What if Marcus is a doppelganger too?

I am confused. JP swore up and down nothing supernatural caused the car accident. I still think Damon had something to do with it. The weather was fine. It was not slippery. My theory is, Grayson had to swerve the car in order to avoid hitting something or someone.
I love it deb. Paul plays another doppelganger.

What if it was Marcus that caused the accident, because he wanted Stefan to save Elena, because for some reason, he wants the doppelgangers to get together? But, if Marcus is supernatural, the gilbert ring would have saved Elena's father, right?

Omg I so would not be into a stefen doppelganger killing Elena's parents the things I would read on my dashboard aaah. Sent from my MB886 using proboards

In the books there were guardians - some kind of people who watch of everything supernatural in the world- Elena was a guardian, too but was raised by humans. Her parents made a deal that they will raise her but give her back to the guardians at a special age. When Elena reached this age her parents refused to give her away because they loved her so much so the guardians came to get her. They were following the car and Elena's dad got distracted which caused the accident. So the distraction was caused by something supernatural but the accident was just a normal caraccident no magic involved. The ring wouldn't save him, would it?

But, if Marcus is supernatural, the gilbert ring would have saved Elena's father, right? Stefan was in the woods when the accident happened. So if the accident did not happen then Stefan would never have met Elena or even saved her. He would have just gone on his way and left MF. Interesting. You might be right deb. This Marcus guy needed the doppelgangers to get together. But why?
I never read all the books Kiki. Elena might be a guardian and a doppelganger. Is that possible?

stelena4ever I don't think they will bring the guardians into the show, too. I think they replaced the guardians from the books with travellers. Since Silas and Amara were travellers, too I think Elena could be one, too. And maybe even Stefan? Katherine was a traveller all her life but didn't know about it or didn't know how to be one. So maybe all doppelgängers are travellers. This way rules could be different for human Matt and doppelgänger Elena. Maybe the whole bodyswap is different from Gregor and Matt's bodyswap?

Wasn't there a spoiler long ago about Caroline finding a new loveinterest? Carenzo? Enzoline?
Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) spend an awkward afternoon at Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) parent-teacher conference
Awkward because of their "new agreement on their relationship" in ep. 16?? Maybe Elena will not look past Damon's cruelties this time. She might change her mind during ep. 16. Her "I cannot stop loving you" came before she was "very sick" and Stefan fit her in to the latest developments. And since Elena has to keep the impression of a good legal guardian at school she needs Damon to play the parent role with her since Stefan is Sloan's captive and therefore not available
