Monday (8/7c) to wrap up its third season — and to bid farewell to a fan-favorite character. “It’s a bummer, but Bash doesn’t have a lot of traction in Scotland,” Adelaide Kane tells TVLine of Torrance Coombs’ character, who won’t be back for Season 4. “His storyline soon will come to its conclusion, and his character has other avenues to explore that might not necessarily be on screen. Kane adds, “Torrance also has a lot of exciting things happening for him career-wise, rather than working two days a week on our show. I’m so happy for him, and I’m going to miss him. It’s bittersweet when someone who’s been with you for the whole journey goes on to do their own bigger, better things.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like Mary will have too much time to plan Bash’s going-away… bash… as she’ll be a little preoccupied playing her own Game of Thrones. “Mary’s main focus is just getting back to Scotland and trying to re-establish her power in her homeland,” Kane explains. “She’s attempting to take over as a queen in a country she hasn’t been to since she was six years old. She’s really finding her footing back in Scotland.” And as difficult as it may be to see old friends and locations disappear, Kane wants fans to remember that — historically speaking — this is only the beginning of Mary’s story. “It’s a whole new chapter, a whole new country and a whole new court,” she says. “There will be new friends and new enemies. We’re gearing up for some really big storylines in Season 4. Mary’s life didn’t even really start until she got to Scotland; that’s when things really kicked off for her. France was a lovely interlude, but it was only a small part of her life.” As if all of the above wasn’t enough, “She’ll also have to make the difficult decision of who to marry next,” Kane teases. tvline.com/2016/04/25/reign-spoilers-bash-leaving-mary-new-husband-season-3/#more-706999

gclm It looks like they've cast Mary's next husband! What do you think? Not bad looking. Doesn't sound like a match made in heaven though. Reign’: Will Kemp Joins As New Love Interest For Season 4
Mary is getting a new noble suitor. English actor Will Kemp (Van Helsing) has been cast in the upcoming fourth season of the CW series Reign. He is booked for three episodes with an option to become a series regular. Kemp will play Lord Darnley, a character based on the real-life English nobleman who would become the second husband of Mary Queen of Scots, played on the show by Adelaide Kane. Breezily confident, charming and warm, he was born with a blood claim of his own to the English throne and a wildly ambitious mother whose love hinges entirely on his ability to secure a crown. Mary fell in love with Lord Darnley, who was her first cousin, while mourning the death of her first husband Francis. The two got married, but the relationship quickly deteriorated as Darnley grew more and more arrogant. He subsequently was murdered, with suspicion lingering that Mary might have had a hand in that. The addition of Kemp could help fill the void left by the departure of Reign co-star Torrance Coombs, who segued to the new ABC drama series Still Star-Crossed. Kemp recently completed a major recurring role on the second season of Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce and next will be seen in the indies The Secrets of Emily Blair and Slumber. On the CW, Kemp previously did an arc on 90210. He is repped by Gersh and Wishlab in the US and by United Agents in the UK. deadline.com/2016/06/reign-will-kemp-cast-1201768342/
