sad, because this season is awesome and well, what can I say...it is their loss ... I mean them that aren't watching I think they are starting to understand they have alienated a huge part of there viewers and perhaps with this storyline they are trying to bring them back. The issue is they dont want to lose de and de is extremely demanding more so than any other ship in my opinion sorry if I offend. So they may have hurt themselves so if they try and bring everyone else back they risk lising de but if they stay the course they lose everyone else so I can see the dilemma they are in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using proboards I just found out That Smolder directed this episode and found this on facepalm today hollywoodlife.com/2015/03/12/vampire-diaries-damon-elena-break-up-ian-somerhalder-interview/‘Vampire Diaries': Ian Somerhalder Doubts Delena Will Work Out and will be endgame ...

Ratings so far: 6x16 * 1.33 - lowest rated episode of TVD so far. 6x15 * 1.41 6x14 * 1.52 6x13 * 1.61 6x12 * 1.47 6x11 * 1.63 6x10 * 1.82 6x09 * 1.49 6x08 * 1.68 6x07 * 1.54 6x06 * 1.59 6x05 * 1.58 6x04 * 1.66 6X03 * 1.83 6x02 * 1.67 6x01 * 1.81 My God... that is terrible! What the hell is going on? Why aren't fans watching the show anymore? Doesn't make any sense to me. The show isn't so bad as to warrant those kinds of numbers. I know it's the CW but come on? I'm really starting to get scared, cause despite my frustrations I don't want the show to get cancelled. I know the CW will try to give it every opportunity to succeed, but if the numbers keep falling like this, who knows what they might do? I can't imagine Julie is taking this lightly. She must be freaking out. I'm seriously speechless right now.

Great episode! Another 5. Ian did a great job on his directorial debut. Plus he had the benefit of a good script, something that they have not gifted to Paul as of yet. Loved the reveal about Mama as a rippah precursor. Loved Bonnie and Caroline both having strong roles. Caroline's meta crack about Elena was hilarious. Chaos is breaking out all over -- fun!

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using proboards There's no reason to make excuses for it. It is just bad. Period. Last episode was a 1.41, so what was the reason for that? There clearly is a trend here this season, and sports being on has little to do with it. Something is seriously going on in the fandom.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using proboards I think this is all based on the bad decisions they've made in the past, and seemingly continue to make in the present. They've all come home to roost, and TVD is reaping its terrible benefits. Continually killing off beloved characters. Check. Bringing them back so many times that their deaths and other subsequent deaths have little meaning. Check. Undermining the tension and fear on the show by using said strategy. Check. Spoon-feeding us dysfunctional Delena one nauseating bite after another. Check. (BTW, this is in regards to how their relationship was handled on the show, not whether they should be in a relationship or not). Taking away character's agency by compulsion. Check. Giving them convenient excuses to circumvent their problems instead of allowing them to handle things like adults. Check. The Sire bond and its still sickening effects. Check. Destroying SE's epic relationship with the absurd fate-imbued reasoning. Check. Continually showing no guts in regards to their characters or potential storylines. Check. Undermining Elena's character to the point that she became a pariah to fans. Check. All these and more have contributed to the mess TVD is in right now. It's a pattern that is deep rooted in the show, and sadly Julie and company have no interest in changing it. They'll rack their brains to figure out where they went wrong and what they can do about it, but they'll never allow themselves to see what's right in front of their eyes, and THAT will ultimately be their downfall. If fact, it already is, and unless a miracle happens, season seven will be their last. They had a good run, but they screwed it up, and they have no one to blame but themselves.

I dont think it will matter they have a plan to finish the show and they may have said play away these past coupl years but they will finish even if they lose certain parts od fandom others will come back and the network still gets a lot of social media attetion from tvd. At this point they don't have to think about ratings or getting renewed anymore. I don't think the current main cast will sign on for more than a 7th season. So I doubt the show will see a season 8. They already secured a 7th season no matter what the ratings say. Hopefully we will see a storyline based on the orignal plans Kevin williamson (Happy 50th Birthday to him btw) and Julie made up long ago. They don't need to please shippers anymore they can tell the story they want and not care about angry fans who stop watching. So please make the show good again and stop pleasing the loudest shippers because they are loud and have too much time for votings but obviously they are not many

Like under a million? What then? Even though I don't see things getting that bad, you never know. If they finally decide to break up DE, that might be the case. The recent slide doesn't give me any hope. But I am looking forward to a seventh season, and I hope they conclude the show on better terms. The fans deserve it.

CW will not take it away. So who cares about the ratings? Look at the Beauty & The beast or Reign ratings, they still got renewed and TVD is still 4th in the CW ranking. I liked this episode! Very articulate.
I'm particularly excited at the prospect of Ripper Momma Salvatore and Ripper Stefan possibly meeting.

I think we can all agree that this was the best moment of the night, no? "I compelled a student to perform surgery on Stefan's niece and you found a way to make this about you? God you truly have a gift Elena." Might not go so far as the best moment, but it certainly was laugh out funny!

I liked it when stefen was like she is not having a yard sale. My immediate thought was well it is caroline so her without humanity could be selling everything and organizing a yard sale. Obviously stef does know her that well.
