Claire Holt returns in exclusive first look at Originals fall finale
Now that Elijah and Klaus have the necessary information to retrieve their beloved Rebekah from the bottom of the ocean, it seems their always-and-forever sibling is going to make it home in time for the holidays. And because the Mikaelsons are creatures of habit, Originals fans can expect at least one more return … the return of holiday traditions, that is. EW has an exclusive first look at Claire Holt in the upcoming Originals midseason finale, in which Rebekah, Elijah, and Klaus all stand around a fire. As fans of the show know, the family has a tradition of writing down their wishes and burning them for good luck. And even though they’re in the middle of fighting a life-threatening prophecy, it seems they still manage to find time to make a few wishes. (Either that, or they’re waiting for one of Freya’s spells to kill someone. You never know.) www.ew.com/article/2015/12/04/originals-claire-holt-fall-finale

The Originals' Leah Pipes Teases 'Great Klaus and Cami Episode,' Analyzes Her Character's Killer Instinct
Has The Originals entered the era of Cami the Vampire Slayer? Not quite, star Leah Pipes tells TVLine. In fact, despite her character’s newly illuminated penchant for violence, Pipes doesn’t think Cami meant to kill Aurora’s minion in last week’s episode. “I honestly think she was just trying to use that broomstick as a ‘Don’t come any closer’ kind of thing, but then he fell on it and killed himself,” Pipes suggests. “She’s more Annie Hall Vampire Slayer than Buffy.” And while we’re on the subject of violent confrontations, Pipes assures us that even though Klaus made it clear to Aurora that he couldn’t be less interested in rekindling their old flame, his crazy ex is “definitely not done with Cami.” As for why the show has yet to deliver the Klaus/Cami kiss we’ve been teased with for the past two-and-a-half seasons, Pipes believes there’s a method to the build-up. “I think there’s a soulmate element with the two of them, and you don’t take that lightly,” she says. “Sometimes, when you really like a guy, you think that if you ever kiss him, that’ll be it for you. Your life will be over, because you’ll be admitting to everything.” That said, we might not have to wait too much longer, given that Pipes refers to this week’s installment as a “great Klaus and Cami episode. A lot happens. You get to see the side of Klaus we all love to see, that soft side.” And what better time for Klaus’ soft side to emerge than Christmas? “The Mikaelsons do a lot of decorating this week,” Pipes warns says. “Apparently, Klaus really loves Christmas. He goes all out. And with all those decorations, there’s probably some mistletoe somewhere.” tvline.com/2015/12/09/the-originals-klaus-cami-spoilers-christmas-kiss/#more-665665

The Originals boss on what comes after those midseason finale shockers
So, that was emotional. Not only did Elijah have to dagger his sister, but Freya lost her brother, and Klaus might have lost the woman he only recently confessed to loving. Okay, he didn’t say the “L” word, but that kiss said a lot. We caught up with The Originals executive producer Michael Narducci to talk about what comes next after the midseason finale. Here’s what you need to know: Is Cami really dead? Okay, yes, she definitely looked dead. But did she have vampire blood in her system? Did Klaus wake up in enough time to save her? Can she be brought back? This is The Originals, so no death is certain. All Narducci would say was: “We’re all people who love to follow the lives of these fictional characters, and we need to see their successes, we need to see their joys, we need to see their challenges, we need to see their defeats. We need to see how they respond in the midst of utmost despair. We have to believe that there is hope and there is love and there is family and there is the devotion that we have to one another as spirits and human people. That’s the story that we’re telling.” Furthermore, Narducci remembered a Bible verse that Cami once recited at her brother’s grave: “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness will never overcome it.” According to Narducci, “That is a core aspect of who this person is, and it’s something to keep in mind.” On the kiss that led to tragedy. For Klamille shippers, this episode finally offered the confession they’ve been waiting for … though it was quickly followed by tragedy. That order of events wasn’t always the plan, but when the time came, it was the obvious choice. “We’ve talked a lot over the course of the past three seasons about what would be the unique relationship between this 1,000-year-old vampire and this human woman who was serving as his therapist,” Narducci said. “It was a pretty long process, a slow burn. As we talked about where it would lead, and I have to give credit to Julie [Plec], Julie felt very strongly that the tragedy of what we do in this episode would make a fantastic episode for the midseason finale. It just so happened that that horrific moment lined up perfectly with the moment of romantic realization for these two people.” Will Elijah daggering Rebekah really solve the “family” portion of the prophecy? “Well, that’s definitely their intention. They know that the three remaining Mikaelson siblings that are vampires, that have sire lines, they will fall my friend, by foe, and by family. And Rebekah says, ‘I’m a mess. I’m cursed. I’m going to spiral out of control. I will be an enemy to this family. You’ve got to put me down and maybe, maybe if you put me down, that will have eliminated one facet of this prophecy, and that would mean that you don’t have to look at Klaus with suspicion anymore, and maybe the two of you united have a chance to deal with everything else,’” Narducci said, adding, “Now, is that going to play out exactly that way?” Yep, that’s to be determined. Yes, Elijah used a regular dagger (and not that cursed one) on Rebekah. So, as Narducci put it, “Rebekah’s going for a little nap. She will be tucked away and hidden away, but she’s not in pain and she’s safe and we’re going to find a way to cure her and pull that dagger out of her at some point in the future.” However, odds are we won’t see her until this prophecy mess is over and done with. “We could see her back but it would interrupt that logical thought process that I was describing earlier,” he said. “If she came back, then we would have to be wary of our family again, so they may have motive to allow her to be daggered until this prophecy comes to a head.” What’s next for Vincent? From bad guy to good guy to regent, Yusuf Gatewood gets yet another role to play as Vincent, for which Narducci credits the actor’s charisma. Narducci said Vincent is “stepping up and realizing, if he wants to protect his city, he’s going to have to get involved and he’s really becoming a strong force on our show. I think he has good principles and a sound moral judgment, and he believes in the kind of justice that you and I might believe in.” However, that sense of justice doesn’t always have a place in New Orleans. Narducci added, “Of course that may put him at terrible odds with the Mikaelsons, whose beliefs for morality are centered on family above all. So sure, the Mikaelsons are nice as long as you’re not messing with their family, and if you do mess with their family, they’ll wipe out an entire city.” So the question is: Is Vincent friend or foe? And is he part of the prophecy? There’s hope for Finncent (but also, Finn). “The Finncent possibility is definitely the leverage by which Tristan is trying to control Vincent,” Narducci said. “We kind of suggested in episode 8 that Tristan might have an inside hold on Finn, that they might have a good relationship, and we know Finn has not been above standing against his siblings in the past, so that’s the threat. “But there’s also the world where we might be seeing more of Finn just on his own. Freya absolutely wants that pendant back, and she wants access to her brother’s spirit, and I think that that’s a big part of the family dynamic, too — the fact that Freya believes Finn can be redeemed and the rest of the siblings probably do not. That’s an interesting conflict that we’ll want to play with.” www.ew.com/article/2015/12/10/originals-boss-savior-postmortem-cami

The Originals: Julie Plec reveals the incestuous moment they cut from the midseason finaleThe Mikaelson family is extremely complicated, and who better to untangle that drama than Julie Plec? The Originals showrunner will blog each week’s installment throughout the season exclusively for EW. From answering burning questions to giving behind-the-scenes stories and more, this is a place for fans to hear directly from Plec about the episode they just watched. Thanks for watching “Savior,” written by Diane Ademu-John & Carina Adly Mackenzie and directed by The OG’s producer-director Matt Hastings. We’re a big fan of ruining Christmas in the Mikaelson universe. The tradition began in TVD episode 409 when Klaus slaughtered a dozen hybrids to the tune of Cary Brothers covering “O, Holy Night” and ended the episode savagely drowning Mayor Carol Lockwood in the town fountain while “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” played. This episode was no exception, only this time it wasn’t Klaus doing the murdering. Although I have to imagine he’ll be doing plenty more murdering in the New Year now that he’s woken up with a dead girl in his bed. Tune in on Friday, Jan. 29 to see how Aurora’s latest evil move plays out. Ex-girlfriends are rough. Tidbits from set: The Christmas cookies available at Mikaelson Christmas are a nod to Matt Hastings’ family traditions. His mom makes those exact cookies every holiday. We welcomed Claire Holt back to set by drenching her with water and making her lie in a box in the freezing cold at midnight on a Friday. She was a trooper. Rebecca Breeds played her own piano in Aurora’s final scene with Tristan. In this scene (with Rebecca’s parents on set visiting), the actors improvised a sweet brother-sister kiss that was decidedly Flowers in the Attic-inspired, if you catch my drift. Not that I’m against a little incest amongst villains, but this was episode 9 and we already had incest-free scripts written and shot through episode 13, so we had to cut it. The baby cried so much during the “Happy Christmas” scene we almost had to send her to bed and let the grown-ups celebrate Christmas alone. The wine that Klaus pours for Jackson came from a bottle that read “CHATEAU BROMANCE” in elegant script. Our prop guys need to get their kicks in somewhere. Whenever co-writer Carina is upset, her mom tells her, “Well, at least you’re a writer. This will make a great story someday.” She grew up thinking that was ridiculous, until she borrowed most of the dialogue in Hayley and Jackson’s bayou scene from an actual fight she had with an ex. Turning pain into profit. www.ew.com/article/2015/12/10/originals-julie-plec-blog-savior

Now that is a finale! Just when I finally started warming up to her and maybe getting use to the idea of her and Klaus together they go and kill Cami off? I'm thinking she has vampire blood in her system. Klaus won't be too happy about that, but it's better than the alternative. If someone were to die why can't it be Davina. She's the most useless character on the show and she hasn't been missed the past few episodes. Finn was actually looking kinda hot! Death does a body good! I hope he turns things around and actually ends up helping his siblings. That would be a nice twist. Since he loves Freya so much he could do it for her. I like that Vincent took back his power with the witches! But then only fell victim to the wanna be Originals. I totally thought Tristan and Aurora were fixing to start making out. As nice as it was to see Claire back, I'm really getting fed up with her popping in and out all the time. I really wish they would've kept Maisie around and kept Claire in FB. I really grew to love Maisie as Rebekah and actually preferred her. I like Jackson & Hayley together. I think he brings out the best in her and hope they keep him around. As sweet as the scene was to see Klaus have a heart to heart with Kinney, wouldn't it have been easier to get Lucien to undo the compulsion he did to him. You'd think he'd want to stay on Klaus and Cami's good side right now. By undoing this it would've earned him some brownie points. How did Tristan get the necklace? How did Aurora sneak in and slit Cami's throat? Did she compel her to do it herself? Poor Elijah. Having to dagger Rebekah. That was so sad. Loved the episode. Thought it was one of the best of the season.

The Originals - this TV show is the best of all time! There is no other TV show that has so many twists in an episode! And I mean, not just this one, but every single episode in the Originals is full of twists. Great storyline full of surprises that trills, make you shiver and keep you in the story. You won't get so much complexity in the story from no other movie, tv show or a book. Really great show! I love it! In that sense I include and The Vampire Diaries
