Yeh it airs on Saturday... The acting needs to be a little better. But I think that will work out on its own once we get into things more. The acting doesn't seem too bad to me, except maybe Clay (?). Might be spotty in a scene here or there but it's overall decent to serviceable for everyone else. After having watched the second episode, Clay (?), the one that Elena is avoiding has a huge creep factor going on for me. I mean, seriously. Everyone else has been fine or leaves a much better impression but that seems to be his only mode in this episode. There's a reason for that. But I won't spoil it So stick in for the ride.

I imagine so but he's so cringe worthy in his execution. The girl didn't want to come back because of him and he's making a strong case for why without even showing the root cause. It's actually amazing to see play out. "I don't know the exact reason for why this girl is avoiding you buddy but I've been here a day and can happily tell you to f off." Would it happen to deal with his Wolf side or no? I'll probably make that thread in a bit. Gonna go watch the first episode of Black Sails now to see how I like it. I loved Starz's Spartacus so I'm willing to give their take on a pirate show a chance. Plus, it has Secret Circle's Jessica Parker Kennedy who was 1 of the only 3 characters I could stand on the show (although it was minimal which is a shame when majority of the screen time it's hogged by horrid actors like Robertson and Dekker).

Ughh I know, about him backing off. He's very possessive. But I won't say anything about the plot because this is an adaption...who knows how much of it will stick to the books. Like TVD Books and TVD show...two completely different stories and characters.

Like TVD Books and TVD show...two completely different stories and characters. I'm used to reading about Werewolves, specifically the Wolf portion, being 'possessive'. That's how they are in the Mercy Thompson books when it comes to mates. They'll declare someone of interest as 'Mine' if they think someone else is pursuing the same interest and it kind of seeps into the human personality. Leads to confrontations obviously (when you throw in the whole Alpha/Beta, Submissive/Dominant traits into the mix as well). But MT goes the length of telling you that the Wolf can operate on it's/can act as a separate entity (one of Mercy's childhood friends/old lovers tries to commit suicide but the Wolf 'subdues' his consciousness and takes control to keep him from doing so cause the Wolf side wants to live). Not sure what other series have gone into that route in making the Wolf half another entity in that manner but it's one of the reasons I've enjoyed that particular take on them. However, Bitten is only 2 episodes in and hasn't given that much detail on the whole Wolf aspect so as far as I'm concerned, Clay being as creep-tastic as he is 100% his human side I think that's part of why I'm enjoying Bitten so much is cause of the order to the lifestyle which is similar to the MT universe. I'm probably going to wait on getting into the books. As you mentioned, it's an adaptation/based on take but I still want everything to be 'fresh'. I'll probably get Book 1 after S1 is done.

Anna how are the books? and how many are there. Might definitely pick those up I think there are 13 books....but not all the books are about the same characters. Its a series called; Women of the Otherworld. And each book has different narrators (i.e the first two books are Elena's, I think the third book is about a character introduced in the second book.) The first book seems to correlate with the show. But I'm not sure if they'll play out the other books. Maybe they'll break away from the novels there. I absolutely loved the first book, plot wise, however I wasn't the biggest fan of the actual writing. And i'm not very fond of the second book as it is. I'm trying to get through it, because I need just one moment (which im hoping to get by the end. Only 1/3 of the book left.). I might read the rest of Elena's books but I dont think I'll read the rest of the series. But like, yeh don't go on my word. You might like the other books. I'm just not a fan of the plot in the second book.

I'm pretty sure all will be explained in the next few eps as to why Clay is the way he is. We've had a small flashback already there will definitely be more I expect so and I hope it's a reasonable explanation. I really do hate that I love the 'family' dynamic that Elena has with everyone else but outright am creeped out/disgusted by how Clay is acting in comparison to the rest. He's just this glaring issue at this point in what looks like an otherwise great 'family'. I imagine it was a huge mess up too outside of Elena's own stance on what the pack has to do to keep their secret. On another show, I checked out Black Sails a few days ago and thought it was pretty good. It's supposed to be a more 'realistic' look at pirate life compared to something more obvious/popular such as 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Running a ship and keeping the crew content (are you as a Captain finding enough worthwhile jobs to cash in on and hand out a decent pay in the end), having to avoid the Royal Navy (?), etc.. I liked how the episode kicked off with a ship boarding and not killing everyone but also seeing what skills someone had that could of use to their own ship. I like that 'realistic/more serious' take to the theme but it seems to be just as well sprinkled with some humor to keep the mood at times. I expect the usual amount of lying/scheming to be going on though like what was present in Spartacus and also in Game of Thrones. The Captain has shown as much in this past episode. So I recommend it to anyone if you have a remote interest in pirates or just want to see an era/theme that doesn't seem tackled too much.

Well, finally got around to picking my books up, or at least 2 of the 3 I had my eyes set on -_- Went to Books-a-Million and they had Frost Burned but not River Marked and I was kind of weary of walking out of the store with the former because River Marked is the next in the series (Frost Burned released this week in paperback which was wait I was waiting for to make one run) and it would have left me with a purchased book I couldn't read not knowing what happened in the book prior. Bought it anyways and headed to Barnes & Noble later and they still didn't have the 3rd one I was looking for but had River Marked (only 2 copies and I'm OCD about the condition of the books upon purchase so one of them was good enough for me; yes I'm weird): Still missing: Fair Game I figured I could pass on for the time being since it didn't interfere with the other 2 but I wanted to get all caught up with everything that was currently released in paperback for the 2 series/universe =\ I'll try again later in the year cause the next Mercy Thompson book (Night Broken) comes out in March so if I recall, 6 months, paperback should release (?) and the author is also doing an anthology collection as well for all the short stories she's done in the universe so I'll grab that, NB and search again for Fair Game. Was actually looking for a replacement third book but decided against it. I saw 'Bitten' on display and was going to grab it but I kind of like going in blind with the show. Read the back and saw some things that seemed change from what was already shown in the show (mentions her boyfriend is an architect in the book but I think Phillip does pitches in the show for products). So I'm leaving that alone for now. Was looking for the next Nightshade book as well but those crooks didn't have it They had 'Rise' but I was looking for Book #2. Vampire Academy slipped my mind oddly so I could have grabbed the last book for that =\ Was going to see about getting the 2nd Hollows book by Kim Harrison but I have no idea the order of the series off the top of my head and didn't see them ordered out in the back of one of the books so that got cut short. Was eying the Kara Gillian series by Diana Rowland but I didn't see the first book so...idea passed I love buying physical but it's really disappointing to not find what you're looking for. Might just go ahead and put an order in through Amazon. Mom once again brought up E-Readers and once again, I shot the idea down.

I'll probably do that this weekend. Might get a second book but will have to narrow that down. Not sure if I want to finish off a series, catch up or start a new one =/ Gonna go read a sample chapter of Kara Gillian which is supposed to be a cop + demon hunter/summoner thing. I'm really trying to avoid outright Vampire stuff.
And when the alien invaders come to force e-readers on all of mankind, I will join the rebellion and fight back against our oppressors with 300-400+ page books.

I am reading vamp academy and the fifth book in the lost hero series Sent from my MB886 using proboards Seeing the previews a bit more now on TV for Vampire Academy, the actress they got for Rose doesn't strike me as, well, Rose. I think her voice is a bit too high compared to the voice I had in my head for the character.
