::)I am thinking Katherine will be the one to save him from the water because she is always trying to find things out so she will figure things out go after stefen and he will fall in for her because shewas there for him when elena should have been. what does everyone think?

Even as recent as 4x22 I would have been against Steferine but now my attitude is BRING IT ON! Stefan deserves some happiness and as long as the story line is written well, I would support it. I actually liked the Stebekah story line last year. Even though it was really just sex, Stefan wasn't a creep bag like his big brother. Stefan was really sweet to Rebekah and I wouldn't mind seeing more of that even if it is with Katherine. Although Katherine is portrayed as a villain, similar to Damon and Klaus, and even though she abused Stefan when he was a human, I find that her back story makes her a more endearing character and opens up the potential for her redemption. As a young woman from the 15th century who bore a child out of wedlock and was banished from her family only to be hunted down to be killed because she is a doppelganger speaks volumes as to why Katherine has focused on self-preservation above all else. When you compare Katherine's back story to Damon's, Damon's story severely pales in comparison. Damon is all about his man pain because Katherine didn't pick him over his brother. There may be a little jealousy too as Stefan was also the favoured son but when you compare this to what Katherine went through, Damon's reasons for being such a dick are laughable. Again, depending how the writers handle Katherine becoming human again, it does make sense that Stefan would feel something for Katherine. Stefan is empathetic and he did love Katherine's human side and not her vampire side. If it would make Elena jealous too then that is a bonus!

If it would make Elena jealous too then that is a bonus! to be honest I do think this will come into play (the part I highlighted) and I am okay with it as long as they do not insinuate that Stefan can't love a vampire--- because I think that he proved that he loved Elena "either way" I have always like Stefrine even though I didn't want to--- but they play off each other well and I always like their interactions. Elena being jealous is also a plus.

Yeah why can't stefen love a vampire? Stefan can love a vampire. His best friend is a vampire and he has established many strong relationships with other vampires (Caroline, Tyler, Rebekah, etc). Elena turned into a vampire and as Stefan said to Lexi in the finale 'She's the love of my life, I'd go back to her in a heartbeat.' Stefan didn't love Katherine as a vampire because Katherine was abusive. When she revealed herself to Stefan she did so by feeding off of him. Can you imagine how a 17 year-old living in that time period would react to something like that? The next morning when Stefan awoke he was scared out of his mind and not able to comprehend what was happening so Katherine compelled his fear away. Because Katherine compelled him, Stefan never had a chance to work through his feelings. Had Katherine approached Stefan in a different manner without blind-siding him with her vampirism, maybe he wouldn't have been so afraid. Similar to how Stefan revealed himself to Elena, she was scared at first too but Stefan gave her the space and the time to ask questions and figure it out on her own without any pressure And Stefan didn't reveal himself to Elena by feeding off of her. Stefan had ever reason to be afraid of vampire Katherine and it's Katherine who didn't give Stefan the chance to get to know her vampire side in a safe way. In the present day, Stefan is also so angry with Katherine because she fed him her blood without his consent. Stefan became a vampire without consent. Of course Stefan is going to be angry with Katherine in the present day because she abused the power she had over him while he was human. Damon on the other hand had more 'world' experience. Damon had witnessed war and death before he met Katherine and I always found it to be a worse reflection on Damon that he was able to accept Katherine and willingly want to become a vampire. Damon went so far as to help Katherine hunt and kill humans while he himself was human. And Damon willingly accepted Katherine training him how to be a vamp. At this point too Stefan is a vampire so it's not that he can't love a vampire but it just depends on the vampire. In 1864, Katherine was the problem, not Stefan.

That makes complete sense and prior to last season I never wanted them to be together but now I can't stand Elena and I am hoping that Katherine's more likeable side and her back story will play a big role in season five.

I am really upset that they never explored Katherine and stefen when he had no memories of her. She mentioned she did not want to go see him because he has no memories of her. This is not Katherine like behavior at all. She would take every opportunity to make him fall in love with her all over again. Maybe she is wanting to get cured first but now it is too late.
