From looking in the back of the book, it's the 'Blood of Eden' series. Immortal Ones is the first book, the second is Eternity Cure. Might look into her other series, The Iron Fey now just from the first impression of this book.
Now I'm kind of interested in digging up something 'futuristic', not dystopian, with Vampires/other Supes out and running things.

Interested to see CW take a stab at a sci-fi show. The CW site says it's an 'upcoming' book series by Kass Morgan so if I like the show, guess I'll have another book series to add to my list. Kelly Hu is in it too

Hmm...well, I await the results. CW seems to be rounding out pretty nicely for me. I started the network with Nikita and expanded to Vampire Diaries and Supernatural, then Arrow came along and now The Originals is coming. The Tomorrow People has my eye as well.
Weren't they supposed to also be working on some 'Hunger Games-esque' show? Whatever happened to that or did they drop it?

I think that hunger game show didn't make the cut. And yea I used to watch one tree hill in the cw and then went on to the vampire diaries and nikita since it would come on right after.
I tried the secret circle and ringer but it didn't make the cut for me to keep watching. And now Arrow which is awesome.
But definitely looking forward to tomorrow people and the originals

Was the hunger game type show called The Selection? I don't care for the hunger games myself, but I read about The Selection books & they actually sound really good & I have added those to my list. Surprisingly the show I'm most looking forward to on the CW is Reign. After they put the extended preview of the show out I was really impressed so I can't wait for it. As much as I love The Originals I'm less enthusiastic & the reason for that is because they are going to be leaving a huge whole in TVD! At least for me! I will miss Klaus & Stefan & Klaus & Caroline, & Rebekah! Heck just them in general! I would say Elijah, but we've hardly seen him at all & the few times we did see him this season it seemed like he was almost written OOC with the whole Katherine thing. It was completely out of left field. Then there's the whole Hayley baby thing! Yeah, I'm really going to miss them on TVD.

I need to look into Reign.
As far as The Originals goes, I think it needed to be done. Klaus was kind of written into a corner for the show as they couldn't kill him off and they overdid the trying to put him out of commission storyline while him kind of just lingering and occasionally being a problem or help. Moving him to a new town with new issues solves most of his problems and lets him develop down a different path. Elijah is there off and on before going and doing his own thing but I kind of felt he was the odd one out on being used around the others. The rest of the family has shown to be hot headed and hanging around the regular gang just doesn't seem to mesh well with his more cool/classy attitude/approach so maybe that's why he doesn't hang around often either =\ And Bekah gets used way too often on TVD by EVERYONE so I'm waiting for her to jump over too.
I like the idea of what comes of a child from the first Hybrid/An Original Vampire who is of the bloodline of Witches, born of a Werewolf mother. This child is born this way, not modified later on. Who knows what rules will be broken with them as they're going to be this all in one package now.

Yes I like slash like the whole baby storyline well atleast the potential it could have. I remember us being in the Chatroom we were probably the ones most excited opposed to everyone else saying how stupid it was.
I remember being super excited after I watched the pilot and when I went on tumblr everyone was saying all these negative things.
I'm glad the show got picked up anyway.
And the baby might have a little of all three since klaus was also made a vampire.
Might have some special abilities I look forward to see how they will play this out. You know Haley will be the one they will use against klaus bc if the baby and I'm also interested to see how their relationship pans out with the whole baby.
This story can go so many ways. =)

I pretty much agree with you on what you said about Klaus because it is true. I mean how many times can they all threaten each other & to kill him. It was getting old & yes they had written him into a corner. It's just that they made them such a large & central part of the show these past few years it's gonna be hard to see it without them and that's what I'm going to miss. If I could have my wishes granted I would have them send Caroline & Stefan to NO with The Originals! I guess the baby thing could be interesting, but I wish it was ANYBODY but Hayley. I just can't stand her character. It has nothing at all to do with Caroline/Klaus thing either because I was never really a "shipper". I just simply don't like her & don't care for the actress. Sorry. I would've rather had him hook up with a random stranger off the street. Sorry to go off book topic here! I'm done now!

What am I reading right now? Nothing! I did something I haven't done in years & that's stopped reading a series after one book or halfway through the next one on not one, but two series! I'm so disappointed. I hate started a book or a series & not finishing it, but I just couldn't go on any longer. The first series was the Existence Trilogy by Abbi Glines which was just.... how to describe it? No character development whatsoever. I'm a big fan of love at first site. However talk, get to know each other. He sings her to sleep, they have a hand full of conversations, he leaves, she goes crazy, she goes to an institution & then he comes back & they tell each other they love each other & all is right in the world! It was a supernatural story because he was a reaper & all, but not even that could hold my attention. Three chapters in the 2nd book I just had to quit. The 2nd series I'm going to let go is the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa which I am sad about because I was so looking forward to reading it. It's about faeries & is suppose to be a love story. Well it started out slightly interesting and I kept waiting for something to happen. All I got was a VERY detailed description of the fairytale world & every possible creature you could ever conjure up in your imagination! Nothing happened till almost the last 5 chapters of the book! At that point I no longer cared! It's a 4 books series with 3 novellas & a spin off series! I just can't imagine what those would be like! I'm slightly curious to see if it could get better, but right now I could care less if the so-called heroine starts to develop these powers she's told that will soon awaken in her. If you've read these books before I commend you! If not I might suggest skipping them! If you decide to proceed I hope you have alot of time & patience! Now I have to find something that will hopefully grab my attention like The Vampire Academy & Lux series did, like in the first chapter! Now these books aren't perfect by any means. There were times I wanted to slap a few of the characters, but I still couldn't put the books down & practically stayed up all night till I finished each one!

Was actually just coming to post about Julie's other series. Got roughly 60 pages to read and I have to say, I really enjoy the book. The world is interesting, the Vampires are very well defined and there is a great/likable female lead (she's not an Elena/Sookie/Bella). Sounds like Iron Fey is like Fallen. That book didn't pick up for me/get interesting till the last few chapters. Hmm...might roll the dice on Iron Fey and just grab the first book.
EDIT: You know what, anyone else have anything with a defined female lead that is low key on a triangle or doesn't have one at all? As stated above, characters like Elena, Bella and Sookie annoy the %*{€ out of me but when you throw characters like Mercy (Mercy Thompson), Anna (Alpha & Omega), Rose (Vampire Academy), Allison (Blood Eden) at me, they stand out as not falling into the former group. Hell, I think Teen Wolf's Alison is miles better than the other 3 aforementioned leads despite the bigger followings/exposure.

Well I'm glad to hear her other series is better, but I'm telling you the first Iron Fey book will bore you to tears! Someone needed to do some serious editing! Like half the book. When you're use to stuff happening in the first chapter of a book, UGH, just painful! It took me 4 days to read it! I kept putting it off. That's rare for me if I'm really into a book. You're right, Rose is a tough act to follow!
