maybe another Cheap Trick song?
Cheap Trick - Let her go
Heads down, buried in the sand She's back now, I better wash my hands She talks like a man gettin' higher than I can Lovin' me when I'm in a rock band Let her go
She's living in shadows Waits there in the shadows tonight And sleeps on a bed of nails Let her go
Close the window, it's time to shut the door Say a prayer now, and get down on the floor There's a howling wind blowing through my brain Moving in slow, just like the hurricane Let her go
She's living in shadows Waits there in the shadows tonight And sleeps on a bed of nails Let her go Oh let her go Yeah, let her go Let her go
She can't fall in love Her heart's cold as ice now Let her go
She can't cry for love There's no tears left inside for one to show Let her go
She waits in the shadows tonight And sleeps on a bed of nails Let her go
She's living in shadows Waits there in the shadows tonight And sleeps on a bed of nails Let her go Yeah let her go Yeah let her go Let her go

I'm thinking the Passenger song from 1994. This song sounds like Damon's regret. Love or an accidental death (Bonnie?). One stanza made me think of Bonnie in the first part and Elena in the second: "Well you see her when you fall asleep But never to touch and never to keep 'Cause you loved her too much And you dived too deep" It's going to be emotional if JP is writing and directing, probably a Big Deal episode. [Cut the song lyrics since this isn't the right song]

Oops, I'm totally wrong about 1994 for that one Kiki. I typed in Let Her Go 1994 and it brought up Passenger videos but I didn't double-check. Darn, I was thinking Damon letting go of Elena would be a great episode! You did your homework with Cheap Trick. Man these songs are getting depressing. Maybe it's about Kai trying to merge with Jo and it totally messes him up because he's not a regular witch. Although I'd like for Kai to stay around.

I'm curious about Caroline going in search of more information about vampire blood, yet I don't want Sheriff Forbes to be saved by it. Much as I like the character, death is supposed to mean something now. Sheriff Forbes accepting her fate and Caroline saying goodbye would be the basis for a really good/sad episode. In fact, I can imagine Julie wanting to write and direct the episode since she's good friends with Marguerite.

That's the thing that absolutely terrifies me. I'm having flashbacks to 4x14. First Jeremy is gone, and I'm afraid that they are about to send Tyler away again, and this time it looks like Matt be going with him. It just seems like they have no idea what to do with them anymore, and with last night's episode, it looks like all of Tyler's loose ends are all tied up, and Matt hasn't really had much of a connection to any of the core group lately. Of course this is all speculation, I just have a really bad feeling about it.

Perhaps they just need the Lockwood Mansion set for another purpose.

Ok it seems pretty clear that this episode will be Liz's funeral or preparations for her funeral. Now that we know Caroline and Stefan kiss in 6x14, I'm really wondering what Caroline's "strange change in behavior" could be that Elena notices in 6x15. Could it be awkwardness towards Elena because of what happened with Stefan?
Or is Liz's premonition coming true--the vision she had when she nearly died--of Caroline turning into a monster. Caroline hasn't had a ride on the no-humanity train yet, so perhaps it's her turn? Problem with this is that they've gone to such lengths to show how Stefan has helped Caroline through her mom's death, it doesn't seem likely that she'd spiral like that, especially after finding out that Stefan loves her too.

And Stefan was the one who was close to Caroline lately. He already helped her so much why is it now Damon who is giving her advice? Where is Stefan? And why does Caroline even care about what Damon has to say? She never liked him much...

Well, it is a kiss. Pehaps not a declaration of eternal love. Or a kiss leading to grief sex, which has happened to Caroline before, I think.
