I love hearing peoples Fanatic stories. This is one of my favorites in the years of reading quite a few. I loved Harry Potter since 2000, when i was 9. I too, came into possession of one of the books, HPATPS. I wasn't really into the whole social thing for years, and I believe it was my Headmaster who had taken over our Year for teaching who gave me it to read. I was hooked instantly. I can remember breaks whilst in school where i would just read it alone at the front of the class whilst everyone was doing their usual break things. I remember telling my parents about it. I couldnt afford a lot, my family weren't flowed with cash, so when the first movie came out, My parents couldn't do anything to buy it for me. But eventually they got it for me. By then i had read some books already. As soon as i saw the movie, i pictured everything in the book the way it was in the movie. That first movie was probably watched too much every week. I was addicted. It became my obsession and the place I'd go when i was down or needed a peaceful moment. I got through the rest of primary school and the whole of high-school with Harry and his friends/adventure. I even inherited my nickname "Potter" with how obsessed i was with it! (Honestly, that is a true nickname for me, somehow the students thought i looked like a female version of him with my glasses and that). From the 2nd movie, i went to the cinema with pocket money as my parents were better off by then. I went to the cinema for it every-time, even had a cheeky 2nd or 3rd screening of a couple of them. I was hooked. I do wish i could go to the Florida park, and I'm even planning on going to the London studios in the next year (It's been a while since i can do things as I'm a wheelchair user and not a lot of cash flow myself in the last few years) I remember when i watched the London Premiere of the Last movie coming out, JK made me cry so much. I thought it was the end for it all, i thought i wouldn't be able to go back to peaceful moments like i used to. But i do, that's the great thing about books/movies isn't really. Just the other night i watched HPATDHP2, Blubbered over Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Snape, the moment where Harry opens the Snitch even when hagrid and even when Hagrid say's "Harry? No!" in the forbidden forest. I get so emotional. I don't know how bad it sounds, But I'm saving around £400 for the London Studios so i can buy a lot of stuff in the Gift Shop, I honestly can't wait! My Other Half is taking me as a Anniversary Present. To be honest, it will be the best present someone can give As anyone else been? Anything anyone suggests when i go?? There's a whole back story to everything like you put but i can't write much more now haha. (Hand problems) Would be lovely to talk to some of you about HP. I'm also on a separate forum for HP too. OhTheNargles is my username just look me up on your forum see if im on there, if i am, then your more than welcome to friend me or message me Okay stop writing now Rachel before you get yourself too exited XD. I totally understand Rachel It was and still is such a beautiful and enchanting story, you can't help but get lost in it. I just finished rereading Deathly Hallows last night, and would you believe I blubbered over the weirdest things but it gets to me so much. Like a movie can't capture an entire book. Which i understand. But i literally finished the book and felt like just flipping back to the beginning and starting it all over again because there was so much that just needs to be read again. A couple scenes that got to me in the book was when Harry enters the forbidden Forest with the intent to die, that scene got to me so much more than the movies. In the books he doesn't tell anyone, not one single person, he doesn't say goodbye as he feared he wouldn't want to leave if he did. Another scene that really got to me, was when Harry sees the Elves fighting with them, and Kreacher the leader. I absolutely loved teh meaning behind that scene, how a good deed can go a long way. Harry in the books is so defined as a character and theres' just so much more depth and I love it. I've forgotten how nice it is to have rounded characters and complex storylines that tie up well. Jk is a mastermind and i don't know how she did it all!

I love it! Thanks for telling your story SalvatoreChick. I usually tell people who are casual fans not to get me started because it's hard to stop talking and explaining and thinking about HP world. You have a great time at London Studios and buy what you want. What's your fandom? I used to be part of HP for Grownups on Yahoo for about 5 years. It got kinda ugly when the last book came out, and I was a mod at the time and grew tired of all the negative stuff, so I slowly drifted away. As I think about it, I don't miss fandom much because now the books feel like mine again (if that makes sense). Enough from me. Talk to you again on this thread!

I've gone back to the start or I've finished the last and picked up the first and read them all over again. I kept doing that every time a book came out. I would read the first loads and then go to the next. I usually did this so i finished just before the new book was released. Oh the elves. I honestly wished they'd made that scene in the movie. I can imagine the painting, tickle the pear XD But a movie can only bring so much to the big screen from a book or we would be sitting through a very lengthy movie (I wouldn't of minded haha) Yep, I think I'm going to go and read them again now, I haven't been able to for a while due to my hands, so my newest edition of my collection as barely been touched yet!

jenniferI know this may sound silly, but when you say Fandom, how do you mean? Sorry I'm not mentally equipped with half these sayings for things haha. I mean the online stuff, whether it's discussion groups or fan fiction or even Pottermore. I like the books & movies and some fun chats with friends or fans on this group more than getting involved with an online group dedicated to HP.

I have been a Pottermore user since it was in beta testing (7 days, 7 questions bit of it) and Im on a few harry potter forums. I have read a few fan made stories of the Potter world but I haven't had a PC in a while so i couldnt do much more reading with my phone. When i was able to read them, i did like what i read. Always been a Nuna Shipper. Always thought Luna and Neville belonged together even though they never got together in the end.

I didn't exactly ship Nuna, but I loved each character individually, and thought it funny when Rowling came out after the books saying Luna married the famous naturalist Rolf Scamander. Neville was right there, botany genius! Although Neville didn't seem inclined to believe in Luna's flights of fancy, so maybe naturalists and botanists had too many differences. I guess he and Hannah are happy together. He deserved happiness after everything he lived through. I wanted to read the new information on Pottermore released before Christmas, but...I'm happy with the books and Rowling's several interviews directly after DH was released. Others want to know more and I don't begrudge that!

Thinking of Luna, When i heard about how the actress had gotten the role, It was so heart warming what Rowling did to help her Just shows how much she helped people, from the hardest things to the simple small things.
