The CW has released a description for the January 26th episode of The Originals.
FAMILY IS WHO YOU FIGHT FOR — Armed with more power than ever, Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood) creates an elaborate spell that allows him to take the upper hand and trap his brothers Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Realizing that Kaleb (guest star Daniel Sharman) is also in trouble, Davina (Danielle Campbell) has no choice but to team up with the Originals to help. After the deadly events in the previous episode, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) must try to calm his volatile pack of suffering vampires, while remembering his days as a solider during World War I when his leadership skills were equally brought to the test. Finally, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) finds herself conflicted when she learns that she and Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) must participate in extreme and unconventional rituals prior to their wedding, which will put them both in a dangerous position. Leah Pipes also stars.
Sylvain White directed the episode written by Kyle Arrington & Diane Ademu-John

Another good episode. The Originals is on fire this year! I'm a sucker for flashbacks and liked how they wove together Marcel's time in the war with his entrapment inside the house. I'm becoming interested in the Jackson/Haley SL, how the preparation for the wedding will play out, and whether they'll really get married. Are we in for another triangle with Cami/Elijah/Haley?? I'm dying to know how they'll pull together Rebekah's release, Freya's appearance and Esther's deal with her sister. Also, Klaus was hilarious talking about the animals on the wall and Finn's boar. Dislikes: Finn's plan to discover the secret is becoming tiresome, and it's going to continue next week. Speed it up, one way or another! My big pet peeve: touting psychoanalysis and Freud as the go-to choice for getting help in today's world. This is so outdated!!! Worse? Cami casually 'psychoanalyzing' Elijah, someone she knows personally, when he's having violent spells and while there's a baby in the house. Hello! Sputter, sputter..... I can't believe how careless TV writers are in general with this subject.

I can't believe how careless TV writers are in general with this subject. Agree! I'm liking this direction a lot more especially now that they have Esther and Mikael both on ice! A little of them goes a LONG way!! Finn is rather amusing now even though he doesn't stand a chance against his bros. He starts out on top yes, but look who wins out in the end. He underestimates them every time. That scene with Klaus and the animal chat was funny! You aren't rooting for Hayley and Jackson now are you! He's charming and all, but now I'm starting to get suspicious if his intentions really are pure. His grandma raised a red flag for me! With Hayley having the secrets she has I would've run! She's going to put her baby's life on the line by trusting them. I'm wondering if Klaus will have to compel her to forget Hope? That would certainly put a twist on things! You really think they're going for a Elijah/Cami/Hayley triangle? What about Klaus/Cami that they've always hinted at? Like I've said before it's like fruit basket turnover for some of these characters on these shows! I think it was HOD that I made that comment. I don't think it was very wise of Cami to psychoanalyze Elijah either considering his outbursts. That is kinda of unnerving. Look who's show this is. Should we really be that shocked. I enjoyed all the stuff with Marcel as well. I'm getting tired of Kol and won't miss him when he's gone. I just wonder who's going to kill him? I'm looking forward to more with Rebekah and Freya. You had to rain on my parade with Marcel and Gia! @dman Of course Elijah can have all the girls!!! He's Elijah!!!! I suppose I wouldn't mind Marcel and Gia. I just LOVED that training session Elijah and Gia had! That was But we are talking about Daniel Gillies and he can make anything look hot!!! Even telling Finn off!

I just LOVED that training session Elijah and Gia had! That was But we are talking about Daniel Gillies and he can make anything look hot!!! Even telling Finn off! The problem with Elijah is he has chemistry with practically every woman he meets so you have to start weeding out the least likely options. Right @dman24? So yeah, had to rain on the Gia parade, sorry wednesday. I do like Haley/Jackson with their history, similar goals, looking really good together, etc. Plus the storyline of an arranged marriage that might grow into love appeals as something a little different. So far I haven't seen a reason to mistrust Jackson, although I suspect Klaus will find Haley before she spills the beans. The fact that Hope is alive has to slip out soon though, whether it's Haley or someone else. She's the whole point of the SL with Freya, Esther and her sister, and that plot is starting to heat up. About Cami, I'm just guessing at a triangle because they don't seem to know what to do with her. Right now she's, ugh, psychoanalyzing Elijah. That's probably all it is, Cami trying to help him. At this point it wouldn't even be a triangle because we have the Elijah/Hayley/Jackson triangle so Cami would be a fourth, then you have to add in Klaus for Cami...too much even for this show!

jennifer You're right about that with Elijah!! He has chemistry with strangers off the street! I guess I'll bust out my umbrella since y'all are raining on my parade! Oh well it was a nice dream while it lasted and I can always re-watch that hot training scene! I'm wondering if Freya is going to be good or bad. From the promo next week you really can't tell. I know the actress that plays Cami may be a favorite with writers, but you're absolutely right they don't know what to do with her! As amusing as it was to see her psychoanalyze Elijah to me it was really grasping at straws to give her something to do. Although that was the most I have enjoyed her character. It probably had more to do with Elijah than her! I don't see them adding her into a triangle! If they were going for the 5 what would that be, a pentangle!!

Ooo, you've already thought Freya might be bad so my speculation might not be so far off. (Post on spoiler thread). Yep, that's Elijah, making everyone look better. You enjoy that training scene!
