THE CURE – As Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) reluctantly participate in their bachelor and bachelorette parties, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) discuss the ramifications from an impulsive offer that Damon makes. Unsure of what to do, Elena turns to Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Jo for advice, but is left conflicted when Bonnie raises some unanticipated concerns. When Enzo (Michael Malarkey) realizes Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) is on a dangerous downward spiral, he asks Stefan (Paul Wesley) to help intervene before it’s too late. Lastly, fed up with the supernatural threats that plague their town, Matt (Zach Roerig) takes his frustrations out on Tyler (Michael Trevino), while Alaric considers a life-changing piece of advice. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Brett Matthews & Rebecca Sonnenshine (#620). Original airdate 4/30/2015.

So I assume the episode title means Damon leaving his "happy home" aka an eternal life with this brother for Elena. But the title is
I'd Leave My Happy Home For You
he WOULD leave.. but will he really do it? Of course not since there is no word of Ian leaving TVD, too. So what might become between his plan to become human with Elena?
It could be the cure that doesn't work in 2015 because it's from 1994. Or Damon sacrifices his relationship with Elena for Stefan's life like Stefan did for him? Naaaa... Damon is only a good brother as long as he keeps the girl. Will someone steal the cure again? Will Damon change his mind last minute because his love for vampire powers is stronger than his love for Elena? Or will he wait and see if Elena will still want him once she is human and when it turns out she doesn't he stays vampire? What else can it be?

Like you said Kiki, there's no way Damon will take the cure and be human in S7. What would he do, join Matt in his anti-vampire quest? Ironic, but unlikely. Another idea: Damon needs to stay a vampire to protect Elena from Lily and her family. Bonnie already foreshadowed this with her comment about what the vamp witches would do to a 'newly human Elena.' Plus...at the end of the day, and probably naively, I believe Damon can't leave Stefan after all these years, esp. if Damon would be leaving him to fight Lily et. al. without him.

Are we thinking that the blood of the Petrova doppelganger is needed to turn on the witchpires's witch side? Because they already drink blood, that is, they are already immortal. Because if it is any old doppelganger they need, Stefan, were he human, could do it. Not that I want them, too. I mean, is it not a big enough problem for human Elena that Klaus could use her blood again to create hybrids? That alone is enough of a threat to send human Tyler on the run, as well as a reason to send human Elena off with Jeremy into witness protection.

I wasn't thinking of doppelgängers, more of the witchpires (lol)wanting to get revenge on Damon by doing something to Elena. But yeah, Klaus works very well, too!! Esp. since he could use some hybrid help on TO at the moment. There's never a shortage of reasons why someone wants to hurt Elena after all. I've wondered if Tyler leaving is tied to Elena's ending and you make a good point about him fleeing Klaus again. Although there's also Liv coming back into the picture, so she may be part of the reason. Lots of good theories to spin before this is over....

The thing I liked was Lily standing up to Damon. Kind of that moment so long ago when Esther called bullcrap on Klaus, Elijah, and Kol: Even, you, Elijah, with your moral, etc.
Elena knows and forgives Damon for his first instincts, which appear selfish. Damon is the king of "then I realized how wrong/stupid that was." Maybe Lily will continue to expect--and enforce--the higher standard that Damon is capable of.
That could be the motivating influence that supports him in letting Elena go.

What happened to psychic Bonnie? She doesn't have predictions, visions, or sleepwalk or anything anymore. Granted she's a "new witch again", but that shouldn't matter. Plus that's when everything was happening.
