Originals EP Talks Klaus and Aurora's Future, Cami's Arrest and More..
“Christmas” came early on Thursday’s The Originals, bringing with it gifts of crushing heartbreak, game-changing reveals and… a false arrest? Executive producer Michael Narducci spoke with reporters about how this week’s biggest twists will impact the residents of New Orleans moving forward, but first, a quick recap: * Cami was arrested for the recent string of handsome-man murders. (She’s innocent!) * Hayley and Jackson continued to work for Davina as her personal bodyguards, earning their freedom. * Aurora’s vampire origins were revealed: She tried to kill herself back in the day, which forced Rebekah to use her blood to save her. So she killed herself again — this time with vampire blood in her system — and was reborn. * We also learned that Aurora told Elijah that Klaus killed their mother. (Oops?) EX-GAMES | Fear not, lovers of insanity — the madness inspired by Aurora’s return has only just begun. “She’s kind of like the ex-girlfriend from hell,” Narducci says, adding that “she sounds perfect for Klaus.” That said, those two aren’t the only ones with history. “We’ve found out there’s a great sin from Elijah’s past,” Narducci adds. “Maybe Elijah has stood by Klaus’ side for all these centuries because of a sense of guilt. Maybe the noble, beautiful, honorable Elijah has some chinks in his armor.” REBEKAH’S RETURN | Narducci says we’ll be seeing Rebekah in present-day New Orleans “very soon,” but refused to confirm whether she’ll be portrayed by Claire Holt or Maisie Richardson-Sellers. “I love both of those amazing actors, and we’re fortunate enough that we have a storyline that will have to resolve Rebekah in Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ body and pick up with what’s going on with the original body, as well. In not too long, you’ll understand how that’s going to play out.” CAMI BEHIND BARS | Still reeling from Cami’s arrest? Well, don’t relax just yet. “We’re going to see the effects of Cami being arrested and her room full of dark objects being discovered by the police,” Narducci teases, adding that the discovery “might play a larger role into what the mastermind villains are up to in terms of how they want to deal with the Mikaelson family. … Things are going to get a lot worse a lot more quickly for her.” And for all you faithful Klaus/Cami ‘shippers: “Eventually, and inevitably, [Klaus] will be concerned very much for what has happened to Cami.” THE FUTURE OF ‘HAYLIJAH’ | Let’s start with the good news: When it comes to Hayley and Elijah’s relationship, Narducci can assure fans that “nothing is ever finished.” That said, Jackson also “loves her and wants to be a good husband to her.” So what’s next? “Hayley’s going to find herself in the difficult decision of having to choose between this man she married, who is now her family, and the father of her daughter and the brother of the father of her daughter. That’s an impossible place to be.” Narducci also says that Episode 6 ends with “the most chilling and the most romantic and the most sexy, but also the most horrifying, ending we’ve ever done.” Could that be Hayley-related? DAVINA DIVIDED | The most powerful witch in town will remain a hot commodity in the coming weeks, as “there are people who want her on their team, and they might not be the best people,” Narducci explains. But she also hasn’t forgotten the reason she became Regent in the first place: to resurrect Kol. Adds Narducci, “Has she given up on bringing him back? I don’t think we should give up on that drive.” PROPHECY HIJACKERS | Could alleged enemies Lucien and Tristan be — gasp! — working together? It’s entirely possible, according to Narducci, who says the duo’s desire to survive might just overpower their differences: “These vampires understand a prophecy has been delivered that the Mikaelsons are going to die. [They’re thinking], ‘Even though we have strife between us, the danger is that we’ll be wiped out when our sires are wiped out. Let’s put aside our differences and find a way to hijack this prophecy and make it work out in our best interest.” tvline.com/2015/11/05/the-originals-cami-arrested-klaus-aurora-reunite-season-3-spoilers/

SPOILER:
Question: Still freaking out after The Originals’ midseason finale. Please tell me you have good news. — BettyAusiello: Sorry, Betty, no good news here — especially if you’re a Mikaelson. As if Aurora, Tristan and Lucien weren’t enough, I hear another shadow from the Original family’s past is coming back to haunt them in 2016. Be on the lookout for Cortez, a “callous, smart and manipulative” vampire with “little regard for human life.” Sounds like a hoot, no? tvline.com/2015/12/17/cary-gay-the-good-wife-sexuality-season-7-spoilers/#more-667809

Vampire Diaries and The Originals to cross over this season
The worlds of Mystic Falls and New Orleans will be coming together as The Vampire Diaries and The Originals stage a crossover this season, CW boss Mark Pedowitz announced at the Television Critics Association’s press tour on Sunday. “You will see, organically, a crossover this year,” Pedowitz said. “Not of the size and scope of we do for Arrow and Flash. They have to make sense [story-wise]. If they don’t make sense story-wise, don’t do it, don’t force it — the audience can tell.” EW can now reveal how the Salvatores and Mikaelsons will cross paths: “It’s something that we’ve always wanted to do, but never could quite find the organic way to do it,” executive producer Julie Plec tells EW. “We never wanted to force it. The storylines happen to match up in a way that Stefan [Paul Wesley] has to go on the run and seek safe haven, and lo and behold, New Orleans is that safe haven, and who does he come face-to face-with but Klaus Mikaelson. It’s a nice two-episode set of Vampire Diaries-Originals cohabitation. It’s going to be good. I’m excited about it.” When the shows return, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals are heading to Friday night. “The move to Friday night is not a move to exile [the shows],” Pedowitz insisted. “It’s a move to strengthen Friday night.” The Vampire Diaries and The Originals return Friday, Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. ET, respectively, on The CW. www.ew.com/article/2016/01/10/vampire-diaries-originals-crossover-spoilers

The Originals: Kol Mikaelson will return to present-day this season - But in which body? For Davina, 2015 was a bit of a rough year. Not only did she lose her boyfriend, Kol Mikaelson, but the same thing happened to her best friend Josh, who lost Aiden. And then there’s the whole thing where she became regent of all New Orleans witches only to have that title stripped away. So yeah, she doesn’t live in an attic anymore, but at this point, is life outside much better? The good news is there’s one person who could make 2016 a little more bearable, and it seems now that Davina is no longer regent, she can refocus on bringing him back. “We will see Kol back on The Originals this season,” executive producer Michael Narducci tells EW. “Davina will find help from an unlikely place and make contact with the long lost love of her life, Kol Mikaelson.” However, like most things on The Originals, reconnecting with Kol is not going to be simple. “In order to reach out to him, she’ll have to embark on a dangerous journey into New Orleans’ supernatural underworld,” Narducci says, adding, “This will be the first chapter in a storyline that will have long-lasting effects on the entire Mikaelson clan.” Now the question is: Which Kol will we get — the vampire played by Nathaniel Buzolic or the witch played by Daniel Sharman? And either way, how will Kol’s return affect the Mikaelson prophecy? www.ew.com/article/2016/01/10/the-originals-kol-mikaelson-return

I'm so happy that the cross-over will be with Klaus & Stefan! The only way I'd want it to happen is with these two. As much as I was a fan of Klaroline in the past, I've grown rather fond of him with Cami which I never thought possible! I always loved Klaus & Stefan's scenes together so this will be fun. It should be an interesting conversation between the two of them since apparently Caroline is with Stefan now and she's pregnant with Alaric's babies or so I've heard. How'd that happen. I'm SO happy that Kol is finally coming back!!! It's a about dang time!! I am a little torn however. I've always wanted it to be Nate, but I grew rather fond of Daniel. Besides he's the one that Davina fell in love with and had chemistry with and made her tolerable so now I'm not sure. It's like with Rebekah. I had always loved Claire since she originated the role, but I fell in love with Maisie and actually preferred her. I was so heartbroken when they killed her off. I was really hoping there was a way they could keep both of them around.

Winter TV Preview: Returning Favorites
THE ORIGINALS Following Aurora's (ambiguously fatal) attack on Cami, "Klaus is obviously incensed and is going to demand some major revenge," executive producer Michael Narducci says, which will lead to Klaus and Elijah "wreaking the kind of havoc the Mikaelson brothers are known for." (FYI: It'll take "a while" for Klaus to find out that Elijah agreed to secretly dagger Rebekah, so enjoy the brothers' partnership while it lasts.) Meanwhile, Hayley and Jackson will continue the fight to "save" their marriage against mounting obstacles, courtesy of the Mikaelson family, and Davina will once again — more successfully this time — reach out to Kol. "Will that be Nathaniel Buzolic?" Narducci asks. "Will it be Daniel Sharman? That's going to be a fun story with major repercussions for the show." RETURN DATE: Friday, Jan. 29 at 9/8c (The CW) tvline.com/gallery/tv-spoilers-2016-season-premieres-photos/#!14/winter-preview-originals/

The Originals Casts Days' Matt Cedeño as Shadow From the Mikaelsons' Past
As if the Mikaelsons weren’t already up to their perfect jawlines in unwelcome guests, here comes another one. Matt Cedeño (Devious Maids, Days of Our Lives) will arrive in Episode 15 of The Originals‘ current season, TVLine has learned, playing a “callous, smart and manipulative vampire from the Mikaelsons’ past who comes to New Orleans seeking vengeance.” “Cortez is someone who was sired by a unique circumstance,” executive producer Michael Narducci tells TVLine. “He has a very interesting perspective, particularly on Klaus. He’s of Klaus’ sire line, but he was not sired by Klaus. He’s a very intriguing character, one of the most dangerous folks we’ve met.” The Originals returns with new episodes on Friday, Jan. 29 at 9/8c on The CW. tvline.com/2016/01/15/the-originals-matt-cedeno-cortez-season-3-spoilers/#more-674950

Vampire Diaries/Originals Crossover: Klaus and Stefan Bond Over.....
Now that The CW has confirmed a Vampire Diaries/Originals crossover for later this season, it’s time to talk details. “The crossover was born out Stefan needing a place to escape,” executive producer Julie Plec tells TVLine. “He’s on the run. He needs to go somewhere where magic can’t find him, and we realized he can go to New Orleans where there’s that bar where magic doesn’t work.” Plec planned to leave it at that, a fun episode of The Vampire Diaries with special guest star Klaus Mikaelson — that is, until Joseph Morgan joined the conversation: “Joe said, ‘I’ll happily do it on The Vampire Diaries, but can we do this on The Originals, too?’ We said, ‘If we can come up with something good, absolutely,’ and then we realized we have the perfect storyline already happening: the sire line and the war [between] all the trinity, and the prophecy saying that one of these Originals will die or all of them will fall. The fear of that impacts Stefan directly, and so he sticks around for an Originals episode to participate in the latest dilemma to come out of that situation.” Klaus hasn’t seen Stefan since the hero-haired Salvatore started dating the supposed love of Klaus’ life, but if you’re hoping to witness an all-out battle for the affections of Caroline Forbes, you’re going to be pretty disappointed. “Stefan’s now with Caroline, and Klaus, of course, has just gone through everything he’s gone through with Cami,” Plec reminds us. “They actually have a surprisingly civil and honest conversation about love — what it means and the sacrifices that you have to make in the name of it.” tvline.com/2016/01/22/vampire-diaries-originals-crossover-spoiler-klaus-stefan-caroline/#more-676896

Originals Exclusive First Look: See Haley Ramm as witch Ariane
After three seasons of The Originals, one thing is evident: Every vampire needs a witch. Luckily for Klaus and company, their newly discovered sister, Freya, is gifted when it comes to locator spells, witchy migraines, and the like. And it’s a good thing, because Davina is no longer a fan of the Mikaelson clan, though she will spend some time resurrecting one of them. But all of this is to say that there’s always room for another witch in town, even now that Vincent has taken over as regent. EW has an exclusive first look at new witch Ariane, played by Haley Ramm. First set to appear in episode 311, Ariane is described as a powerful witch from a coven that practices a particularly dangerous form of dark magic. (Read: She’s probably bad news.) In the photo, she’s seen alongside Aya, Tristan’s righthand woman and a high-ranking member of The Strix. So perhaps she’s a part of their plan to take down the Mikaelsons? The Originals returns Friday, Jan. 29 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. www.ew.com/article/2016/01/25/the-originals-haley-ramm-ariane-first-look

The Originals: Heroes Alum Taylor Cole Books Arc as Badass, In-Demand Vamp
The Originals is welcoming another good-looking vampire with questionable intentions to its ranks. Taylor Cole (Heroes) will recur on the CW series as Sofya, a smart, badass vampire whose skills are highly sought after on the black market, TVLine has learned exclusively. Though her loyalty remains solely to herself, Sofya is always willing to lend a hand — to the highest bidder, of course. Sofya will make her first appearance this season in Episode 16. Cole’s previous TV credits also include arcs on Impastor, The Glades and CSI: Miami, plus episodes of Supernatural, Castle and Hawaii Five-0. tvline.com/2016/01/26/the-originals-sofya-cast-taylor-cole-season-3-spoilers/#more-677775

I know I'm a little a little late posting this since the episode is airing right now, but it's a really good interview with Nate. So happy to have Kol back! I hope they don't kill him off again!!!! The Originals' Nathaniel Buzolic Talks Kol's Return, Honoring Daniel Sharman
Kol Mikaelson is finally back — in the flesh! — on Friday’s The Originals (The CW, 9/8c), and I’m pretty sure Nathaniel Buzolic speaks for the entire fandom when he tells TVLine, “It’s been a long time coming.” Like most of us, Buzolic was never really sure if we’d ever see Kol back in his original body, but there’s one thing he never doubted: “The fans of The Originals and The Vampire Diaries have been so passionate about wanting my character back in his natural body — or his real body, I should say. It’s been so flattering for me.” Below, Buzolic previews Kol’s new lease on life, his future with Davina and how he pays tribute to Daniel Sharman’s take on the character: TVLINE | Kol is such a fun character. What did you miss most about him while you two were apart?I love how different he is from the other Originals; his cheekiness is an important part of the family dynamic. Every family has the black sheep — the cheeky, naughty kid that always has something to say. It’s fun playing that character because he’s unpredictable in every situation. TVLINE | I feel like he’s the most relatable Mikaelson sibling.Yeah, exactly. He’s the naughty, cheeky kid we all want to be, even if we’re not always brave enough to commit to the actions. TVLINE | What would you say his priorities are now that he’s back among the living?First of all, he’s very much indebted to Davina for not giving up on him. She’s the only character who really committed to bring him back; you’d think his brothers and sisters would have helped, but I guess they got distracted. It’s really the first time someone has put him first in a loving way, so everything falls on his love and respect for Davina. TVLINE | I’d love to see Kol and Davina go on some nice, quiet dates — but I feel like things will be too hectic for that to happen.[Laughs] Hey, you never know. New Orleans is an interesting place, and there’s always something going on. But I agree, I think a lot of the fans would like to see these two on a few dates. TVLINE | Given that the Kol/Davina relationship originated with Daniel Sharman playing Kol, how did you and Danielle Campbell find your own chemistry?I have a great admiration for Danielle; we get along really, really well, which I think made it easy to find our chemistry. I’ll admit that I didn’t watch all of Daniel Sharman’s episodes, so I had to ask Danielle a few times, “This is a reference to something Daniel did, right?” So I was like, “OK, I’ll do that for a few episodes, but then I’m bringing Nathaniel Buzolic’s Kol back permanently.” When you have two people playing one character, you kind of have to find a balance. TVLINE | And what’s Kol’s new dynamic with his family? I imagine they’ll be surprised to see him. It’s a really great episode. Now that the sire link has been broken, Klaus is a sitting duck. He gets into a position where he’s really relying on his family to help him overcome his enemies. As you can imagine, not many people like Klaus. He can probably count his allies on one hand. With my character’s return, he’s immediately put into a situation where he’s like, “Oh, here we go again. I’m back fixing Klaus’ problems.” TVLINE | Dumb question: Has Kol ever met Freya?Once, I think, during a Christmastime episode; but he didn’t know who she was at the time. So we’ve definitely interacted, but it’s still going to be one of those moments where Kol’s like, “I know this girl, but I don’t know where she’s from.” That’ll be quite an interesting discovery. TVLINE | The Mikaelsons will have a ton of old enemies coming for them now that the link is broken. Will any of Kol’s old enemies come crawling out of the woodworks?[Laughs] I’m sure there are some ex flames who would be upset that he’s back and in love with another girl. tvline.com/2016/03/04/the-originals-spoilers-kol-returns-nathaniel-buzolic-interview/#more-690583

The Originals’ killing off Leah Pipes? The evidence is mounting
With the Season 3 finale of “The Originals” rapidly approaching, it sounds like a death is coming to New Orleans and chances are it’s going to be a big one. An Atlanta-based casting company has put out a call on Facebook for extras to take part in a funeral scene for the series. “Some need to be dressed for a Funeral (suits, etc..), and some are casual observers/pedestrians – think suits,” the notice read. While it would be easy to think the funeral was for someone on the show other than a core cast member, an Instagram post from a fan would disagree. In a series of three photos, the fan poses with Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies and Phoebe Tonkin — all of whom are wearing what definitely looks to be funeral attire. So who’s going to bite the dust? Sadly, the answer may be Cami (Leah Pipes). Though many thought her being turned into a vampire would open up a new avenue for evolving Cami, the evidence points to her demise being imminent. https://www.instagram.com/p/BDTjepwRImI First and foremost, Jeffrey Hunt — director of episode 21 of this season — shared a photo of the cast during a table reading of the Season 3 finale and there’s one face noticeably missing. Even fans in the photo’s comments are asking why Pipes is not at the table read, though they definitely don’t get an answer. Additionally, there’s the fact that Pipes has yet to tweet about “The Originals” getting a Season 4 renewal on The CW. It’s not an outright indictment — after all, Pipes doesn’t tweet every single day — but the silence could be telling. zap2it.com/2016/03/the-originals-killing-off-leah-pipes-evidence/
