debbie nooooo don't be scared!! It's ok if you want to say Stefan. I have zero problem with other's opinions*, I'm always curious to the psychology of why people gravitate toward or strongly dislike the characters they do. It's no fun if we all had the same opinion! I'm new here too, I will protect you from any hate wagon coming your way but this group doesn't seem like the pitchfork and torches type. *side note, its totally not ok if you want to say Alaric. I will hunt you down and do something dastardly and evil. and yes, I am kidding. It would be an "animal attack" Who says we're not the pitchfork and torches type! You didn't notice these guys! We usually save those to express our feelings towards the writers so it's all good! hey some fans take the heroin of the show pretty seriously!

@dman24 I am your friend, I just had to let some steam off ... don't take everything I write dead serious I was being a little sarcastic with that comment, I guess you didn't see it. But it still hurts a bit that fans want her dead. I certainly got that you were exaggerating and playing around again

I'm so excited for day 5 because I think there's 1 human guy that stands out for me as having the most growth. I think Matt is finally standing up for himself, showing that he had potential to be the brains of the group and who's sole purpose is not to be a doormat for the supernatural. Good for Matt for staying a good friend but also playing an important role in some of the groups plans this year. My only hope for Matt this year is that the writers use him even more, because he has so much potential! Please don't underuse him!

I think I forgot to Day 4 this thing!
Day 4.Who was your LEAST favorite Character AND why?
For this season...The Travelers overall, just useless. Sloan, I kinda wanted to choke her out. The travelers should have just stuck with chanting because anytime they had a character speak about anything I was all....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz *yawn* oh, was someone talking? Oh so you guys just want to be neighbors without being struck by lightning or drown in a flash flood or something? boo hoo try living in a 3rd world country, you damn whiners. Plus some of you guys don't even seem to like each other, you really want to hang out more and borrow each others lawn mowers and tools and have neighborhood BBQs? Oh and you don't like witches and anything their magic created? Yeah get in line. But what is your deal with hating humans, because it seems to me like the folk getting the most of your wrath is the poor innocent humans you are traveling in and in most cases killing. What a bunch of A-holes you are. If I was a vampire I would "animal attack" the hell out of you.
And as far as main characters I want to slap... (don't throw things at me @dman24) but Elena was getting on my nerves, which is sad because she used to be my favorite female on the show. She didn't seem to give a crap about her friends and especially her brother. I had a problem with that, Jer needed her. SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN! like Jer.

Love this comment crimmyj ...the Travelers good new form of sleeping therapy they were. And I 100% am with you about Elena, she used to be the leading lady heroine and she shamelessly neglected Jer!!!

Shoe invited me to re-post these thoughts over here. I hope I am picking the right thread. I just read the most recent additions to the books, which I had to get from the UK. The Salvation Book 3 has a few typos, and seems to have been finished in some haste, so I'm thinking the way it finishes up is a) a mistake or b) provisional. It suffers from a few of the same inconsistencies in Elena's character that plagued Season Five. The inconsistencies strategically serve the revision of the entire Stefan-Elena romance. There are a few key challenges facing earthly writers of TVD. Folks, the Salvatore brothers are immortal. Quit killing them off! Every time Stefan or Damon face the true death, as they say elsewhere, it's a failure of imagination to try to deal with the dilemma of their eternal lives. I don't care if the actors get bored with the situation -- that's the essential predicament of Stefan and Damon. They "get" to live forever. Secondly, Elena's current taste of immortality should have been transitory. Her vampirism on the TV series has been extended simply to serve Delena. There's nothing distinctive about her vampirism, whereas Caroline's serves her character. Thirdly: the revision of Damon into the primary romantic male lead. Fan service, pure and simple. If this series is supposed to be about the relationship of Stefan and Damon, then how about making that the subject of Season Six? Where are the consequences of Stefan evacuating the role of romantic male lead? So far I can't see them. He just accepts the total reversal of Elena's "love" and defers to his brother in his place? WTF? There is nothing human about Stefan's capacity to love -- he is a vampire. His love for Elena -- or for Damon -- can't be psychologically resolved according to what would be healthy for a human, it can only be severely controlled, like his blood thirst. At some point, the cracks have to show. There also have to be some kickbacks on the relationship between the brothers about Elena's choice. Back in 4x06, Stefan chooses to acknowledge the end of his relationship with Elena because he sees she is in love -- with his brother. It is not only nobility. His pride can't take it. Yet this is the very thing Stefan dreaded from Episode One -- that Damon would usurp Elena. None of that has really been addressed. Stefan just got over it. Then his desire for her was re-cast as a spell (revisionism) He just relinquishes the role of romantic male lead? Perhaps he steps back to wait. What would three years of waiting be to an immortal? The explanation for Elena's attraction to Damon is still that as a vampire she is not herself. She was consumed by Damon as a human. But as a vampire, so far she has exhibited none of her primary human characteristic, as written by the TV series: that is, her empathy and caring for others. There is a lot of work to be done there in Season Six.

Dries before she already ruins Season 6!

Actually, I have been nursing hard feelings towards Elena for her lack of expression of feeling over Stefan's death in 5x21 since that show aired a few weeks ago. But seen from her perspective, the day after she loses Jenna, she also loses Stefan, who makes a desperate choice to leave her. He had good reasons for so doing -- to save Damon at the end of Season Two, and then to keep her hidden from Klaus. But she must have felt left. Then she loses Ric. Now she loves Damon, and, possibly from her perspective, he chooses to risk losing her to save Stefan. So she goes with him. Then, circumstance of fate, she finds herself left -- again. Maybe I have been a bit too hard on her.

Day 5.Who in your opinion got the most character growth?
Matt, because he knows where he stands, what he wants now in his life ( a town free of supernaturals and magic) and he can stand up for himself.
Damon, because he has fulfilled his life, found his happiness, his love and completed his redemption arc -at least up til now he has -
Bonnie found happiness and love and considered the given year with her Jer as a gift and was ready to accept her fate without blinking.

Day 4.Who was your LEAST favorite Character AND why?
I would have to say Damon because he promised Stefan a lifetime of misery and he has delivered. No matter how many times Stefan saved his life, Damon just keeps rolling all over Stefan without even blinking.

My least favourite character was Dr. Wes. I was kind of hiding while it happened, but I was quite fine with how Damon exacted revenge. Season Four my least favourite character was Professor Shadypants.

My least favourite character was Dr. Wes. I was kind of hiding while it happened, but I was quite fine with how Damon exacted revenge. Season Four my least favourite character was Professor Shadypants. Hi Demetra! My least favorite was Wes, too, and Sloan for the short time she was around. He was simply cruel & heartless and she was a close second. My three favorite episodes: 1. Ep4 - For Whom the Bell Tolls. First, I love TVD titles and their references to books, movies, etc. I liked this ep. because Amnesia!Stefan was sweet & goofy. Plus we got the throwback scenes & music along the way. It made sense that he blew off Damon/Elena's help once he found out Elena was with his brother, then turned to Caroline for help. 2. Ep8 - Dead Man on Campus. This one got the storylines moving again. We saw more of Bonnie as the anchor and learned a bit about the other side, Damon tortured Wes and discovered Augustine was still alive, and there was a glimpse of things to come with Kat using the knife to expel Gregor from Matt. Fave moment? Kat jumping from the tower with David Gray's "Meet me on the other side" playing, and Stefan catching her, only to tell her, "You're Katherine Pierce, suck it up." (Hope that's the approx. quote.) 3. Ep20 - What Lies Beneath. While I loved the episode PW directed, and the Stelena scenes (fake and real), this episode in the cabin was both pure fun and grade B horror (bathroom scene). It made me laugh to see Caroline inventing her questions, and she & Damon teaming up, and Stefan acting competitive and jerky about winning. Stefan and Damon had that moment when Stefan told Damon he lied about Enzo because he thought Damon would hate him. Awww. The episode ended on a sour note but even that was expected - only a small % of plans work for MF gang.

This is fun! Thanks Ruby. Day 6: Most shocking events. 1. Stefan NOT coming out of the safe as a Ripper, and having amnesia, were both surprising. 2. Finding out about Augustine, and that Damon had been a prisoner for five years (and didn't tell Stefan). 3. Kat attempting to commit suicide! 4. Caroline shredding the horse picture!!! Lol, I'll never forgive her. Oh, and of course that makes me think of her & Klaus in the woods. 5. That Stefan fell for Kat's shenanigans on their road trip and in the motel. Sorry, not realistic. 6. Kat actually died and went to a Hellish place. 7. Damon killed Maggie. 8. The way Enzo died. 9. The end for Bonnie & Damon. Still grieving.
