Thank you, jennifer and Kiki. Very big thanks to each and all who got the word out and contributed a signature. It was others who created the two petitions and the Facebook page. I just *wish* we'd twigged to the story last year, when it was rolling out locally. By the time they had the demolition permit, chances were very slight that we could change their minds. The demolition was so hasty, they really didn't save a lot of the materials that could have been saved, ie wood panelling. Maybe they knew better. But I was really impressed by the international TVD community who answered the call as soon as the word got out. I feel the local preservationists at least felt heard, albeit too late to save Glenridge Hall.

It just made for a difficult week for us all, I fear. Losing Nina is a much bigger deal to the fantasy of TVD, but losing Glenridge Hall is pretty heartbreaking to the preservationists who tried vainly to be heard for a long time.

It was such a beautiful house... I always thought it would make a great hotel

What a shame! I can't believe it's gone. First it was Elena's house, now it's Stefan and Damon's. We're losing so much of the show's history. So sad.
Oh well, we did what we could, and I guess there should be some satisfaction in that.

What a poignant tribute from someone born and raised in the area, who grew up around the house. She makes really good points.
