SPOILER:
Question: What is the Wicked Witch’s problem with Regina on Once Upon a Time? Is it a personal vengeance or something else? —Ana
Ausiello: The fourth episode back, “It’s Not Easy Being Green,” will shed light on the origin of Rebecca Mader’s character — possibly including her beef with the Evil Queen. “She’s got a whole backstory and mythology,” says series cocreator Adam Horowitz. “We used the original [L. Frank Baum] book as a jumping-off point, and then spun her in a hopefully unique, Once Upon a Time way.” But rest assured that when Wicked meets and/or reunites with Evil, “There are sparks that fly,” Horowitz warns.

SPOILERS:
Could you please get some scoop on what’s coming up for “Captain Swan” in Once Upon a Time Season 3B? –Kim
As already hinted, Hook will have a tough time getting back in Emma’s good graces, especially given how their first NYC “reunion” went. “She will be very wary” of this stranger, cocreator Eddy Kitsis previews. “I mean, if someone knocked on your door wearing leather and guyliner and tried to kiss you…? He’s lucky he didn’t get a baseball bat to the head!” Adds Adam Horowitz: “Emma’s a tough cookie when she has her memories. So without them, it’s not going to an easy road for him.”
This Once Upon a Time hiatus feels like forever! Got any scoop to help make the remaining month-plus wait more bearable? –Stefanie
If you’re in your mid-30s to early 40s and look like a young Richard Schiff, call your agent now. A flashback in Episode 18 — the same hour that brings back Rose McGowan’s Young Cora, hmm — will introduce us to Prince Leopold aka the man who will one day be Snow White’s father. The younger Leo is described as grounded, humble and not afraid to open his heart, coveting more from marriage than just a political arrangement. Interestingly, I hear that Rena Sofer will not reprise her role as Eva for this episode.

Already, I scooped for you that the OTLs “soul mates” will finally come face to face in the second episode back, airing March 16. But here’s a little something new, from cocreator Eddy Kitsis: “They meet under interesting circumstances – heightened, intense circumstances — as one does on our show.”

CASTING NEWS:Once Upon a Time Exclusive: Glinda Has Been Cast — Look Who Scored the Oz-some Role Two months after Once Upon a Time announced that Lost alum Rebecca Mader would be “going green” to play a version of the Wizard of Oz Wicked Witch, TVLine can exclusively confirm that actress Sunny Mabrey is joining the ABC drama as Glinda the Good Witch.
As we previously reported, Mabrey’s Glinda has been described as elegant, warm and benevolent, as well as wise, clever and shrewd. However, years of isolation have made her lonely and cautious — though at her core, she is a steadfastly filled with optimism.
Mabrey, whose biggest TV credits include recurring stints on TNT’s Memphis Beat and Lifetime’s The Client List, will debut this spring.
Once Upon a Time resumes Season 3 on Sunday, March 9.

DESCRIPTION "NEW YORK CITY SERENADE" 3X12
WITH HER FAIRY TALE FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN DIRE STRAITS, HOOK ATTEMPTS TO HELP EMMA REGAIN HER MEMORIES SO SHE CAN ONCE AGAIN HELP THEM OUT OF A DESPERATE SITUATION, ON THE MIDSEASON RETURN OF ABC’S “ONCE UPON A TIME”
Rebecca Mader Guest Stars as the Wicked Witch of the West
“New York City Serenade” – After Rumplestiltskin sacrificed his life to stop Pan from enacting another curse, Regina obliterated her original curse, which erased Storybrooke from existence and whisked its residents back to Fairy Tale Land – leaving Emma and Henry back in our world with no memories of Storybrooke. But all is not well back in the Enchanted Forest when Hook comes calling on Emma in New York City in an attempt to jog her memory so that she can once again help her fairy tale family and friends out of a desperate situation, on the midseason return of “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, MARCH 9 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET)
PHOTOStvline.com/2014/02/18/once-upon-a-time-season-3-spoilers-emma-hook-new-york/#!1/jennifer-morrison-colinodonoghue/ SPOILERS:
1 | Emma and Henry have made a very nice life for themselves in NYC, complete with a snazzy new wardrobe for the bail bondswoman. Also, Chris Gorham’s (Covert Affairs) character is a very big part of their world.
2 | Hook is relentless in his quest to make Emma believe the fantastical truth, and he’s got a couple of tricks up his leather sleeve to help him convince her of her origins. There’s also much comedy to be found in his (mis)adventures in the city.
3 | Flashbacks to one year ago reveal how the denizens of Storybrooke landed in a very convenient place once back in the Enchanted Forest, where they ran into multiple familiar faces — some of whom withhold a huge secret.
4 | Everyone will stick together in their travels in the Enchanted Forest — except for one character who forges out on his/her own.
5 | Someone gets locked up.
6 | Regina takes drastic measures to deal with the pain of missing Henry — while Snow White tries to play wingman for her frenemy.
7 | This line will make you LOL: “He smells of forest.”
8 | Belle has a plan….
9 | Multiple pieces of Once Upon a Time iconography make a triumphant return.
10 | There will be “monkey” business. And suffice to say, these winged primates have more (and scarier) “teeth” to ‘em than Margaret Hamilton’s ever did.
Question: I see your colleague Matt Mitovich visited the Once Upon a Time set. Did he get anything on Neal? —Viviane
Ausiello: He most certainly did. The good news is that Neal is resolved to reunite with Emma, some way, somehow. The bad news is that his Oncebaby momma’s parents don’t immediately agree with his agenda, since they know that Emma is now living in NYC, partially oblivious yet unarguably happy with son Henry. As Josh Dallas explained to MM on the set, “When we get back to fairytale land, Neal is determined to go find Emma, but Charming and Snow just want their daughter to be happy. So they try to say, ‘Look, this is where we live now. This is what we have and that [other realm] is where she and Henry are. We have to let them go.’” But will Neal listen?
Question: In Episode 2.05 of Once Upon A Time, “The Doctor,” there is a scene with young Regina, Rumple and Jefferson at his castle. When Rumple mentions something about the “ruby slippers,” the camera focuses on Regina’s face and she appears nervous and drops something on the table, indicating that the mention of the ruby slippers had some effect on her. Was that on purpose? Is Regina somehow connected to OZ or the footwear in question? —Ana
Ausiello: First off, the slippers you refer to “probably won’t be ruby,” exec producer Eddie Kitsis reveals. Adds fellow EP Adam Horowitz: “The ruby slippers may have been a false road because, in the books, they were silver slippers.” And Once will be “sticking to the book for legal reasons,” confirms Kitsis. Now, back to your actual question regarding Regina’s connection to OZ, I have no clue. But at least I cleared up the ruby confusion! That’s gotta be worth something!

Once Upon a Time' Season 3 spoilers: 5 things to know about 'New York City Serenade'
The bad news: "Once Upon a Time" Season 3 won't return until Sunday, March 9. The good news: Zap2it has seen the midseason premiere, and has 5 spoilers from the return episode, "New York City Serenade," to keep you entertained until then.
1. In the first 15 minutes of the episode, the following things occur: A picnic, note-passing, purple smoke, mention of Pompeii, and two offers that Emma doesn't really know how to refuse.
2. Home life for the Swans includes video games, eggs and plaid pants that are not our favorite fashion choice.
3. This amazing Captain Hook line is voiced: "They force-fed me something called bologna."
4. If you are ever in New York City, do not consume inexplicable substances handed to you by strange men. Or actually, don't ever do that.
5. It's possible to hijack magic spells. Possible side effects of this include a propensity to quote Goldilocks out of context.
Interesting!

SPOILERS:
At the end of Once Upon a Time’s midseason finale, why did Emma end up in New York City, Neal’s recent home, rather than Boston, her most recent place of residence outside of Storybrooke? –R.T.
Hook poses that exact question in the March 9 midseason premiere – and Emma does have an explanation.
Can you give us a hint as to what Belle’s “plan” might be on Once Upon a Time? –Intarr
Belle’s plan to get the definitive 411 on Rumple is sparked by something she has come to realize about her man’s epic clash with Pan.

SPOILER:
It'd be wonderful if you could get us a first look of Regina and Robin on Once Upon a Time. We don't have any pictures of both of them. You could ask the big boss. — MirzaOliveira
I'm told that no such art exists, but that doesn't mean they don't have any scenes together. "[We're] going to see them meet very shortly -- in fact, in the next episode," executive producer Adam Horowitz teases. "Whether true love happens or not, it's going to be hopefully a very interesting road that they travel together." He means that literally, in case you were wondering. Also, just wait until Regina sees his tattoo.

SPOILERS:
You gave a lot of good stuff for Once Upon a Time premiere! Any chance you can tease something beyond New York City? Rapunzel? Blackbeard? Glinda? – Jacquelyn
I choose Door No. 2, Rapunzel. Josh Dallas touted that episode as “awesome,” “dark” and “very psychological, an episode where you have Charming facing a lot of his ultimate fears. He’s going to have to really look at himself, when confronted with something that challenges his strength and courage.” As for the well-tressed lass, Dallas promises, “She is, like all of our women, very strong.”
Can I please, please, please get some Once upon a Time info on Belle, and Rumple? Possibly Neal, too? –Karen
I’ve already told you about Belle’s plan, and while Rumple’s fate isn’t explored much in the midseason premiere, watch for Episode 13 to dive deeper into that mystery. As for Neal, he is not taking his latest separation from Emma and Henry well, at all. As cocreator Eddy Kitsis explained, “In a lot of ways Neal finds himself in a similar position that his father did, which is: I’m stuck in a land and I need to get back to the people I love.’” But while “Rumple was willing to curse everybody to get what he wanted,” Kitsis reminds, “Neal has, up until this point, kind of been a really moral center for his dad… So the question is, ‘Will he follow the same path?’”

Once Upon a Time Scoop: 15 Enchanted Answers to Your Wicked Midseason Questions! tssquasha: I'm shipping the pirate with Emma, is there hope? I always ship the less probable ones yeah I'm hopelessWe're sorry, but we can't stop giggling after reading this question. Of course, there's hope for Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and "the pirate." Have you seen their chemistry? It's undeniable and electric in the midseason premiere. Chelseasunrise: Will Henry play a larger role in magic and become a hero himself? As of right now, all of the newbie magical abilities are still resting on Emma's shoulders. Lana Parilla explained to us that Emma and Regina make quite the magic-wielding team: "Ultimately when there's a bigger problem, like the wicked witch, these two women can put their own personal feelings aside for one another and just learn how to work together." RumbelleIsHope: Any Rumbelle good news?Just remember: Even after death, true love always wins. Always. Eddrikstorm: Hii!! I'm just curious as to how big of a role Aurora is going to be in the rest of the season/beyond?? Let's put it this way: You'll see the sleeping beauty in the very first scene of Sunday's episode. Although she's glowing with new pregnancy excitement, those good vibes quickly turn dark when we learn that she and Prince Phillip (Julian Morris) are keeping a dangerous secret from the others. LisaStevens_AER: Do both Neal & Hook talk to the Charmings about going back for Emma & Henry ? Does Neal ever encounter Zelena ?Upon first being dumped in the Enchanted Forest, both men are clearly heartbroken that Emma was left behind with a wiped memory. Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) chooses to sulk and deal with his unhappiness solo, while Neal (Michael Raymond-James) refuses to accept that the mother of his child is really gone. Tempt not a desperate man… Twist_And_Shoot: Can you tell me more about Rumple's fate?We sure can! This Sunday's episode will briefly mention Rumple (Robert Carlyle), but in episode 13 the Dark One's fate will be heavily explored. Lesson of the day: You should never underestimate the tricks that are always up Rumpelstiltskin's sleeves. PiriniP: Belle will return to the Dark Castle? We'll see some interaction between Belle and Robin Hood?Get ready to witness a super-sweet reunion! In Sunday's episode, Belle (Emilie De Ravin) and Robin (Sean Maguire) share a warm embrace after our favorite hooded vigilante (Sorry, Arrow!) saves the Evil Queen from an encounter with an iconic creature. (Side-note: Regina insults Robin by saying he "smells like forest." Ha!) As for Belle's return to the Dark Castle? Stay tuned… Aileencharisse Anything about Regina... Really bothered by this outlaw queen thingy...Regina is in a dark and desperate place when we first see her in the midseason premiere. Being separated from Henry and knowing that he has no memory of her is a heartache the she physically cannot bear. "I can't be happy without him," she says. In a sweet twist, fans will see our Evil Queen share multiple heartfelt scenes with her always-optimistic step-daughter, Snow. Alscales: Can you please ask how Emma feels about her parents having another baby? Also curious what this Henry knows about Neal?Emma will be a little astounded when she first sees her mama's royal baby bump, but you would be too, given the circumstances. As for memory-enchanted Henry? All he knows about Neal is that his father abandoned Emma to take the fall for him and she ended up in jail. In their little made-up world, Neal doesn't even know that Henry exists because Emma never told him. DannyPKC: We know we're meeting the Wicked Witch...will we also be meeting Dorothy? We'll let Eddy Kitsis answer that question for you: "We will definitely see some iconic friends from Oz and their relationships are actually going to be explored in a couple episodes." However, we can tell you that you will definitely be taking a trip down the yellow brick road and we'll see the Emerald City, Glinda's (Sunny Mabrey) gorgeous palace and one of the Wizard's most deceptive rooms. Radames125470: Can you also ask about the Charming/Hook bromance and maybe Hook/Henry as well. Would love to see more of both, thanks.Kitsis and Horowitz have heard your prayers and you will definitely be seeing more bromance scenes this season, especially between Hook and Henry. "They are quite a team together, those two," Kitsis shared. "I think we'll definitely see more of Hook interacting with Henry." Just a heads up, there are some pretty chuckle-worthy exchanges between the two in this Sunday's hour. Efisotiropoulou: Even if Henry does get his memories back, what would Regina and Henry's relationship be like after all of this?Unfortunately, we won't see Henry get his memory back for quite some time and this absolutely crushes Regina. Parilla revealed, "She has a lot of sleepless nights, and there's a lot of tears that come with that. She's heartbroken, she's really heartbroken, but she's very respectful when it comes to seeing Henry and not pushing it to get him to remember who she is." However, Parilla told us there is one teeny tiny upside to this curse: "He won't remember all the bad things about her." HariniAcharya2: Anything about Hook and Emma!!What would you say if we told you that Emma threatens to punch Hook in the face within the first two minutes of the episode? Are you smiling? Because we sure were! Our "dashing rapscallion" will spend the majority of the premiere trying to convince Emma to believe him. He even tells her to "use her superpower" to tell if he's lying. Tutusunshine: Please ask if they can tell us anything about Belle's storyline. Maybe something about Belle & Lumiere? Our beautiful book lover is going to be embracing her adventurous side this season. Kitsis revealed, "This year you're going to start to see her come into her own by using her brain. She's going to be a hero who's going to reach for a book or use her intelligence more than a sword. "In addition," Hororwitz added, "We're going to be seeing some more iconography from the Belle story, in the form of Lumiere, the candle, who is going to be showing up soon." We hear that Lumiere has a very bright personality. (Ugh, sorry. That was lame.) Once Upon a Time's midseason premiere airs this Sunday at 8 p.m. on ABC. Plus, get caught up on all the magical mayhem with a one-hour special, narrated by Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens at 7 p.m.
