The CW has released a description for the October 13th episode of The Originals.
GUEST STAR NATHANIEL BUZOLIC APPEARS IN FLASHBACKS TO THE 1700s — As tensions between Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) grow, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) steps in and encourages her to regain her position within her werewolf pack. Still under Davina’s (Danielle Campbell) control, Mikael (Sebastian Roche) grows impatient while she attempts to uncover a spell that would protect those closest to her. When Elijah turns to Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) for help in tracking down a vital piece of information, he is forced to remember a time long ago when they were on better terms. Meanwhile, Davina and Kaleb (guest star Daniel Sharmon) find themselves in a dangerous situation when unexpected visitors show up and crash their dinner. Finally, Klaus grows suspicious after a meeting with Cassie (guest star Natalie Dreyfuss) doesn’t go as he had planned.
Jeffrey Hunt directed the episode written by Michelle Paradise & Michael Narducci (#202).

Klaus what could be more important than our mother ? Ha brilliant. Loved it Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using proboards I had the impression Kol wasn't 100% backing or enthusiastic about Mama Originals plans and behaviour. Maybe he had thought it was all fun and games, but he also looked shocked at all those black stones... Davina is irritating me since episode 1 of season 2, but today I was a bit angry with her, I can't say exactly why either. And I loved it how Klaus sniffed out Esther in spite of the body snatch. Interesting also the flashbacks this time, the relationship between Elijah and little Marcel...and the relationship between them now!

Show isn't holding cards to it's chest for long. Honestly surprised Mikael and Esther are outted already and not dragged out. Keep up that pace. Also interesting to get a further look into why Esther was intent on killing her children.
Didn't Kol in TVD say Klaus daggered him for no reason or something along those lines? I'd say there was plenty of reason given the flashbacks. He was wild when Klaus was reeled in and was playing with fire in regards to Marcel who he didn't consider family but Klaus & Elijah did.
Funny to see how things are. Klaus, Elijah and Bekah have always been 3 in a pod despite their issues, Finn is just...ugh, and Kol is kind of distant himself except the relationship with Klaus. Not surprised he isn't fully behind Esther and Finn. However, if he teams with his other Brothers in the future, hopefully it's in his old body. Sorry, I like the face of old Kol and only see TW's Isaac with the current.
Also interesting that outside of their Vampire bodies, their family ability to practice magic is still possible.
Davina is in over her head with Mikael =\ She really needs to go forward a bit slower with her use of him. I mean it's great that she had him come to her rescue but he was going to kill her too cause she is keeping him leashed from killing Klaus. And if I'm understanding her plan, she's only looking to unlink Marcel and Josh?
With Kol not revealing Mikael to Esther & Finn, he could be the wildcard needed should interference be necessary for Esther.

Sorry I'm late to the party moshe12 I'll try to do better! I thought it was a pretty good episode. The thing I like most about this show is that it doesn't drag things out or beat around the bush! I really enjoyed the flashbacks and look forward to more of them. I loved seeing Nate and hope we get him back as Kol because I agree with Slash I only see Daniel as Issac. Definitely understandable why they daggered Kol back in the day. He was a mini version of Klaus. His little playmate. I love Elijah and he is my favorite Original, but sometimes I wish he wasn't so noble! He's put Klaus's redemption ahead of his happiness for 1,000 years which drives me insane! If Klaus isn't getting all the attention and being put first he starts killing people! Look what he did to poor Rebekah back then. Look what he did when Elijah started bonding with Marcel and tried to help educate him. He unleashed Kol to go on a killing spree because he was bored! It's infuriating! Hopefully we've gotten past most of this. I would really like to see Marcel and Elijah working together now to create a vampire community and can't wait to see Elijah mentor this new girl Gia. I was surprised that Kol didn't let the cat out of the bag about Mikael to Esther. She isn't the most loving thing. I really feel for all of them because the parents are responsible for them being the "abominations" they are today! Now you have both parents out wanting to eliminate them! I'm looking forward to a Mama and Papa reunion. How did they leave off? Does anyone remember? Did Mikael forgive Esther for her betrayal? Again she's the one responsible for Klaus being a hybrid! Oh Davina! Girl you have gotten in way over your head! You've heard how evil Mikael is so she should've known better! It was kinda cool to see him in action though because he was badass! The look on Elijah's face! I loved when he told Klaus about their father and then Klaus's reaction "which of our parents shall we kill first!" They have a family dinner with Esther next week! This can't end well! Finn.. He's as boring now as he was before. Can Oliver please die already!!

I don't think we know how Mikael and Esther ended things. Mikael found out about Klaus after the first kill and I think he went into a blind rage/started waging his war on the local Wolves. I actually don't remember how things went down after that. Did Esther curse Klaus on her own? If she did, it was while Mikael was away and Klaus killed her shortly after and went on the run before Mikael returned. So I think this may be the first time in over a thousand years the entire family is up and about and the first time both parents are on the field (although it seems no matter how hard you try to get rid of her, Esther doesn't leave the field -_-).
And I enjoy Marcel but at the same time hate him =\ He keeps trying to get his place in the Quarter back and is constantly plotting (who isn't?). Him trying to go to war with the Originals is the reason the Quarter Vamps were wiped out. And on that note, how many times do large groups have to utterly fail against an Original to realize they aren't going to win? We've seen Klaus, Elijah and now Mikael wreck large groups of opponents and it's just sad at this point to see the people in power throwing their own away. Hell, Klaus didn't have to kill the Werewolves in the cemetary but he could have done a number on them.

Slash I know what you mean about Marcel. I wanted to slap him silly last season because he got his whole vampire family killed because all he wanted was to take over. You think after growing up and living with the Originals he'd get a clue. You can't beat them!!!! He knows what Mikael is capable of too. He's not the brightest bulb is he. Seeing the flashbacks with him and hearing his speech to Josh about why he wants to fight for the Quarter has made me more sympathetic towards him. I also love how protective he is over Davina. There's another one who needs to learn that she's in over her head. The only ones that really have power over the Originals are the witches. I would like to see Marcel and Elijah become allies and Klaus as well. I think if they're all going up against both Mama and Papa they're going to need all hands on deck. Kol is the wild card.

Yeah, the Quarter Vamps got served up. Beat down by Elijah and then torn into by the Werewolves. Slowly dying from Wolf Venom is how you're going out? Nope. Mikael, the Vampire who feeds on other Vampires is about to feast on you and you can't do squat cause Elijah and the Wolves already took what fight you had in you.
It's a shame to see how things are now compared to when the Originals were initially there before Mikael came along. Vampires, Wolves, Witches and Humans were actually on the same page and good terms. It's kind of odd how Marcel built his rule in comparison. Waging war on the Wolves and near wiping them out in the area and cursing a pack, and then prohibiting the Witches from using magic and killing/punishing them if they did without his say. Just so he/Vampires were on top. We know how Klaus is but at least at the time he was ruling for Vampires with his family and was on good terms with the other factions, even carrying on a relationship with the head Wolf.

This can't end well! Finn.. He's as boring now as he was before. Can Oliver please die already!!I was thinking about Elijah last night wednesday. How much does he have to lose for Klaus, and, more importantly, why? Elijah doesn't fear him. In the past maybe he needed to stick around to keep Rebekah safe. Did Elijah do something in the past to Klaus and has a massive guilt trip? On another point, You mentioned the 'abominations' grrrrr. Cassie was a little too smirky about how great the witch covens and werewolf clans were doing before the vampires. Uh, hello? Kol! Or rather, Nathaniel! It was great to see Nathaniel in all his elitist, hedonistic glory. Good use of art and culture for a traumatic version of Shakespeare. I liked Klaus using psych 101 to get some of the wolves on Haley's side. Mikael is the new heart grabbing champion in this family. Elijah still gets all the points for style. Can't add more to what's already been said. Lots of good recaps.

Elijah owes Klaus nothing but being a Vampire is screwing him royally. He's always been there for Klaus even before turning but you know, turning Vampire and having certain traits explode exponentially has really done him in for eternity. The combination of his trait and Klaus' is just a bad mixture for Elijah cause 1000 years later, he's still trying to get/keep Klaus on a decent path/redeem him and being the 'noble brother', he's always doing it at his own sacrifice. I would say it's a futile endeavor but he's made some major progress with the baby providing a good enough reason for Klaus to change.
I love how dysfunctional the family is and sticking together but damn are they messed up on a number of levels. Better yet, I would kill for an episode where the lot of them are sat down with Cami and go over there problems. Have Davina raise a barrier between each of them and just let them let it all out.
EDIT: I'd really love to see an alternate universe/What If? storyline where the children were just turned into immortals outright and picked up their Witch heritage (and Mikael became an immortal Witch Hunter or something instead) instead of becoming Vampires and having their emotions ramped up in the process. I'd love to see how things would have panned out then. I could see Mikael still wanting to kill Klaus but I'd imagine the rest of the family would be on better terms (due to Klaus' insecurities not being ramped up) but would probably be a lot more dangerous as Witches (and being able to craft spells; we know Esther's spells are in their own league/one of a kind at times so having her children doing the same and being on a different field to Witches as a whole wouldn't probably sit well...).
