@dman24 yea they are like quotes/poem types. usually about love stuff lol heres one In the midst of distraction and noise, my mind is locked on your memory. I’ll smile, laugh, converse and engage in discussions but all I am thinking about is the next moment I can talk and laugh with you. it’s the hardest when I am alone with my thoughts. My mind runs wild with memories of your embrace, the intensity of the way you look at me that tells me more then what you would ever dare say out loud. or the way your face lights up when you truly smile. I hear your adorable chuckle when you laugh, and smell your scent on my skin. I see the passion in your eyes when you speak about something you have learned and I feel your hands when they reach for my face in the middle of a kiss….I see you. That’s how much you affect me. In the chaos I have created within my heart you are my only clarity. The light house that once was my safe haven feels far from reach and instead I’m walking into the dark house that has welcomed me in.
what is one to do when one has welcomed the darkness with open arms and has decided that they want to extend their stay. When will it be too late to decide to turn back? Or the more important question is do I feel the need to go back at all? and another As the sun sets and the moon rises it is becoming more dangerous being near you. If I look too long into your soul, I feel my heart slowly melting like wax. And little by little my heart will mold into a new shape all together that will forget about the world I live in and reshape itself to a heart that will be willing to leave it all behind for your consuming fire. Poem/Drabble #130 - Danger Zone - 09.29.14 (via midnightsruby)
i take feedback good and bad.=)midnightsruby.tumblr.comthats the website if you want to see more. Very nice Ruby! I checked out your website too... and it's definitely interesting. You certainly have the talent. Plus, it's always interesting hearing things from a woman's perspective. BTW, are those drabbles from personal experience or just a creation?

I rather not say hahhaa it leaves the mystery of it intact. but thanks If I was to actually sit down and organize the words into poetry format they would probably come off better thats why i just call them drabbles =)

This poem I wrote a while back, and it's nice to see that it still has that profound effect on me.
A Glimpse of Perfection
She walks in beauty like the night A precious jewel which radiates its sweet light A sight to behold, a light so bright God, don't blind my rude eyes this night
I gaze upon her lovely face She glances at me, I'm stranded in place A woman so lovely, a lady so fair Whom of this earth can dare compare To this beauty that stole my stare

This was a poetry prompt using the picture to create a poem =) Danger LoveRocks trembling below my body Wind gently hits my face as the tears fall Reminiscing of the memories shared with you. With you, I always felt I was skydiving without a parachute Speeding down a one-way with no brakes Running across a ledge 50 stories high The rush was always amazing My adrenaline was always on high I didn’t care about the risk as long as you was here But now I am alone Numb inside with no one to hold Searching for this feeling only you provided. I’m not sure if I miss you Or the feelings I felt when I was with you I feel the trembling of the rocks I hear the faint sound of a horn As my heart spikes up its rhythm A mixture of fear and adrenaline Courses through my veins And I come alive inside. I see the light that illuminates my darkness And I feel you as if you are here next to me So I close my eyes and I embrace this feeling As I await the impact of your return.

Here is another one =)
Have I really been under a sleeping curse this whole time? Not knowing I was asleep like a dream world you think is your reality. Awaiting the moment my prince charming would come to wake me but it wasn’t a prince Nor was he charming….
He had trouble written all over him. Ready to snatch me up and steal my heart. He did just that with his stolen kiss and his bad boy swag. Allowing my eyes to flutter open to see a world where my happily ever After has been forever ruined.
Poem/Drabble #86 - The strangest thing is I wouldn’t have it any other way- 07.08.14 (1:42am)

William Shakespeare is mainly well-known for his dramatic works, but he's also a tremendous poet in his own right. This is one of my favorite of his. It deals with loving and accepting someone for who they are, and that is a message that resonates in any good relationship.
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun (Sonnet 130)
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress when she walks treads on the ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

Poetry is about personal expression--deep-seated emotions put into words. This poem is deeply personal, but I'm not afraid to show it. Just like an actor has to be fearless to bring truth to a character, poets have to dare to bring their poems to life; regardless of the subject matter. This is about a girl in school that I really loved. I knew her personally and saw her everyday. But I hesitated in asking her out, and by the time I decided to, she left and never came back. So I never saw her again. To this day I think of her, wondering what could have been if I only had the courage. I hope this serves as a lesson to everyone. It might seem that you have all the time in the world to do something, but life has a way of eradicating that theory, and the results are often painful and sad. I hope someone can learn from this.
A poem for a lost love
My heart is in pain With each thought of you Memories fall like rain Of a time we knew
Many and many years before When time stood still Only you my heart did adore To where my soul grew ill
O how beautiful you were How black was your hair How green your eyes I remember How distant your stare
My soul longed for you With each breath I took Boring days seemed new With each glancing look
Then one day you left suddenly And never came back Left with the memories only My world turned gloomy and black
Where are you Ginger? Where could you be? Nothing will ever be as it were Until you come back to me

You shared a personal experience, one unique to you, yet the pain and suffering of unrealized love is something most of us relate to. Poetry is a way to connect to others when one person's words evoke similar feelings in others. I hope your words do help someone else!

I actually write drabbles on tumblr if anyone is every interested in reading them midnightruby is the name Sent from my SM-G900T using pro boards I liked your drabbles Ruby! Your tumblr site is cool looking, and your drabbles do start to read like poetry after reading several in a row. It looks like a good way to get yourself writing. I've been writing drabbles and didn't realize it. I keep a notebook in my purse and write thoughts as they pop up or bits of poetry or good horoscopes/fortune cookies. I always hope they'll turn into a poem or story, but you've made me realize maybe they're enough as is.

I love this poem by Robert Frost. It's called "Fire and Ice" and I guess it's a fairly popular poem cause Bella was reading it during the opening scene in Twilight Saga:Eclipse. That was the first time I heard it, and I always wondered where it came from. Now I know. Really great poem!
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

I love this poem @dman24 and almost posted it here this week. When you posted the Frost poem you know by heart, I was thinking that Fire and Ice is probably the only poem I know by heart. It's a powerful poem both in meaning and rhythm. What struck me about the poem is I would've chosen the other way around, that hatred is the most destructive power but unchecked passion can also do the job.

Barton Springs is a natural spring-fed pool right in the middle of Austin. It's a beautiful location, my go-to place when I need a break. Here's poem I wrote about it one Summer: SurfacingUnderwater everything moves easily Gliding, weightless Sounds muffled by the murky water Imagine swimming with the fish Darting around below Deep down, through currents and tangled plants Until my breath is full... Bubbles burst from my lips! Lighting up like tiny crystal balls Reminding me that unlike fish My world is made of air My lungs are bursting My legs churning Surfacing at last, leaving my watery kingdom behind. Here's a link to give you and idea of how immense and beautiful the pool is: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barton_Springs_Pool

Dreams are what make life enjoyable. Hope in fulfilling them, and the excitement and gratification when you do. But without dreams, life loses a lot of its meaning, and a light that once shined brightly becomes dimmed, never to return. Langston Hughes pretty much sums that up is his great poem "Dreams."
Dreams
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
