Internet freaks out when J.K. Rowling says we've all been pronouncing Voldemort wrongIn today’s breaking Harry Potter news, J.K. Rowling has announced that we’ve all been pronouncing Voldemort’s name wrong. Apparently, the author intended for the final T to be silent. Not that pronunciation matters, since we’re also not supposed to say his name at all. Rowling spilled the beans on Twitter when responding to a fan who noted the piece of trivia. www.ew.com/article/2015/09/10/jk-rowling-voldemort-pronunciation-wrong

J.K. Rowling says it's the 'dawn of the Age of Hufflepuff'Move over Gryffindor, there’s a new house in the spotlight. Hufflepuff is the Hogwarts house to watch, according to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. The author tweeted on Wednesday, “This is starting to feel like the dawn of the Age of Hufflepuff.” The latest Hufflepuff to make waves is Newt Scamander, the author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He’ll be making his way to the big screen in the upcoming film of the same name, starring Eddie Redmayne. Shooting for the film began last month in England. Hufflepuffs are known to be loyal, true, and hard-working, with other famous members including founder Helga Hufflepuff, Cedric Diggory, and Nymphadora Tonks. The author recently revealed Tonks’ son with Remus Lupin, Teddy Lupin, had followed in his mother’s footsteps and was sorted into Hufflepuff, eventually becoming Head Boy. www.ew.com/article/2015/09/09/harry-potter-jk-rowling-hufflepuff

Harry Potter-themed bar brews magic in TorontoAccio drinks! It’s time to apparate to a new Harry Potter-themed bar in Toronto, Canada. The Lockhart — which Potterheads will recognize as a reference to the vain Defense Against the Dark Arts professor in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets — opened its doors on Saturday, offering a vibe that’s friendly to wizard wannabes and Muggles alike. With subtle references to J.K. Rowling’s magical tale in the decor (like the stag coasters) and drink names (be sure to try The Shacklebolt), the bar aims to be equally appealing to the uninitiated. “Without knowing any of the Harry Potter stuff, you already will think of this as a cool bar,” co-owner Paris Xerx tells Now Toronto. “You’d come here and see the stag’s head on the wall and go, ‘Wow, I love that,’ but a Harry Potter fan might say, ‘That’s a Patronus.’” www.ew.com/article/2015/09/09/harry-potter-bar-toronto-lockhart

Hufflepuffs have their day! Sometimes I wish JKR would let the story be, not keep adding after-the-fact intel, but hey, cheers for Hufflepuffs everywhere including the newly canonized Teddy.

J.K. Rowling Clears Up Harry Potter Rumors and Addresses Fan Theories on TwitterQueen J.K. strikes again. J.K. Rowling (creator of our middle school fantasies about dorky British wizards) is quite active on Twitter. She releases info about upcoming projects, defends Serena Williams and occasionally responds to fan theories. Last week she took to social media to chat with fans about their most burning questions while also shooting down some of the craziest theories offered up by Potterheads. She first addressed a false theory that Ron is a time-traveling Dumbledore. How would that even make sense?! Rowling moved on to another theory about the infamous Draco Malfoy. Although Draco Malfoy is most definitely the worst, he is not a werewolf. She also cleared up a nasty rumor that Snape is a vampire: And most importantly, J.K. did FINALLY spill the big secret about what Snape smells like. Over the summer, Rowling announced a stage play set to open next year in London called Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, which sent fans into a frenzy. She regularly tweets about the status of the project. What Harry Potter fan theory do you want J.K. to answer immediately, if not sooner? www.eonline.com/news/703112/j-k-rowling-clears-up-harry-potter-rumors-and-addresses-fan-theories-on-twitter

I'm interested in Fantastic Beasts wednesday! Thanks for all the links. I loved Eddie Redmayne in Theory of Everything. I'm sure he'll make a good Newt.

The Saddest 'Harry Potter' Deaths Ever
On the 10th anniversary of the 'Goblet of Fire' movie, take a look back at how Cedric compares to the series' other tragic deaths.
The Deaths of 'Harry Potter' J.K. Rowling's seven beloved Harry Potter books made their way to the big screen in the form of eight blockbuster movies, and with them came some seriously heart-wrenching on-screen deaths. From Severus Snape to Albus Dumbledore to Sirius Black, a spoiler-filled retrospective on the movies' saddest deaths, ahead. www.ew.com/gallery/harry-potter-deaths-ranking/2375388_deaths-harry-potterMy top 3 were in the top 5!!!! I agree with #1!!!! Dobby!!!! I can't watch it without Cedric was the first death for the audience and Harry's reaction to it guts me every time! And Sirius became one of my favorite characters very quickly. The last relative Harry had and again his reaction in the film After binging the HP films one might feel like they need therapy!!!
