SPOILER
PREVIOUSLY ON... | Three Bluebell faves -- Zoe, Wade and George, all newly single -- set out to find themselves over the summer, with two of them even leaving town. Meanwhile, Lemon vowed to let love back into her life and Lavon and Annabeth went public with their romance.
COMING UP NEXT | Season 3 picks up five months after the finale and finds "no one where we expect them to be -- both physically and emotionally," showrunner Leila Gerstein reveals. Zoe, for her part, had "a wonderful summer" in New York, while George -- whose on/off love connection with the darling doc "has run its course for the foreseeable future" -- used his time away to "realize that he let Tansy go too fast and should have fought for her," the EP shares. And next we see Wade, he'll still be plugging away at the Rammer Jammer alongside Lemon, who is enjoying "a mysterious secret relationship with someone." (This handsome gent, perhaps?) As for Annabeth and Lavon, "We love them!" Gerstein gushes. "We're putting that relationship front and center." (But expect Lavon's cousin to create tension for the twosome.)
TVLINE BONUS SPOILER | "We're growing our world" even more in Season 3, Gerstein teases. "We'll meet Brick's mother, [Zoe's father] Harley Wilkes' family and also Annabeth's parents for the first time." Don't get too excited, though: Zoe doesn't have any siblings running around town. "Harley doesn't have other kids," the EP assures; the new faces are "just Zoe's cousins."
RETURN DATE | Monday, Oct. 7 at 8/7c (The CW)

CASTING SCOOP:
'Hart of Dixie' Season 3: Kaitlyn Black's Annabeth promoted to series regular “I’m overjoyed to be joining such a talented cast and extremely grateful to be part of the CW family,” the actress tells TVLine of her status bump.
Black has recurred on the CW charmer since early Season 1.
As Dixie creator Leila Gerstein explains it, promoting Black for the upcoming run was a no-brainer. “Kaitlyn started off with one line, and we fell in love with her,” the showrunner gushes. “Her part has grown and grown as the writing staff has become more enraptured with Annabeth (and Kaitlyn). And, at this point, she has become so integral to the series — as Lemon’s best friend, as Lavon’s girlfriend, and as Zoe’s confidante — that we needed to make sure she was all ours!”
Chuck Alum to Woo the Ladies of Hart of Dixie
"Chuck" alum Ryan McPartlin is going to charm the women of Bluebell on an upcoming episode of Hart of Dixie.
McPartlin will play the very handsome Carter Covington, a chivalrous and extremely charming Southern gentleman who is one the most eligible bachelors in the South — and every Southern Belle's dream husband. So who will fall for him first?
The role will reunite McPartlin, who is best known for playing Captain Awesome on NBC's Chuck, with Hart of Dixie star Rachel Bilson, who guest-starred on Chuck.
Hart of Dixie returns on Monday, Oct. 7 at 8/7c.

CASTING SCOOP:
'Hart of Dixie' casts 'Paranormal Activity's' Lauren Bittner - What is her connection to Zoe?We've met Zoe's parents who raised her, and though her biological father died before she ever met him, we're finally getting a look at his side of the family.
"Hart of Dixie" just cast Zoe Hart's cousin, and she's coming to Bluebell.
Actress Lauren Bittner has joined The CW's southern charmer, TVLine reports. She will play a recurring role in Season 3 as Vivian, a relative of Zoe's late doctor dad Harley Wilkes.
No word yet on how Vivian will get along with newfound cousin Zoe -- or if she will side with the rest of Bluebell and hate Zoe's guts, as she starts off Season 3 in pretty bad standing with the town she abandoned in the Season 2 finale.
Bittner is best known for her role in "Paranormal Activity 3." 'Hart of Dixie' casts 'One Tree Hill' star Robert Buckley as possible love interest for Lemon As if there weren't enough hot guys in Bluebell already, one more is heading into town: Robert Buckley has just been cast in an upcoming episode of "Hart of Dixie."
And since hot guys don't stay single for long in The CW's southern charmer, the "One Tree Hill" alum is set to woo one of Bluebell's most popular ladies -- Lemon Breeland (Jaime King).
So how does Buckley's character meet our favorite Bluebell Belle? He will play Peter, a sweet, ordinary guy who is just passing through town, and he has a chance encounter with Lemon ... which has the potential to build into something more. That's good news for Lemon, as she hasn't had the best of luck in the romance department as of late. Unfortunately, right now Buckley is only scheduled for one episode. But maybe he'll stick around longer depending on how things pan out with Lemon.

SPOILER:
Question: Please tell me that you have something about Zoe and Wade’s future in Season 3 of Hart of Dixie? Will they be back together at some point? – Lindsey
Ausiello: I’m sure they’ll get back together at some point. But for now, my hunch is Zoe will have her hands full (not literally because that would be dirty) with Josh Cooke’s new Joel character, whom Dixie creator Leila Gerstein says will be around “for a major arc.” Gerstein doesn’t outright confirm that Joel is coming in as a love interest for ex-Manhattanite Zoe, but her description of him as a “New Yorker moving to Bluebell” paints a pretty conclusive picture, no?
Boo! I'm a huge Zoe/Wade fan & want them together, but if this is what they're going with for now PLEASE give Wade a new love interest! I do not want to see them have Wade pine after her for half the season while she's out living it up with someone else! He deserves better than that!

SPOILER:
Anything on Zoe and Wade? –Jill
It would seem that the arrival of Josh Cooke’s character, who like Zoe is a NYC transplant, will shake up the canvas – meaning perhaps a bit less Zade action. “With Joel in town… the five original regulars aren’t working together a whole heck of a lot,” Scott Porter shared with us last week. “George is a kind of a satellite around everyone else’s storyline, and so is Wade. We haven’t as much together this season as I would like, but I’m sure it’s all coming.”
