I really liked this episode. I had a hard time watching the show this season because there was way too much family drama and violence going on. I'm actually grateful that Rebekah won't be causing any trouble in New Orleans anytime soon. Klaus handing Hope over to her to protect, because she's the most trustworthy where the baby is concerned, was a great way to end the season. I loved the name that they gave the baby: Hope. That is a great name, and it proves definitively that Elijah wasn't alone in wanting Klaus to be redeemable. Klaus wanted the same thing, and he probably didn't realize it until he became a father. Sure he'll have the occasional relapse, as Julie Plec has told us, but the series is about Klaus' redemption.
I didn't expect Hayley to become a hybrid. I didn't think Elijah really had the right to blame Klaus for her dying, and the way he yelled at Klaus after the way Elijah behaved with the woman carrying Klaus' child was unacceptable. Elijah was grieving and claimed to be in love with someone he doesn't really know. He's a little pathetic. He has a habit of "letting in" women that he's probably too good for, really. Klaus patted Elijah's hand like he was dealing with a child having a tantrum, and I thought that was funny. Then Hayley came back again and it looked like Klaus was unhappy because he wants to have a family without Hayley. In the end, I don't think Klaus wanted to kill Hayley as soon as the baby was born, but he doesn't want her stealing his family or hurting Elijah either. I loved that it turned out to be Elijah who used the baby's blood to sire a hybrid, and Klaus looked away in disgust when it happened. That ends that issue.
I don't think Davina knows what she wants from Mikael. She knew she wanted to punish Klaus, but she isn't evil enough to help someone murder his own son along with a baby. Davina might end up punishing Mikael more than Klaus, and Marcel will be forced to put himself in danger running interference. I think Davina's plans backfire because even though she gets angry enough to hurt someone, deep down she doesn't really want to cause a lot of pain. She just wants to be heard.
