Thank you, Deb, for putting this up. Enjoyable. I am giving this episode props not so much for the quality of writing but for spending some money on effects. Excellent vamp zipping. Also I laughed out loud at the fast forward -- that was hilarious. I liked the looks of Stefan and Damon very much through the entire episode. They were gorgeous AND well-dressed. Sweet Stefan goodbye to Lily, beautiful scene. Liked the suspense leading inevitably to the ending -- it did leave me anxious to see the January premiere! (There is some connection with the Julian story line and one of the books.) What did I not like? Reminded me a little of back in the day of The Originals, when the deck was always totally stacked against the Salvatores. Remember the episode when they started off with 12 white oak stakes and ended up surrendering them entirely within 41 minutes of action? Yeah, like that. Once again, Bonnie is totally usurped.

I loved this episode. Really a shocker and a lot of storyline with feeling in it. Not just a showdown of bloody mess but a everything felt into place this time. Every action was let by feelings and emotions. That's what I used to love on TVD. The end was really unexpected and although everyone knows they will be back it's still not clear if they will be back in present time or just in flash forwards and backwards or whatever. Great episode

I fell asleep. Is that bad? I think the actors jumped ship at the right time (those who left). This season should have never happened and that makes me sad.

Treason, treason, treason!!! I knew those heretics were all a shady useless herd. Except Valerie it seems, looks like she is together with Steff in 3 ys ahead. mmm 5/5 points I liked it ...

I fell asleep. Is that bad? LMAO. I fall asleep regularly while watching the Originals. Like every single episode. TVD this week was considerably better than last week's but still a far cry from what it could be...

Hey demetra, can you elaborate on the book connection? Haven't read them and am always curious to know where the show overlaps. Thanks!!

I'm curious too Not direct. Remember Augustine? Well in the books it was a secret society of vampires at the college basically plotting the return of Klaus -- who in the books is more of a Julian-type character. That's all.

Finally got to catch the episode. I actually enjoyed it very much and I wish by now Stefan would listen to Damon when it came to plotting together. When one brother is not thinking logically something always goes wrong.
Was it me or I was feeling major Bonnie and Nora scenes. I actually liked her this episode up until she knocked Bonnie out and stabbed Stefan.
Valerie....i want to like but im still on the fence about.
Damon had no chill button this episode. Low blows and commentary was everywhere.
Do they need to bring Klaus up in here to take out Julian. Would love to see a cross over for this. If only....
Caroline on her control freak tendancies...ive missed it n ive missed seeing vamps b vamps on this show.
Valerie n Stefan in the future....count me out!!! Not buyinh it.
Overall pretty good episode. Wish tvd wasnt getting pushed to fridays but i guess superheroes r currently taking over.
Sent from my SM-G900T using proboards

Wish tvd wasnt getting pushed to fridays but i guess superheroes r currently taking over. Sent from my SM-G900T using proboards I just watched the episode. I really enjoyed it too! You are totally right about the brothers, if they aren't on board with each other's plans it always goes badly as seen by the ending of this episode! I was thinking major Bonnie and Nora vibes..... A bit of a girl fling for Bonnie before the future Enzo love affair maybe? I was actually liking Nora a bit more too, they showed a bit more of her personality but then she screwed it up by being her dirty rotten self and hurting Bonnie and stabbing Stefan! These heretics never seem to think - they just act. I can't stand Mary Louise!!!!!! Argh she annoys me BUT what she said about Valerie is true, convenient for her to tell her story now.... Damons commentary to Stefan about Caroline's pregnancy was humorous to start with (uncky steffy, creepy dude who hangs out with mum but is not dad) but then he got a little mean about it. Argh yuck!! the Stefan/Valerie glimpse of the future just grossed me out and annoyed me and then their little moment at Lilly's funeral - why wasn't Caroline there? You'd think she would've been by her boyfriends side to bury his mother having just recently known herself what that feels like..... And Enzo obviously didn't care that much about Lilly as he didn't come back for her funeral either.... Both the brothers have been stabbed by the knife and are to endure their own private hells in the Phoenix stone.... We know Stefan is marked so does that mean Damon is too? (If the marks are to do with the stone as I thought that's how the soul finds the body it needs to go back into).... All I really want to know is why this mystery woman is mainly only after Stefan? Guess I'll find out eventually!

I stopped reading just before the college series because L.J. Smith was booted from the series, so any of the red cover books aren't hers. Though she did mention Sebastian was hers too and I think he was or is a love interest for Bonnie?
