HERE’S WHAT’S COMING UP FOR CAROLINE FORBES IN TVD’S FINAL SEASON With her radiant smile and sunny disposition, Caroline Forbes (Candice King) has managed to bring a sense of warmth to the dark, gloomy world of Mystic Falls — and if recent cast interviews about The Vampire Diaries season 8 are anything to go by, it definitely seems as though she’ll continue fulfilling that role right up until the show’s bittersweet end. Cast in point: In her latest chat with Entertainment Weekly, TVD boss Julie Plec had plenty of scoop to share about Care Bear’s upcoming story line. Not only did she tease what’s in store for Caroline in terms of career prospects, but she also dropped hints about her relationship with Stefan and twin daughters. Apparently our favorite blonde vampire will be doing her best to balance the many, many complicated facets of her life (which we all know will go totally perfectly and not have any hiccups along the way). “Caroline is trying, in her wonderfully Caroline way, to be all things to all people,” Plec revealed. “She’s trying to be the perfect mother, the perfect baby mama to her recently parted fiancé, she has a new job, she’s back in Mystic Falls. She’s working at the local news station in Mystic Falls as a behind the scenes journalist this time” Between motherhood, baby motherhood and her career, it definitely sounds like Caroline’s plate is going to be full in TVD’s final season – but of course she still has yet another side of her life to tend to, while doing her best to balance both professional and personal responsibilities. “She’s also trying to juggle a very important relationship to Stefan against the crisis of the moment, which is that Stefan’s brother is MIA,” Julie continued, “She’s multi-tasking in her own fierce, fabulous way. Lots big shifts and moves coming up for her this year.” How do you think Caroline’s attempts to be everything to everyone, all while keeping her own priorities in check, will work out over the course of The Vampire Diaries season 8? Are you worried about her potential stress level or do you think she can handle it all like the detail-oriented boss lady she is? vampirediaries.com/08222016-caroline-forbes-tvd-season-8-steroline-alaric-spoilers/

MATT DAVIS TEASES EXCITING CHARACTER RETURNS IN ‘THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ SEASON 8 Get excited, fang fans: According to Matt Davis, the final season of The Vampire Diaries will be one of major twists — and some very exciting cameos. During a roundtable interview at San Diego Comic-Con 2016, our fine friends over at TooFab asked Matt to share any hints as to which characters fans can look forward to returning for the show’s final season. While it can certainly be tricky for any writer or cast member to chat about the crazy supernatural world of Mystic Falls without revealing too much information, Matt found the perfect balance — he didn’t offer any specifics but he did tease all the upcoming surprise visits with a little story. “In the props department, they’re in charge of setting up the directors chairs for the cast and they put the back of the chair with the actors name and they told me the other day, you’ll be shocked for all the chair backs we have for the people coming back in Season 8.” Ah, we can’t wait to find out more! True, we we may not have any detailed casting confirmations yet, but it definitely sounds as though the TVD powers-that-be are doing the best they can to bring back as many blasts from the pasts as possible and giving them a proper goodbye. We already know that Tristan Mays recently confirmed her return to the show, and that the network is in talks with Nina Dobrev about reprising her role as Elena Gilbert- who will hopefully spring up just in time for the grand finale– but we can’t wait to find out which other old friends (and possibly foes) will appear in our screens when the hit CW series premieres on Friday, October 21! vampirediaries.com/08232016-matt-davis-teases-exciting-character-returns-in-tvd-season-8/

IS THIS A SIGN THAT NINA DOBREV IS COMING BACK TO THE VAMPIRE DIARIES? Get excited: It seems as though Nina Dobrev is making good on her promise to executive producer Julie Plec and returning to The Vampire Diaries just in time for the show’s bittersweet series finale. While the CW has not yet issued an official statement confirming the news, a glimmer of hope appeared on IMDb on Wednesday, August 17. In the section highlighting the actress’s numerous on-screen roles, the TVD subcategory was edited to reflect a new credit for the season 8 finale. Take a look: So does this mean viewers can look forward to a tear-filled homecoming event, in which we reunite with Elena Gilbert but have to part ways with Bonnie Bennett? Well, while IMDb tends to be a wonderful source of information regarding casting alerts and entertainment industry news, just like anything that lives on the Internet, it is not always 100% accurate. Here’s what the site has to say on its reliability as a media database: The information in IMDb comes from various sources. While we actively gather information from and verify items with studios and filmmakers, the bulk of our information is submitted by people in the industry and visitors like you. In addition to using as many sources as we can, our data goes through consistency checks to ensure it’s as accurate and reliable as possible. However, there’s absolutely no substitute for an international team of entertainment fans with an encyclopedic knowledge of trivia and a large assortment of reference works (and we include in this group many of our loyal contributors). Our sources of information include, but are not limited to, on-screen credits, press kits, official bios, autobiographies, and interviews. Given the sheer volume and the nature of the information we list, occasional mistakes are inevitable and, when spotted/reported, they are promptly verified and fixed. That’s why we welcome corrections and submissions. Make of this what you will, but we doubt this is a careless error or some bored person’s attempt at a prank. Being the sanguine fang fans that we are, we’ll go right ahead and interpret the update on Nina’s page as a reassuring sign that she plans on bringing her character’s journey full circle — especially since Plec and CW President Mark Pedowitz both revealed they currently are in talks with her. During the 2016 Television Critics Association panel, when asked if the talented starlet was planning on diving back into all the supernatural drama again, Pedowitz replied, “There are discussions going on with Nina. We’d love to have her back. She was great for the CW. She was integral to The Vampire Diaries. These are discussions that go on.” Moreover, in a recent Comic-Con interview, Plec commented that the actress made an “emotional promise” to her — one that she hopes Nina keeps. “There’s been friendship promises made, and now we’ll see if we can deliver on them,” she pointed out. More Vampire Diaries Season 8 Scoop from Kat Graham via THR
THR caught up with Kat Graham at Teen Choice Awards where she shared a nice bit of scoop from the upcoming final season. Check out what Kat teased! “It’s bittersweet because it feels like the end, but you know, a lot of us have a lot of other projects that we’re doing and gearing up to release,” Graham told THR. “So it’s bittersweet, but it’s kind of fun.” Graham and the rest of the TVD cast are currently a couple of weeks into filming season 8, and according to her, there’s a lot lined up. “There’s definitely a really cool female villain. I know the actress — she’s amazing,” Graham toldTHR. “It’s a take on an old classic story that we’re bringing to life.” She also teased “a big death coming up.” “Not in the season premiere — but, you know, midway through, someone’s kickin’ the bucket,” Graham said. vampirediariesonline.com/interviews/more-vampire-diaries-season-8-scoop-from-kat-graham-via-thr/

SPOILERS:
Question: I got weirdly excited when I read that Sarah Salvatore is coming back to The Vampire Diaries. Any idea what brings her back to Mystic Falls? –ChrisAusiello: That’s a good question, Chris. So good, in fact, that we posed it to executive producer Julie Plec, who offered this cryptic response: “It’s actually a mystery what brings her back. It’s seemingly disconnected to everything, and yet when we realize the what, we understand that it’s tied into exactly what the villain is attempting to do.” I’m curious to hear how you interpret that — once you’ve re-read it a few times, of course. tvline.com/2016/08/16/colton-haynes-arrow-return-season-5-roy-spoilers/Anything about Damon on The Vampire Diaries? — StephNow under the control of the mysterious new big bad, Damon finds himself being judge, jury, and executioner when the show returns. “Damon has unfortunately become a little bit of a servant to an evil who has an opinion on what should happen to people who do bad things,” EP Julie Plec teases. “He’s a little bit of a minion at the moment, and we’ll have to learn who he’s a minion for and why.” www.ew.com/article/2016/08/26/spoiler-room-vampire-diaries-arrow-greys-anatomy?xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitterQuestion: What can you tell us about Alaric’s upcoming storyline on The Vampire Diaries? —AnnaAusiello: I’ll say this, Anna: Don’t shed too many tears over his recent split from Caroline. And I’ll let executive producer Julie Plec explain why: “Alaric hasn’t had the best luck with women. I don’t know if he should be jumping into anything anytime soon, but if he does, the hot nanny would certainly be viable.” (The “hot nanny” in question is newcomer Seline, played by Containment’s Kristen Gutoskie.) tvline.com/2016/08/31/nashville-connie-britton-season-5-rayna-dies-spoilers/

The Vampire Diaries: Tyler Lockwood is back! Michael Trevino is returning in season 8
When The Vampire Diaries fans first met Tyler Lockwood, he was the football-throwing jerk who thought he was too cool for school. But when the season 2 introduced the Lockwood family werewolf curse, things changed. Tyler started to evolve as a character, and the moment he fell in love with Caroline Forbes, the audience fell in love with him. Six seasons later, he’d been a hybrid, a human, and a werewolf when he decided it was time to leave Mystic Falls behind. The season 6 finale marked his farewell, though he popped up briefly in season 7 as the man responsible for keeping Elena’s comatose body safe. When last we saw him, Damon — a bit out of his mind — beat him unconscious. But Tyler made it out alive. Proof? EW can exclusively reveal that Michael Trevino is returning for the eighth and final season of The Vampire Diaries. First appearing in episode 3, Tyler will once again come face-to-face with Damon, except this time, Damon’s mental state is even worse as he continues to spiral out of control after his experience in the vault. Tyler will attempt to talk some sense into Damon by reminding him what and who is important, but if history is any indication, Damon’s not always eager to listen to Tyler… The Vampire Diaries returns Friday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. www.ew.com/article/2016/09/06/vampire-diaries-michael-trevino-tyler-lockwood

Fall TV Spoilers 2016:
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES When TVD kicks off its final 16 episodes, the group’s main focus is still rescuing Damon and Enzo from the mysterious darkness currently consuming them. “This dark turn is different [from previous ones] because of the reason why Damon is dark and how he feels about where he is in his life,” executive producer Julie Plec explains. “This isn't the Damon who's in it for the thrill and the wicked perverse pleasure; he's doing this for a reason.” Bonnie will do her best to help, though “she’s had a pretty unlucky run of trying to get her magic back in the time since we’ve seen her. She’s a bit at the point of giving up.” Meanwhile, Stefan and Caroline are “as strong as can be, considering what’s going on. They’re finding comfort and safety in each other.” And although she’s wearing more hats than ever in Season 8 — “she has a relationship she values, but is also trying to be a respectful co-parent” — Caroline has “got it all going on,” Plec assures us. Elsewhere, Matt will look to his past for answers about his future, and Alaric may be tempted by the new nanny. BONUS SPOILER!: Unlike her fellow vampires, Caroline will be gainfully employed in Season 8. RETURN DATE: Friday, Oct. 21 at 8/7c (The CW) tvline.com/gallery/fall-tv-2016-season-premiere-spoilers/#!39/fall-preview-vampire-diaries-1/

What can you tell us about Steroline in season 8 of The Vampire Diaries? Are they going to be happy and what is in store for them? Thanks. — Cameliamane
Well, it’s certainly not an easy restart to the relationship since Stefan has other things on his mind. But Caroline also has a big year ahead. “Caroline is trying, in her wonderfully Caroline way, to be all things to all people,” EP Julie Plec says. “She’s trying to be the perfect mother, the perfect baby mama to her recently parted fiancé, she has a new job, she’s back in Mystic Falls.
